If you ever wanted a textbook example of what a “Vote Canceler” is, read this letter to the editor. Here’s one person’s analysis of what’s written. The most hilarious section is this:
The Republicans are just trying to stand in the way, because the president is black. They even dared to question whether he was born in this country. I think all this demonstrates that the Constitution needs to be amended when it comes to the qualifications for being president. Right now, it says that a person has to be 35 years old and be a natural born citizen. Well, that is obviously unfair because there are a great many otherwise qualified people who cannot run for president because their mothers had to have a C-section.

A significant number of babies have to be induced,so I assume they don’t count as “natural born” either.
That letter MUST have been a joke, right? Right?
Surely you realize this letter is a hoax, right?
It just has to be a parody, but it’s a cute one. One giveaway early-on is that “our great President came from a civilized part of the country where there is strict gun control, and he is only trying to bring the benefits of that more modern way of living to the rest of us.”
Please let it be a parody.
The letter was printed in a real newspaper. Here’s the online version:

The letter was obviously meant as a joke. A jolly good one it was too. Even the editors couldn’t help but find it funny enough to preserve for posterity.
I was believing it (The Letter to the Editor) as I was reading it. But, you’ll must be correct in the assumption that this is a hoax / parody. Right? RIGHT????
.
You never know. The writer of the letter could be a product of the American university system.
This must be Zen-level trolling.
I’m sure it’s a fake.
I hope it’s real.
… that’d confirm a few things if it was.
This is why Rush is reaching out to low information voters now with regular TMZ/e-online etc etc tabloid rundowns everyday.
Eh, it’s traditional. If that logic is good enough for Shakespeare (Macbeth), it’s good enough for me.
I’d like to believe that this letter is a hoax because I can’t fathom anyone being that stupid. But then I remember some of the conversations I’ve had around my buddy’s kitchen table with some of our left leaning friends. Thats when I realize that, yes, lefties can be that stupid!
I to hope its a fake, but suspect its real.
I keep discovering that I lack imagination, when trying to anticipate the lunacy of the liberal mindset.
One of the 5 laws of human stupidity was that we will always underestimate the number of stupid persons in any group and that whatever percentage we assign for stupidity will be too low.
For example could any commenter here invented as an act of fiction, Chief Spence, Micheal Mann or David Suzuki?
Surely it’s The Onion. Then again, maybe not.
“The Republicans are just trying to stand in the way, because the president is black.”
Not me. I am trying to stand in the way because the President is an idiot. His color doesn’t matter to me. I am against idiots in the oval office.
“The Republicans are just trying to stand in the way, because the president is black.”
Remember when there were the (leftist) anti-war demonstrations ten years ago, with effigies of Bush being burned? racists.
After reading the entire letter, I think it’s fairly obviously a satire.
And a damned good one, too.
I laughed when I reached “But because the Constitution was written a hundred years ago…”.
Falstaff was right.
All the world is a joke.
So it seems…
I don’t know about this being satire,.. I once had a local liberal get angry with me because we were using lake water to fight a fire.. he was concerned that we were lowering the level of the 20 square mile lake.
The author of the letter doesn’t understand why a (C)aesarian section is called such. Hilarious but also frightening. These people are running the US at present.
The real point to be taken from that letter is the blurring of fantasy and reality.
Whether deliberate satire or simply a fool parroting the common lefty tripe, it all leads to the same problem.
Although it is unlikely that any one person would unwittingly repeat that many leftarded tropes in one screed, it still remains posssible and even believable to those of us who generally pay attention or are used to hearing it.
If it is a deliberate mcoking of the so called “liberal” mindset then the author clearly has a LOT of material to work with.
Which brings us back to beginning and the reason WHY it becomes necessary to destroy these little pieces of progressive propaganda whenever possible.
That is because SH!T sticks and the smell lingers. And we all need a cleaner environment.
I have run into the same lack of brains, how do these people survive in the real world?
The bit about the Constitution being “written a hundred years ago” is nod to the spectacularly stupid thing Ezra Klein (what, you’re not familiar with his work? He’s only the proud founder of JournoList!) said.
