  1. It’s a webpage by the Toronto District School Board outlining approved organizations for teachers to engage with for Anti-Classism Education. It’s downright scary.
On this page the TDSB advises teachers that “OCAP is willing to visit schools and deliver workshops regarding issues of poverty such as homelessness and housing issues” . Yes, you read that right- a group of slanderous bullies who, in their spare time, throw Molotov cocktails at the police are being invited into classrooms across the city. How could this be? Well, it gets worse:

No One is Illegal …… NOII primarily works with students at the secondary level. They have volunteers who can act as guest speakers in classes, workshop facilitaors for clubs and groups and guest speakers for larger events like assemblies. Contact information can be found under “Contact NOII” which is under the “About NOII” menu on the website

  2. Politicians make war – soldiers fight them. War is hell. Whatever evil was wrought by the Nazi’s – the war was fought, by and large, by obedient german soldiers.

  3. Trudeau haunts us still. The SCOC will investigate itself regarding allegations that the SCOC judges of the day interfered politically into the creation of Canada’s Unratified Constitution Act 1982. Imagine it gets thrown out and we no longer have Bilingualism or multicult etc. I for one never liked the fact that not a single man or woman in Canada was allowed to vote for or against this dog’s breakfast of a constitution. Basically they took the old BNA and stacked the French Civil Code on top of it with The Charter of Negotiable Rights. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/canada/repatriation-of-constitution-in-1982-quebec-demands-that-feds-open-their-books-202164581.html

  4. Kate,
Thanks. A rather well-known fight as it was the debut of the new M-26 “Pershing” tank. Part of the reason it was so well documented. This is the same unit, 32nd Armored Regt., 3rd Armored Div. that Elvis served in a dozen years later.

  5. My aunt lived in Cologne for a time…
The pock marks from shelling and gunfire still grace the cathedral façade, when I visited last.
Not very pleasant climbing out of your tank with a smoking limb; no wonder some crews referred to the Sherman as the ‘Ronson’, after the lighter. The german crew weren’t faring much better under the shelling from the Pershing tank after 3 hits.
The Soviets were also suffering in a futile defensive bloodletting on the eastern front around the same time frame.

  6. On Monday most Toronto newspapers had articles on the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, which occurred in the spring of 1943.
The salient point about this revolt is that it would not have been possible without GUNS.
As long as there are people who advocate totalitarian government – and that includes the “politically correct” – gun control should be opposed.

  7. http://www.therightscoop.com/mark-levin-goes-nuclear-an-up-and-down-vote-on-the-2nd-amendment-is-unconstitutional/
Mark Levin goes NUCLEAR: An up and down vote on the 2nd amendment is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
Mark Levin says that on Thursday the Senate intends to vote to change the 2nd amendment without any pretense of going through the amendment process, on a bill that hasn’t even been written yet. He says that this isn’t republicanism, it’s democratic tyranny. And the senators arguing to filibuster are being demonized, but Levin says that an up and down vote on the 2nd amendment is unconstitutional, that there is no up and down vote on the Constitution.
    This is a must listen:

There used to be a formulation of cynical news editors to determine American news priorities for mass murder. It ran something like: 1,000 dead Bangladeshis = 100 dead Italians = 10 dead Americans.
So how many dead American babies does it take to make the news? I wrote two-and-a-half weeks ago about the U.S. media’s determination to ignore a story that’s inconvenient to their biases. But, given the gun-banners’ ceaseless grief-feasting on Sandy Hook, at some point doesn’t the corpse count in Philadelphia merit maybe, oh, a thousandth of the attention?
He also claimed he saw about 100 babies born alive and then ‘snipped’ with surgical scissors in the back of the neck, to ensure their ‘demise’.
That’s from a story about Gosnell’s Pennsylvania abattoir in the Daily Mail, a British newspaper doing the job American media won’t do. Headline:

  9. The Liberanos
Elected at 29 years old, Councillor Al Maghnieh is currently the youngest member of Windsor City Council. A proud native of Windsor, he is thrilled at the opportunity to serve his community in this manner
Embattled councillor declares bankruptcy – Maghnieh racks up $298K debt
….Before entering municipal politics, Maghnieh, 31, was an adviser on the staff of former Ontario Liberal finance minister Dwight Duncan…
Maghnieh resigned in disgrace as chairman of the Windsor Public Library last spring after it was revealed he had spent nearly $14,000 on a corporate credit card, a substantial portion of which was for personal expenses, including lavish travel and fancy meals. All of it has since been repaid, but lawyer George King said Friday the board is still waiting for Maghnieh to make good on his earlier promise to pay back approximately $21,000 for the cost of an audit into his spending….

  10. Syrian militants pledge allegiance to al-Qaida. H/T to NewsWatchCanada for picking this up.
The leader of an Islamic extremist rebel group in Syria pledged allegiance on Wednesday to al-Qaida and its leader for the first time.
Abu Mohammad al-Golani, head of Jabhat al-Nusra or the Nusra Front, confirmed his rebel group was tied to al-Qaida in Iraq in an audio message posted on militant websites.

  11. Eeek. A close range tank duel in a bombed out urban environment.
I think that pretty well describes hell as far as armoured vehicle crewmen are concerned.
Remember kids in a WWII tank, it’s hot, smelly and LOUD, and you are locked into a small metal box loaded with stuff that can blow up or burn, where you can can barely see out through “vision” blocks at the best of times.
A bombed out city does not qualify as “best”.
And OBTW Pershing vs. Panther is basically “sudden death” (Panther vs. Sherman is just crappy odds for the Sherman. Experienced wargamers and historical events both show that match up is cringe worthy, you usually lose a lot of Shermans per Panther to win. )

    “Communism, Fascism and liberals now”
“Discussing the Declaration of the Rights of Toiling and Exploited People promulgated in the Soviet Union in January 1918, in which sections of the population regarded as “former people” were disenfranchised, Vladimir Tismaneanu writes: “It can hardly be considered a coincidence that the term byvshie liudi (former people), which became commonplace in Bolshevik speak, implied that those to whom it applied were not quite human”. The disenfranchised groups included functionaries of the tsarist police and military, class aliens who lived off unearned income, clergy of all religions and anyone economically dependent on those so far listed. Debarred from the rationing system (for many the chief source of sustenance), liable to have their property confiscated, and prohibited from seeking public office, people in these categories – along with their families, since being a former person was defined as an inheritable condition – were excluded from society. The system of categories, Tismaneanu writes, was “the prototype taxonomy for the terror that was to follow in later years”. Denying some human groups the moral standing that normally goes with being a person, this act formed the basis for the Soviet project of purging society of the human remnants of the past.
It is also one of the grounds for Tismaneanu’s belief that in important respects Communism and Fascism were at one.”

“A number of birds have been confused by lower than normal temperatures. Winter migrants like waxwings, fieldfares and redwings are still present in large numbers across the countryside, showing little sign of preparing to head north. Starling murmurations – traditionally a winter evening spectacle – were recorded as late as the Easter weekend in areas including Swindon and Aberystwyth Pier.
RSPB conservation director Martin Harper said: “I can’t remember a spring like this – nature has really been tested by a prolonged period of very cold weather.”

  15. JM, first post:
“Anti-classism education” is not education, it’s indoctrination.
The TDSB appears to be in the grip of the Marxist left. That’s very bad news.
The good news is that reality is still and always on our side, and reality always avenges itself.
