I had been curious about the timing of Ms. Spence's "hunger strike".

For the record, the Oka Crisis began on July 11, 1990, which was 597 days after the 1988 federal election, which returned a PC majority.

Further, Ms. Spence's hunger strike began on December 11, 2012, 589 days after the 2011 federal election, which returned a Conservative majority.

I note also that the Idlers had a commemorative ceremony on December 22, 2012 to remember the Oka Crisis (which would have been the 600th day after the 2011 election).

Is the timing of all this nonsense just coincidence?
