Bravo for Ben Shapiro...!
Piers definitely needs some push back and his petulant dismissive attitude of the the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment as 'your little book' harkens back to 'redcoat' days.
Piers is being quite dimwitted when he comes on the show replete with english accent and attempts to tell an american audience what the 2nd Amendment can or cannot do.
Ben succinctly laid out the reason for the 2nd Amendment and why the founding fathers of the USA put it there.
The loss of lives in Sandy Hook, while tragic, should lead to the correct legislative response is that those with mental illness should not have access to weapons.
The proposition that the "Obama-Nation(tm)" can simply 'order' an end run about the 2nd Amendment is to simply engage in Constitutional violence. Lastly, as far as I am aware I believe that is the right of individual states to legislate in the area of gun storage and maintenance.
Notably, Wyoming Lawmakers Propose ‘Gun Protection’ Legislation.
http://k2radio.com/wyoming-lawmakers-propose-gun-protection-legislation/
http://legisweb.state.wy.us/2013/Titles/HB0104.htm
H.B. No. 0104 Firearm Protection Act.
Sponsored by: KROEKER
AN ACT relating to firearms; providing that any federal law which attempts to ban a semi-automatic firearm or to limit the size of a magazine of a firearm or other limitation on firearms in this state shall be unenforceable in Wyoming; providing a penalty; and providing for an effective date.
It would appear that Piers is neither forthright nor honest in his assessment of the strength of the 2nd Amendment protections as set out in the Bill of Rights.

Piers is such an arrogant P.O.S.
I see he did learn from the Alex Jones interview to have a barrier between him and people who disagree with his opinion. He got alot more aggressive with Ben than he did with Alex. When he has multiples on the panel like three on one, he gets very aggressive, and when its a satelite interview, he is downright internet tough.

Andrew Breitbart inspired some tough, smart kids...I miss that guy.
Because they're all Jooos...right Musket? Your false equivalency leaves your bigotry showing...now run along.
Good job Ben!
Pointing out the fact that Governments throughout history have become tyrannical is central to the 2nd Amendment. Americans need to stop pussy footing around their forefathers Will and allowing these evil collectivists to shape the argument.
Of course it’s not that Liberal Progressive Elitist like Piers Morgan don’t understand this, it’s that they embrace it, believing they would be the benefactors of such a totalitarian regime.
His only effective tactic is to try and humiliate his guests as if tyranny is a “tin foil hat” conspiracy theory.
The people who support Piers Morgan are exactly the type of people who headed to Nazi trains, gas chambers, or firing squad trenches, with their heads down, shoulders slumped, and a look of resignation in their eyes.
FU Piers Morgan and all your useless cake eating minions who have nothing more in life than the desire to take our freedoms, Liberties, and money.
If Piers Morgan is successful in banning all “Assault Weapons”, while he’s visiting the US, is he willing to be held legally responsible for the deaths of any family members of someone who had their assault removed from their home?
Is he willing to stand one on one against every father that losses a child to a murderer or a felon that did get his hands on a “banned gun”, when their own opportunity to protect was taken away?
Notice that these slimy bast*rds never take on any accountability for their actions.
While reasonable people can raise an objection to Shapiro's assertion that Morgan is "dancing on the graves of the Sandy Hook victims" a non-emotional analysis of Piers Morgan's career since that tragic today reveals it to be more true than not. Simply put, Morgan has devoted his show to the issue of Gun Control. He is the latest media hero of the Left and his ratings have probably increased more than a little with all the recent on-air battles, this latest one included.
Of course, Morgan wraps himself in the righteous cloak of "fighting for the children" but ultimately his idea of doing away with the 2nd Amendment, simply because it's part of a silly "little book" [his inference, not mine], is going to possibly cause major bloodshed & strife in the short term. And, in the long term, any student of history knows what happens when the citizenry are stripped of their rights to protect themselves.
The one good thing about Piers Morgan appearing on air nightly and espousing the views that he does is that it is throwing a big, bright spotlight on the true thinking of the Left, unveiled for all to see. And that is frightening.
Socrates would often provoke his opponents into screaming, irrational, tantrums.
Rational discourse often has that effect on the Left.
Then they used lawfare on him, convicted him of being too smart for his own good (their good) and executed him.
If my Philosophic history recall is correct.
d
Good points on juxtaposing the gun control debate with our own Chief Cadillac scandal, wherein the Left screams
"RACIST BIGOT" at legitimate questions.
Would like to read Shapiro s book.

