Estrada called it "ridiculous" to link the name of the new school to violence in the community. "What the mainstream calls a murderer and a thief was actually an outstanding individual who was highly educated, cultured and embraced the fine arts," he said.

Estrada apparently didn't study logic. One can be both cultured and a murder.

The guy just killed white people. It's not like that is murder. Riel started out a common thief, stealing goods from a store owner. The police came and he killed a bunch of them thereby graduating to murder. Then he lead armed resistance against the Canadian Army graduating to treason. He's a hero too.
