Look, for what it's worth, I certainly do think this subject, for all its ickiness, is worthy of serious discussion. Not kiddie-rapists, of course. Just hang 'em. But hebephilia and ephebophilia are interesting phenomena in historical terms. (If you're sneering at that, explain to me how else you would like to talk about 5th century Athenian art. And yes, Juliet was 13. Of course, Romeo was probably about 16 and he wasn't her mom's latest boyfriend.) This article doesn't really seem to me to have any engagement with aesthetics, morality, psychology or serious anthropology, let alone sheer common sense. It's just part of a push to normalize child molestation. Because if there's one thing a lefty cannot stand, it's being told there's something he isn't allowed to shag. And if there's one thing that the left must destroy, it's the family.

I went over to this article that 'bluetech' had referenced earlier, and checked out an article by Michael Den Tandt about the PM's refusal to meet the Spence woman.

If you turn that around, you get PMSH telling a group of natives that he won't meet with them,but he met with 'wallyj' because he is a white guy.

I touched on this earlier today. MP Carolyn Bennett,a doctor BTW,talks to Evan Solomon about her trip to the sacred fasting grounds.

Dr. Bennett gives this reason for the trip; " We were meeting the call for boots and warm clothing and firewood and water and all those things. So we drove down from Toronto with some of the things that they have been asking for."

I have a problem with that. We have all seen countless clips of the po'po' chief and her posse.They do not need warm clothing. I just saw a clip on the National that shows about a dozen cords of firewood. I'm fairly certain that water can be found closer than Toronto.
So why did Bennett lie? Who knows? Probably habit,but it also could be that as a doctor,perhaps she was writing a prescription or two,though she did not give any indication of Spence being in poor health. A real doctor would likely have advised Spence to eat some solid food,if the chief's health was in danger. But the most likely explanation is that it was just another opportunity to get in front of a camera and run down the PM. CBC always obliges.

Bennett's above lie is at about the 1:25 point,just before she starts a tear-jerking story about her son asking " Mommy,why does the PM hate Indians"? (OK,I embellished a bit there).Thankfully Evan cut her off on that story.