Ben did an excellent job of defending the 2nd amentment in a frontal socialist attack. I like how he connected the fact his European ancestors are "ashes" because there was no means for European people to resist/fight a tyranny with the right to defensive firearms.
Morgan's butt must be getting sore by now pimping the soviet line on firearms ownership. Ya picked the wrong country Karl.
As a side note here, it is curious that the prestitutes and MSM harlots are repititiously broadcasing the type of guns used in Colorodo and SandyHook but we are blank on what DRUGS these nutters were on - and the authorities and courts are stonewalling anyone who attempts to find out. My feeling is that the sient partner in these killings is the same one present in most of the other mass killings of the last decade - prescription psyche drugs - but we can't talk about that. I'd like to see what big pharma contributed to the Dem war chests.
Knight, a Leftist taking responsibility for their actions? Surely you jest!
Two things immediately come to mind:
- Thomas Sowell's assertion that Leftist are only capable of engaging in "Stage One Thinking"
- The Law of Unintended Consequences
In the interest of lowering the crime rate, along with guns maybe Piers should consider banning the free pass his ilk afford "friends" in the commission of their crimes against kids. Hypocrite BBC Saville
Robert W. (Vancouver) >
The impression I came away with the most was Shapiro’s comment to Lilly that “the gloves are off; there is no pretense of civility with the left anymore.” – paraphrased.
Of course we know this about the radical left on the street level as with the “police car poopers”, but we also need to understand and react to it at the professional level as well.
Piers distancing both himself/Liberal Left from “gun control” as NOT a left/ right issue, was especially telling. It was a smug way of saying, we are going to win, but when all hell breaks loose over gun control or innocent people get hurt because of gun bans, just remember that it was a (Left/ Right) issue so don’t blame and come after us on the Left for any fallout.
Meant to say @ 1:48pm:
....just remember that it was a (Left/ Right) decision......
(not "issue".)
It is people like Piers Morgan that enable people like Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Chavez and others like them.
Ken (Kulak) >
Hell their kids literally run around wearing the printed T-shirts with their faces as memorials and badges of honor.
Piss on them all.
Exactly. Furthermore, in that Brian Lilley/Ben Shapiro, where Piers was talking with that other fellow, Piers used the tactics of shouting down, intimidated, and calling names just like Stalin's and Hitler's judges did.
This is just the way the left operates, demonize and shout down. And as Ben says, and as Kate's header used to suggest, these tactics have to be countered. The days of civil discourse are gone and they largely have taken possession of the stage.
"How dare you"
I agree with Piers on his point of not so much "standing on the dead children's graves", because they weren't even excavated yet, so it's more like dancing in their blood.
Over all, Piers loses the debate just like his country's gubment lost in 1776 when American's required guns to prove their point.
Back to your gasping socialist island, redcoat.
@syncrodox, please note that Ben Shapiro trotted out that well worn trump card about his grandparents now being ashes in Europe.
In so doing, does he not use the ashes as a propellant that brands any opposition as Holocaust (tm) enabler, denier and truther? How dares anyone not kowtow to someone with pulverized ancestry?
And secondly, good Sir/Madam, you yourself imputed that I have anti-Jews motives. You will be relieved to know that yes, yes, indeed I do. Some of my motives are anti-, some are Jewish. Allegations of anti-Semitism have worn so thin due to inflationary policies of folks who frequently have nothing else to say. It's like with questioning Diversity. Verboten!
Anti-Semitism is simply anything where Genuflection, Reparations and Blanket Approval of Likudnik Leadership ought to be. My cat by this definition is pure Arafat.
Now, I am going to denounce myself and rent some Spielberg and Mel Brooks movies.
Mazel tov, Rebbe Syncrodox.

Just like the Muslims settling 200 year old scores or other backwater tribal monkeys, the pompous British Liberal Loons simply won't let it go.
“Hey you totalitarian freaks, YOU LOST now get the f*ck out and take this seditious little prick attacking our constitutional laws with you!”
The US has a low murder rate. It is higher than the UK but a small fraction of the rate of many countries. If anyone can relate the various murder rates to legality of gun ownership, it would be a miracle.

