  1. I’ve noticed you’re getting these from phys.org science news feed. Phys.org has been trumpeting the global warming cause for years, but in the last few weeks I’ve noticed almost a complete about face on the issue: most of their posts on the topic range from skeptical to – well, this.

  2. Was the drought predictable? The accuracy of the 5 day forecast is approaching random so predicting a whole summer drought might be problematic.
It’s like picking your own lottery numbers – 50 million idiots and 1 self proclaimed genius.

  3. Layer by layer the AGW/CC scam is revealed. Unfortunately, most of the public can only remember what they saw on TV last night.

  4. As far as I know CAGW believers have yet to prove that any weather event has been caused by increased CO2. Generally they default to some vaguely defined “increased risk factor” argument. The problem is that the risk of weather extremes provided by natural variability is much larger than ones that might be caused by any one variable (CO2 in the CAGW case).
On to the much ignored good news: our ability to cope with nasty weather has improved immensely in the modern world. Technology, crop science, free trade and increased prosperity (enhanced by reliable affordable energy)has made us less vulnerable to weather and climate extremes.* All of these are areas in which money and political policy is more beneficial compared to any form of carbon pricing to reduce the an unquantified “social cost” of a substance, fossil fuels, that have provided so many real social benefits.

*CAGW will argue this point by using dollar damage figures of extreme weather without using normalized data and without charts that show frequency of extreme weather shows no increase or decrease, just randomness. If the CAGW weather profile looks identical to natural variability then Occam’s Razor and honest science should assume it is natural variability. It would explain both the warm 90s and the stalled temp of the 21st century.

  5. after 22 years of constant cooling, you’d think these warmist pillagers would be running for cover rather than brazenly still spouting their insanity – shows how apathetic/corrupt our public policy systems are.

  6. “…The accuracy of the 5 day forecast is approaching random…”
    Amen.
When they started the five-day forecasts on TV, my Dad would swear: “Five days? Get tomorrow right you sonzabitches!”

  7. As Ive said before, the Global warming scam is just too juicy for Governments to abandon for raising taxes. Gee gas might even go back to 60 cents a liter.
No huge wind farms taking up space while killing wildlife. A visual blight. We may even have affortable heating bills so we don’t have to wear winter jackets inside our residences.Endure the endless brown outs .

  8. Uhhu. Just like Globull warming caused the dust bowl of the thirtys. Oh wait. The temp was actually LOWER than it is now.

  9. Actually, there were predictions of heat and drought for last summer in the business. Not sure what if anything readers here would know about that. But as to the AGW part, quite true, not a factor.

  10. “But as to the AGW part, quite true, not a factor.”
You should add “in my opinion” because the science behind this scam has already deserted you. Whatever is left over is called weather.

  11. This year may be interesting again.
I watched quite a few center pivots getting put in last fall.
However, areas that I have usually seen runoff flooding are dry or low level sloughs vs higher levels.
