Jinny Sims appears to be one very confused Member of Parliament. In a recent Globe & Mail article she was quoted as saying that, “references to barbaric practices might stigmatize some cultures”. She was criticizing a new 146 page document from Jason Kenney’s Citizenship & Immigration department.
In the modern Leftist Game of Victimology and Moral Relativism, it seems that Sims’ initial gut reaction was that the rights of “Ethnic” Men Who Beat Up Women trumped the rights of those Women Who Are Beat Up. Minister Kenney explains the whole thing here to Charles Adler.
Since being called out on her peculiar views, Ms. Sims is now backtracking, issuing endless tweets against domestic violence.

Don’t forget that Shiny Pony also objected to the use of the word “barbaric” in reference to some of those practices. He offered no alternative suggestions, so it is difficult to know what sort of descriptors he might find acceptable. Or be able to think of. No fear, the CBC is not likely to press him for specifics regarding how he would describe female circumcision in a more “culturally sensitive” manner.
Were they talking about Muslims? I was making a list of things and the only group that fits are Muslims. Any one else think of another group that fits?

They show slobbering support for the enlightened, democratic and egalitarian arab spring that their messiah Obama brought to the middle east with his new brand of “smart politics” as opposed to the admittedly brutal but effective “dumb politics” of previous administrations. Inconveniently, there will continue to be some raped woman and girls here, a few hundred dead Christians there, and a fascistic power grab by the Obama approved leader to top things off. These are just a few bumps in the road to get back to the seventh century where the women folk really had it good. Okay so women and Christians can’t constitutional hold certain elected positions, but they can hold those positions in their hearts. For the time being, they can still drive, vote in elections that kinda sorta matter and even go out of the house without their owner/operator’s (husband, brother or son as the case may be) permission. But at least they are not being oppressed by a bunch of Jews in Israel where they have had a female prime minister, female generals in the military, female business moguls and an independent judiciary with female judges and legal protection for all minorities. Those pesky Jews even have a self-sufficient economy which proves how truly evil they are.

Presumably if he instead groped her because of being “unclothed” outside that would be also appropriate (not having seen her photo I’m not sure if she would be considered as gropeable by a young, heterosexual male).
It would be very amusing to see how the moonbats dealt with such contradictions if they were assaulted by members of TROP. My guess is that they’d probably blame the attacks on the pernicious influence of European dead white males.

Jinny Sims is a classic example of the perils of the cognitive dissonance that pervades the whole leftist point of view.
The false ideology of multiculturalism claims that no culture is better than another. But the fact that (as she back-handedly admits) some cultures even have barbaric practices to begin with is proof that some cultures are better than others. For the leftist, if the facts don’t fit the theory, they have to be shovelled under the rug.
On the other hand, leftists are fine with tarring western culture as “racist”, conjuring up preposterous anti-concepts like “whiteness”, in order to induce unearned guilt in the masses the left wishes to rule. Apparently it’s okay to “stigmatize” western culture, for the occasional practice or ideal that falls very far short of “barbaric”.
Their real goal is to destroy the most productive and free culture in world history, but it’s impossible to do it without holding contradictory notions inside their tiny leftist heads.