Is there an award for most incomprehensible post of the year? If so, I nominate Musket Brown Bess's post above. Makes new,ok and the ilk seem positively straightfoward by comparison.
Look dumbass, you're the one who attempted to link Ben Shapiro's smackdown of Morgan to Netanyahu. Specious bullshit. As for Ben's point about ashes, it wasn't so much a Jewish thing as a sheeple thing. Hitler came to power in a democratic state and incrementally exercised state control until shit like Kristallnacht was the order of the day (or more accurately, night). Well armed citizens have a right to oppose the mob. Get it?
That doofus initially posted as Musket Morgan, which incidentally, is what Michelle Malkin is referring to Piers Morgan as...Is that you Piers?
There's some very interesting analysis about Piers Morgan in The Washington Post.
One other thing worth noting, scar, is that the Left is never willing to discuss the demographics of the murder rate. Even though they are quite willing to cite Japan quite regularly.

I considered that quite a bit (the drug angle) about my own experiences with Pharmaceutical drugs. ESPECIALLY ANTI-DEPRESSANTS, drugs that a overbearing mother would PUSH on a young man. (ask me how I know, I dare you)
Those drugs, combined, with say, alcohol or pot will leave oneself open to ANY form of suggestion. Such as Internet forums, such as pretty much anybody that suggests ANYTHING.
I "just" lost my drivers licence on an errand for a hippie chic.
He shot his Mother and a bunch of little kids. That hard drive was the key, someone on a forum was getting to him, I'm sure of it. Probably thought it was a big joke. Our thought it they found the perfect patsy.

"Compatriot"? Why whatever do you mean? Ben Shapiro is from LA. Try to remember that it's not Jews you Israel-bashers have a problem with, just the Zionist Entity, there's a good little anti-semite.
Speaking of jackasses, can anyone tell me how anybody can take Piers Morgan seriously? Honestly, he's such a buffoon. I actually don't think he's smart or dignified enough to share a network with Soledad O'Brien, and that puts him in an impressively select company.
Ha! Soledad must be thrilled working along side Piers...
Boy!
OK Confession here, I am a Brit. Been here 31 years.
I know these intellectual slobs of the British left who think they have a monopoly of compassion and intelligence. Upper class twits I call them.
Anyhoo, didn't that "standing on the graves of dead children" sting the cnut? Oooh, that left a mark.
The twit does not get that the American people take their rigth of defense against a government tyranny very seriously.
@Black Mamba, Ben Shapiro is from LA, and Binyamin Meleikovsky is from Pennsylvania. Close enough for government work.
Black Mamba, are we Seriously still dealing with the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" tinfoil hat crowd?
That crap was debunked as a false flag hoax 30 or 40 YEARS ago. Still persists, perhaps as a testament to successful propaganda.
Sad, thought, that propaganda can last for generations.
I wonder if "global warming" will last through the cold years to come.

Any guesses as to what Piers Morgan thinks about Michael Savage’s rights to free speech after being banned from speaking in the UK?
Someone should ask him.
Here’s Michael Savage talking about Piers Morgan Sep 25/12:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGTnr-yCmfM
dwright, you do not get it, do you? All you do is play like Piers Morgan, Jesse Jackson, etc. therefore illustrating my point.
You're the only one who brings up some Protocols which are false. So aside from invoking anti-Shemiut and Protocols do you have any other labels you wish to plaster around?
CNN senior producer gets all snippy about Ben Shapiro on twitter. As Ace points out, Shapiro was "an invited guest, invited by the network to do precisely what he did, that is, offer a reasoned and strong defense of gun rights".

Hahaha...The smackdown continues...as I said earlier, Andrew Brietbart inspired some tough, smart kids.
I watched Piers Morgan's interview with Alex Jones and now his interview with Ben Shapiro.
In both cases (I don't make a habit of watching the British Twit), he brought up completely irrelevant issues: "Let me ask you this ... "
STFU, Piers, you IDIOT. 'Always an irrelevant question to sidetrack his prey, for that's what anyone on the Right is to entitled, Lefty, a**hole Morgan.
The only good news in all of this, is that if CNN has to rely on this bottom-feeder in prime time, it's on the way out. My take on all of the bad news, bad actors, is that the beast, with a spear through it's heart, is thrashing its tail to take out all the enemies it can -- but it is dying.
If that's not the scenario, then we're well and truly fried: Piers Morgan, Barack Obama, Teepee Theresa, the Ghost of Jack Layton Past, Chris Spence, etc., etc..
'Prayer time.
As much as I despise Piers myself (I think he's a poncey pr!ck, frankly), this succession of guests from the right side of the political spectrum is, in fact, keeping him on the air, and that is likely the plan. Expect to see a lot more of this in the weeks to follow.
Wow! I keep getting my comments held by the administrator which never see the light of day.
I'm wondering what the problem is. I don't use profanity, or at least if I do, I use **. I'm not aware of making overly sensitive remarks. I have mentioned Al*x J*ones. Is that a problem?
Governments are not benevolent nor are they anyones friend.Governments fear of their own peoples is and are the only controlling influence that Governments adhere to... the only one.

