Are they actually trapped, or did they make the hole themselves? How did a pod of whales manage to swim under such a vast sheet of ice for so long before finding the only hole available for miles? Come on, they're whales, they live in these conditions year round, every year! You're trying to tell me they can somehow get "stuck" under a vast sheet of ice? My guess is these whales are doing the whale version of an "ice fishing" vacation!

So let me get this straight, the ice ISN'T gone, AND they shot a polar bear for good measure. Has anyone contacted the CBC or Chief Spence to find how this can be tied to Harper?

Actually, I think the real story here is that a local blogger made a video and put it on youtube (linked by the G&M). Then the lamestream media picked it up and decided to put some spin on it. What we need the blogger to do is add a little text to the video about why he thinks the whales were there to begin with - and we catch the MSM in another lie.

Whales probably went off to the Maldives to eat all the submerged villagers.

I watched this story on the National last night at 9:00P.M. Eastern. Then I wake up this morning to read in the Globe that the ice gets blown and the whales are free. To get to print, this story would have been composed and submitted by 12:00 midnight. This has to be a miracle as The Lord works in mysterious ways.

I saved them. Please send me money.

Flash.....the whales just swam away thus denying the CBC a reason to create a mini series blaming Harper for this excess ice.

This happens routinely in the Arctic. The whales have open water and the ice gradually closes in between them and the open sea. Drifting ice and or rapidly freezing temperatures can cause this. Suddenly the whales are trapped. Below is an article about trapped beluga whales in Russia.

It has been a whacky two months weather-wise. The coldest December in Moscow since 1938, deaths in India last week due to cold weather, rain and snow in Israel. Meanwhile there are temperatures in the mid 40s Celsius in Australia.

Regarding the curious polar bear, I think an Orca would make a quick lunch of any polar bear who stuck his head over the edge of the hole. Orcas work in teams and are very smart.

Aint it the truth, Dave. I remember one talking head on the TV 'News' talking about a solar flare ejecting material from the Sun at a velocity of 3 MILLION miles per second.
