Well, hell, it's AP. If Holder had just asked, AP would have given him anything he wanted and thanked him for the privilege.

Guess I'm missing something here. The AP is in love with the Obama administration. So it is rather amusing to see them having a little temper tantrum.

My gut is telling me that since last Sept. due to the blame game over Bengazi the low level folks in the bureaucracy are fearful of being thrown under the bus.
The trick to maintaining a tight ship is making sure the lower deck hands don't have a reason to mutiny.
Feeling threatened because the captain has decided to blame others is a sure fire way to provide the motivation to let certain strategic information gets leaked.
This has gone from shock and disbelief, to placing odds on what's next.

I think the point was intentionally made by the administration to all reporters, "Don't screw with us or we will screw with you." The generally gutless mainstream press is going to be scared by this but not blame their hero.

In the Soviet Union people on trains to the gulags wrote letters to "Uncle Joe Stalin" asking for his help to fix the terrible mistakes made by the courts that convicted them of imaginary crimes. The prisoners could not believe that their great leader would let this happen if he knew of the injustice, never would they believe that he ordered it.