Morgan, a Poncey Prick?
Hardly. Just another inflamed hemorrhoid.
WRT to the topic of "bullying", this seems to be a favorite of the statist crowd in education now. Rather than the technique we were taught as kids; take up boxing, get in shape and the next time the bully bothers you beat the crap out of him, kids nowadays are being taught to run to their government protectors who will deal with the bad "bullies". What is being characterized as "bullying" now will soon include anything which might potentially offend someone and what kids learn from this is to become conformist and not express their opinions. I've had run ins with some of the people in mental health I work with when I totally refuse to have anything to do with "anti-bullying" campaigns citing what worked for me when I was a kid and how a few well placed punches ended any concerns I had about bullying.
So, given the tendency of leftists to invert everything, expect to be accused of being a "bully" if you stand up to their bullying tactics.
As has been noted here before, those of us in favor of liberty have been reluctant to use the tactics of the left. At this point in the battle we have to to get a lot more vocal about our disagreements with moonbats and be fully prepared to utilize defensive violence should the situation call for it. The most important thing I've found is to attack a persons ideas rather than the person. That, combined with a refusal to go along with statist policies will have a much bigger impact than what most of us currently do which is keeping a low profile in our occupational lives (as I'm doing writing under a pseudonym). However, if one is attacked physically, one has the right to defend oneself and we should fully exercise that right. Just make sure your opponent throws the first punch before applying adequate retaliatory force to reduce his threat level to zero.
The central issue in mass shootings is not causality and the argument of "the drugs did it" is just as inane as "the guns were responsible" when it comes to school shootings. We're a society obsessed with causality, especially lawyers. The truth which is that for complex systems acausal events are very frequent seems to be profoundly disturbing to a lot of people who have a very deterministic view of reality. Anything bad that happens must be caused by someone or something - we no longer burn witches at the stake in N. America, but instead we blame "pollution" for human cancers, and "chemical contamination" for incidents of mass symptoms which are far better explained as mass hysteria. Seeing as no-one wants to admit that they're susceptible to hysterical symptoms, millions of dollars have been spent on totally useless investigations as a result. Mass hysteria was well known thousands of years ago which is one of the reasons it's a good idea to stay away from large crowds of leftists.
Most leftists have an idealized view of human nature which dates back to Rousseau's "noble savage" and there is no such thing as an evil person; just evil social influences which they're doing their best to stamp out. Those of us who deal with reality on a daily basis, especially if our profession involves hacking meatware, are very aware that humans are fundamentally flawed. I sometimes am amazed that we've managed to create anything after one of my days where every patient is depressed and I get a sense of how close to the edge a lot of people are in terms of their mental health. That's why I'd much rather deal with simple medical problems like heart failure, acute renal failure and things that are solvable applying basic physiology.
Leftists are profoundly fearful of weapons because they don't trust themselves to have them. A very common defense mechanism of gun banners is projection and they assume that just because they worry that if they had a gun that they'd start shooting school children, every other person feels that way. Piers Morgan is someone that should never be allowed near guns as I would worry about what he'd do in that situation.
Complex systems break down which is we try to build antifragility into things. All of the leftist solutions are profoundly fragile; distributed self organizing systems are antifragile and tolerate disruptions far better than rigid centralized systems. Having a population where many people are armed is far more antifragile than a disarmed population where the response to any armed assault is a centralized police response. Aside from the fact that this police response has finite resources, the clever attacker, ie Brievik, can create enough distractions to tie up all police resources and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of sheeple hunting in a safe, state mandated, target rich environment. In the distributed defensive system of most people being armed, most school shooters would be dead before they had a chance to wipe out whole classrooms of kids.
No matter what safeguards are in place, people are going to snap. This is not predictable and I don't even attempt to predict someones risk of suicide any more as the ones that are successful don't give any warning of what they're going to do. As it's impossible to eliminate all weapons from a society, the only solution that's going to reduce the death toll from deranged mass murderers is a distributed defense system. I think it was Lott who found that the the number of mass murders in a state that allows concealed carry is significantly less frequent than in states that don't trust their people to be armed. We've seen what has happened in Britain as a result of the disarming of the population and not allowing people to defend themselves at all. I suggest we send Piers Morgan back there and, maybe after he's been mugged a few times he might change his opinion, that is if he was capable of rational thought.
