27 Replies to “What We Really Need Is Democracy”

  1. The only thing worse than proselytizing for Christ in Libya is falsely being accused of making an anti-Muslim video in the USA.

  2. And now you can see why the left and the Islamists get along so well. Both of them want to shut down any disputing of their religion.

  3. And how is this any different from any other democracy?
Mob rule and persecution of those that will not toe the winner’s line.
Seriously this is just an extrem example of what self righteous people do to each other in the name of fair democracy.
But I am sure you all feel “reasonable” in the laws you want enforced and enacted.

  4. Well of course bvd,
Our democracy is much better then theirs, our doesn’t allow the state to kill folks, especially over something as important as religion, we are free to practice our religion openly and honestly with no repercussions. No need fear any looong arm of the state meddling in that….Oh wait…

  5. We will be seeing this happen in western countries before long, as the left/Islamic coalition consolidates their grip.

  6. I thought that the Libya Benghazi thing was moot! Like didn’t Obama say he was “sorry” for the video? And didn’t they yell at Hillary Clinton during that inquiry thing they had a month ago? I mean they really yelled at her right they gave her heck? Therefore the Muslims should be happy now right? Also didn’t Obama also say he was sorry for the Koran burning and the U.S. soldiers pissing on the dead terrorists? And didn’t Obama give them billions in foreign aid? Didn’t Obama also help get the Muslim Brotherhood elected in Libya?

  7. What happens outside of the USA is of little interest to the Obama administration, apart from the occasional opportunity for a political feather in the Presidential cap, a la Ben Laden.
The business of establishing a totalitarian oligarchy is a full-time job.

  8. It should be noted that they were arrested under an old Qaddafi-era decree still in effect so it’s not a matter of Obama’s Libya but of Qaddafi’s Libya. Obama is, thankfully, unimportant to Libya. This should also put an end to claptrap about Qaddafi being a secular goody-goody.

  9. Many of the contributors to this blog are sensible people who view laws as highly undesirable in and of themselves. Probably only a few are out and out libertarians, but probably would agree that laws are evil, but occasionally a necessary evil. The least powerful law which will achieve a necessary objective is the best.
Don’t trust government; trust them least when they appear friendly to you and promise you to do what you want.

  10. While my heart goes out to those who face persecution and martyrdom, from the point of view of the Christian faith this persecution is good news. Christianity is built on the blood of its martyrs. It needs refreshment from new martyrs. An Islamic bullet or noose is still a less painful death than the jaws of a lion in the Coliseum. Death by lion or bear is still easier than the horror of death by crucifixion.
That said, these martyrs-to-be were stupid and lazy – imagine being so feckless as to distribute printed literature! We know how these things must be done. The early history of Christianity teaches us. Everything must be committed to memory. Prospective converts must be sounded out in one-on-one meetings. Larger groups can get together only in the most secure surroundings, preferably arranged by an influential convert.

  11. Islam means “The Sword”, and each day the news stories appear to be confirming this.
Capitulate and bow or off with your head.
And we want to import that into our country, why?
The CBC has done its best to try and turn Islam into a nice little comedy show, trying to train us into believing that we can all just get along. But history has always shown that getting along, for a radicalized Muslim, means doing it there way or off with your head. Nothing but progressive democracy in action.
I have a feeling that we won’t be seeing this story on the news, repeated ad nauseam, showing how wonderfully the religion of peace is advancing in the region.

  12. I suggest we treat islamofascists in the same way – try to spread their religion and we shoot them. After all, they want to import their way of life to this country so lets give it to them.

  13. As a gnostic I find islam to be a very disturbing cult with traits that make street gangs look like pussies in comparison. I’ve taken the time to go through all three of their holy books and it’s one contradiction after another mixed in with some doublethink.
    Mother Of God

  14. Two years past, there was a couple in a boat that was taken over by the Somalian pirates, off the coast of Somalia that had been distributing bibles around the world.
Before the US Navy could place SEAL members onboard and provide a rescue, the terrorists had murdered them.
The boat was called, s/v Quest. The website for this adventure is still functioning. svquest . com
and here’s Mark Levin’s response to those that would murder people that are distributing bibles, spreading information of Christianity … Depending on the verdict, I think this could work in Libya too. That this may be done with government sanction? and not just your run of the mill terrorists? I don’t care, same thing. Why not send B. Hussien to Libya so he can bow to them, and possibly fellate the judge responsible.

  15. Loki, I’ve been saying just that for years. The Lord’s instructions regarding the evangelists of false faiths—Romanism, Communism, Islam—could not be clearer. We need to go carry them out and save our tears for the Benghazi martyrs.
If we were serious about it, cleaning out their nests in the cities of the Christian world would take a matter of months. With the nuclear arsenal at the disposal of civilized nations it would take a single afternoon to end, once and for all time, the ability of Islam to make war on the civilized world, and finally restore to Israel her birthright from the Nile to the Tigris, along with enough oil to last her children a thousand years.
Protestant Europe and America already have enough oil and gas to last them a thousand years. Nobody has ever convincingly explained to me what we are waiting for. All it would take is a little courage.
Alas, I think I know. It would require a soupçon of courage. We are not ruled by men who know what courage means.

  16. “Don’t trust government; trust them least when they appear friendly to you and promise you to do what you want.”
    Agreed

  17. Dick, please tell me where you are getting these “Lord’s instructions”. They don’t sound like anything from my Lord, Jesus Christ.

  18. Contrary to popular believe, the meek will not inherit the Earth.Pretty hard to do when you are dead by a muzzie. And there is no such animal as a moderate muzzie.Wake up,people.

  19. You know… supporters of Canada’s Conservative party really aren’t in a position to talk about freedom and democracy when Canada scores below Mongolia and Columbia on access to information, and muzzles scientists.

So… shut it. Go moan about climate change or something.

  20. That ‘muzzling scientists’ bit is the weakest bit of whining in the world. ‘Wah my boss won’t let me talk to the press without going to him first!’
