Days of Anarchy?

Is Canada about to be paralyzed for a day or more? OPP Commissioner Chris Lewis appears to have given the green light to those who wish to do so.

Throughout Wednesday, please feel free to post first-hand accounts from your community, with links to photos & videos if you have them.

Update: Idle No More backfires . . . BIG TIME: Audio clip from Charles Adler's show

What utter rubbish.

If the protest was filled with Linda Gibbons-types, the OPP couldn't arrest them fast enough.

The Idle No More movement has organised a national shakedown with a motley crew of professional grievance-mongers who are not adverse to violence and lawlessness. If the OPP let a new Caledonia happen, it's time to consider a privatised police force. Someone has to protect those who cannot protect themselves and it sure as hell isn't the "service" I'm seeing.

The OPP has done such a good job at Caledonia, and on a not even comparable note, the Calgary Police have done a swell job of ticketing hundreds of tax payers in Calgary after our recent snow, while the next day, they looked away as one of the busy overpasses was blocked for this idiocy.

It was good to hear @ 5.15 regarding that "freedom to association" or lack of, in Canada..

What an utterly useless person this Top Cop is! He should be ordered to enforce the law,and arrested if he doesn't comply.

I sent a message to PM to invoke the War Measures Act.....send in the army! (like that would ever happen)

Ah yes. The leftie jackboots are moving along quite nicely in Morontario I see. Problem is,one of these worthless pieces of crap(from Tarana) is now Edmonton's new top jackboot. And "cops" are wondering why the respect for them is dropping faster than a whore's drawers on sailor payday??

Historically full blown Democracy's have a shelf life of 200 years before the carpet baggers, cons & lawless start destroying it. Canada as its own Nation is almost there. Along with the fact we where a people here long before Independence. We've had Good run. The barbarians are now taking over along with the Hidden elite. Until of course a strong man shows up to eradicate any real human rights in the name of freedom.

Time to charge the Chief of Police with contempt of court for failing to abide by a court order. Maybe that will smarten up the next one in the chain. If the police won't do their job, then the government will have little option but to bring in the troops and that would be a major escalation.

This native crap has been going on for years but the porky "dieter" has acted as a catalyst for people with false pride. Taking handouts and acting outraged when asked to account for the money while claiming to be a superior stone-age culture is delusional at best. Get some real pride, earn your own money "warriors". I met a Mountie up in Yellowknife years ago who had to distribute welfare cheques; he had a widow in the community with a pile of uncut wood and a young buck came in for his cheque - the Mountie asked him to cut the wood before he handed over the cheque. Guess what happened to the poor Mountie? The bureaucracy descended from on high and he was lucky to keep his scarlet tunic. People who live on handouts and refuse to contribute to society deserve no recognition and all the contempt we, as real Canadians, can muster.

Apparently my ears weren't deceiving me when I heard this on the radio tonight. It'll be interesting to see how other jurisdictions handle their duties.

Right you are, Aviator.....That clown IS in contempt of court. Ontario sure has a weird concept of upholding the law. They charge a guy for scaring off some scum trying to burn his house to the ground and they let these seditionists get away with whatever the hell they want.

As for the War Measures Act (Maxine mentioned it earlier), that legislation has been replaced by the Emergencies Act. But it could be used. Time to dust off the Criminal Code. If Chris Lewis won't uphold the law, maybe citizens will.

Looks as if the perpetually idle aren't happy with just 69% of Canadians having a dim view of how Indians manage their affairs and are doing their best to jack up the numbers.

What I suggest is that people congregate at any Indian blockade and start filming the local gestapo hanging out there. If they try to harass you, point out that the gestapo have been the primary ones pushing for public surveillance cameras and you're just helping them out. It would help to have several people filming simultaneously. If the Ontario Political Police are in violation of a court order, then one has every right to gather evidence for a contempt of court action which can be initiated by a citizens group.

Also, for anyone who is delayed by the failure of the OPP to clear idle idiots from roadways, keep careful track of the time one has been delayed and sent the OPP an invoice for the time they've cost you. In my case, I charge $6/minute for someone interrupting my time off. The other option is to organize a class action lawsuit against the OPP by anyone who is inconvenienced by the illegal activities of the perpetually idle.

What I suspect will happen is that the gestapo will have no tolerance for anyone asserting their rights of free speech guaranteed under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms unless they're of the politically correct skin color in which case they can do as they please regardless of how much it inconveniences the public. So, if people are going to confront the gestapo, go in groups with multiple photographers. It's perfectly legal to take photographs in public regardless of cops attempts at intimidation and that's what they're going to do. They don't like it when people stand up to them and the main thing is for you to stay calm and let the cop lose it. What we need is a clear illustration of the double standard that's being applied (although there seems to be gaping scotoma for places like Caledonia in the vision of politicians). It's going to get ugly, but then one can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.

