  1. Yup. And they are just heading for fall. This is why you never hear the eco-cultists talk about Antarctica. Goes against their religous/money grubbing meme.

  2. Given the propensity of God/Nature to cover North America now and then with mile-thick ice sheets, I’d say we’d better get out there and burn those fossil fuels like crazy.

  3. Woah – more than a full standard deviation from the mean. That indicates a significant process adjustment.

  4. CTV just reported someone saying the polar bears are going to turn brown because of, gasp, global warming.
When will the MSM and the rest of idiocracy stop flogging this dead horse?

  5. When will the MSM and the rest of idiocracy stop flogging this dead horse?
when they can no longer make money from flogging it

  6. The only thing the media will talk about down there is supposed loss of ice on the Western Peninsula, which juts upward toward South America. This is like using Florida as a proxy for North America.

Au contraire….they keep claiming that Antaractica is melting but omitting -30C is as warm as it gets….except for the Palmer/Antarctic Penninsula which extends north of the antactic circle….
An associate, of mine, was involved in the construction of the new South Pole Station…..seems the geodesic dome they built back in the 60-70’s was in trouble. Although the snow-flow is only about 3/4″ annually it never melts and blows about….buring the damn thing. The new facility is on stilts so the wind blows underneath and if worse comes to worse they can jack the sucker up…..even on the very best days, the outside workers had to take manditory breaks inside….-30C….
He got retired…like a lot of others…9,000 ft altitude etc…regardless what ya eat ya lose weight….
Back a coupla years, one of the over-winter crew had to be evacuated for medical treatment….a Canadian contractor was dispatched all the way down there…after they landed, they had to keep the C130’s engines running because shutting down for ANY time would render them unstartable….that’s more than brass monkey territory……

  8. was reading an article a while back in which was stated that in the past when global temps were higher than today that the much dreaded (and hyped) melting of the Greenland ice cap never happened, so, another one of their scare claims is on the shelf.

  9. The antarctic “anomoly” (deviation from the mean) is around +9 million square kilometers. The Arctic anomoly is around -4 million.
The Sea Ice Page at WUWT is a good resource if you are interested in following the anomolies.

  10. I downloaded the data file for the north and it appears that there is a lot less ice in the summer than before, but the winter ice is near the norm.
