Tatunka!

Though I do wonder if the judge now understands how lawful gun owners feel...?

Love this chat between Adler and Lily.

We get it, we've hashed it over, and finally John Q is talking about it.

Now...could Adler, Levant and Lily please now focus on the lies about C45 being 'destructive to the environment'. There are a lot of people, non-natives, falling for that delusional message.

I sympthize with the police. No matter what they do, they will be seen as the bad guy. Still they were told to remove the blockade and that is their job. They should be approached by the politicians, who are the real reason we are in this position, and told that if the police don't obey the law the should turn in their guns and badges. If a police chief refuses, he should be fired and if needed be brought before a judge in handcuffs. Of course this sets up the problem of politicians not only writing the law, but enforcing it as well which brings us to a true police state. We should never have got to this point.

"Of course this sets up the problem of politicians not only writing the law, but enforcing it as well which brings us to a true police state. We should never have got to this point."

And we got to this point because of cowardice, comfort, greed and selfishness...oh, and with more than a few dashes of ignorance and stupidity.

I know there is a broket 99 joke about this somewhere!!!

Just for a laugh

Warning some swearing is involved!!

"I sympthize with the police"- Ted High.

Not in the least!
They (the brass) suckholed and asskissed the politicos looking for favour and personal promotion, at the expense of their own integrity!
Then, the moment the situation calls for decisive action, they're conflicted- do what they know in their heart-of-hearts is right, or tuck tail and equivocate?!!
Bastards!

Ted High says "If a police chief refuses, he should be fired and if needed be brought before a judge in handcuffs. Of course this sets up the problem of politicians not only writing the law, but enforcing it as well which brings us to a true police state."

Not quite. The judge issues a court order....if the cops don't enforce it, they are in contempt of court and should be handled like any other person who does not obey a court order.

It's really not just about natives. It's about everyone who can even slightly be termed 'a special interest group member'. As a white, male, employed Canadian I constantly feel like the guy in the prison shower bending over to pick up the soap.

Personally, I'd like to see a railway blockade by anyone with a beef be, ahem, interrupted by a Via Rail train going 140kph. Hwy 401 protestors could have a similar unfortunate experience with a convoy of 18 wheelers whose operators income depends on their punctuality.

Both instances would be a shame. A damn, dirty shame. I like that.

I have no doubt this will be Harper's fault:

Or George Bush's. Or AGW...

Joey; If you are in comtempt of court, the judge issues a bench warrant and you are arrested, with being handcuffed and brought to the court to explain why you didn't either show for jury duty, speeding ticket- if you didn't pay or decided to fight, or didn't obey a court injunction. I know from experience this will happen. I do agree with you about the police are not above the law.

Spense aka. Chief Escalade on the Rez, is the perfect poster princess to focus public scrutiny on the tribalistic nepotism, corruption, graft and greed that exists in some aboriginal reserve governments. This wouldn't be tolerated in any other municipal government in Canada with a similar budget.

Yes, reserve governments run on a different set of rules.

The Chief and Finance Manager, Common-Law partners, skim a quarter million declared income off the top for themselves and the rest is inequitably distributed among the community of about 300 households, such that some live in 3rd world squalor. Then they stage a media event to coerce the government into giving them more money for the people they neglected. That's gross negligence, perhaps with criminal implications. The facts will come to light.

Taxpayers deserve a full and transparent accounting of all money we give the aboriginal reserve governments. As well, accounting for the entire government aboriginal administration should be transparently disclosed to show the 'overhead' they charge on the tax dollars we give to the aboriginal communities.

when cops become community activists...................

A different set of rules for native peoples in Canada, was read into law by the SCOC last year.

I disagree with this court decision in all ways. Courts were put in place to keep people that were deemed dangerous away from those who are not.
Not to decide on hocus pocus faux social justice matters.

All people in the country should have the same rules to abide by.

The OPP commissioner in Ontario is a full fledged Native and a close relative of the completely dead Dudley George. George was the upstart that was 'assassinated" by then Premier Mike Harris.
No wonder the cops sit on their asses whenever a Native issue arises.
To understand just how politically driven this force is , I suggest one read Christie Blatchford's
Helpless.

One Law For All.

And there is yet another set of laws for Peter Penashue, the Aboriginal the media love to hate. Of course, he is Conservative .....

The Commissioner,Chris D.Lewis certainly doesn't look Indian,Rick.

Although neither does Theresa Spence.

From Wikipedia:"He was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Field Operations by Fantino effective January 1, 2007. As Deputy Commissioner, Lewis oversaw the creation of the OPP’s aboriginal policing bureau and has studied aboriginal government and law.[1]

He has been in charge of the OPP's operation managing the conflict between Native protesters and non-Native residents in Caledonia throughout his tenure as deputy commissioner.[1]"

Old joke from 1980s, Join the biggest street gang in the country. The RCMP want you.
Once special rules apply, there is no laws.
The liberals have undermined the rule of law for years. The law is a tool to punish opposition.
But they whine like the losers they are, when the law is applied to them.
But it sure frees a man of confusion, once you recognize there is no law, then the enforcers have as much authority as you give them.
The cure to the present bureaucratic malaise crippling our society.
Fire everyone with more than 5 years service.
Cancel all the social science crud.
Negative long service awards.