If a province defaults on managing it's debt, Ottawa will step in and take over fiscal management.

Shouldn't Ottawa be doing the same thing with the administration of Justice in Ontario?

McQuintyland, is a failed state. Call the U.N. Security Council for assistance.

Canada withstood over 10,000 casualties in one battle at Vimy Ridge.
Over 24,000 casualties at the Battle of the Somme.

Canada is now paralyzed in fear over ONE casualty at Ipperwash.

Such cowardice is UNPRECEDENTED in world history.

If the commissioner of the OPP had concerns about what he was being asked to do he should have raised them in private with his bosses and they could have discussed it. The moment he started questioning his orders in public he should have been fired.

This is a matter that the police are only going to make worse by procrastinating on. Once the leftists idiots think they can get away with something they will push and push. It would have been way easier to stomp on them in the beginning than when we have a full blown insurrectionist.

In the past, we all more or less wanted the same things out of a civilization and there was civil debate among our politicians about how to achieve it. Now we have one side that wants to destroy that civilization. The time for civil debate is over. They must be put in their place.

They're too busy pulling innocent people over for impaired driving checks and for going a few miles per hour over the speed limit. Plus hanging around at grocery stores asking for donations. Who has time to enforce the law?

Dystopian has it exactly right. This goes back to Ipperwash, when Harris actually ordered the OPP to get the f'ers out of the park. One tragedy in the dark has now lead to this. The main reason this tragedy exploded is because McGuinty made a deliberate decision to fan the flames by holding a public inquiry in a useless attempt to bury Harris after his retirement. The media of course piled on because they hated Harris even more than McGuinty does, and the inquiry gave them something to write about that fit their ideology. The OPP takes their orders from the government, and while I was no fan of Fantino or the current guy, their is no question where the orders come from. McGuinty tied his own hands with the rhetoric he used after Ipperwash. The police are a paramilitary organization, and I would not want them to make this type of decision on their own. Let's put the blame where it truly belongs.

So are 30-round magazines and semi-automatic rifles legal up there? Carbines for close-in work. Bolt-action long guns in an appropriate caliber for when you need to "reach out and touch someone". Our festivities South of the Border will be starting shortly. Why not join the fun? The enemy is the same on BOTH sides of the border...

Ummmmmmm....

You voted Democrat. We can tell.

The OPP does nada and the coverage honks off more of the population against their cause.

They are useful idiots to their leftard advisors using the 1960's playbook that everyone is tired of.

Meanwhile, What I'm wondering out loud is...who's coffers (political) did the missing money get diverted to?

Randy Fleming's broken elbow will never be forgotten.
OPP arrested him for resisting arrest, but could not explain to the judge what was he going to be arrested for before alleged resisting occurred.

OPP stands for Dalton's private army. Or who's in the office today?

So far, so good at the Bluewater bridge here. CBSA has announced that all lanes will be open to accommodate the expected increase in traffic due to the Windsor Ambassador bridge blockade.
The local Rez has not announced any disruptions except the Reservation's Day Care folks will be taking their wee charges on a demonstration march near the bridge. I do believe that is a form of child abuse and should not be permitted. It is not yet 9:00AM so we don't expect things to heat up for a while.
The demonstrators do live on "Indian Time". Many of us are speculating whether or not the local police service will send Sergeant Two-Whiskies out again to participate in the drum beating thing.

Actually our idiot OPP commish doesn't currently have a boss, he reports to the empty chair McGuinty left, so I guess he's not real worried about any consequences from his public lunacy.

Just heard that Idle No More will be blocking the QE2 just outside Edmonton between 1 and 2 today. Guess I will be finding an alternate route into Edmonton this afternoon. Will be phoning (and emailing) my MP and MLA this morning. I have huge issues with our "conservative" government here in Alberta which has become blind, deaf and dumb. Wonder if I and some like-minded fiscal conservatives could protest and shut down the highway - yea, right.....

McGuinty's return to office was a solid endorsement for the continuation of the resolute inacivity that the OPP undertook at Caledonia. So, Lewis is exactly the kind of police 'leader' that Ontario (a) voted for, (b) deserves.

But, I don't hear 'Tiger' Tim Hudak beating his election tom-tom and demanding that Ontario's finest enforce the laws consistently, equally and promptly.

some canadians are so stupid it defies description. this nonsense with the indians has to stop. period.

I'll just make sure to have a few Metis signs with me whenever I and my friends decide to blockade Hwy #1.

Dystopian is right in saying Ipperwash is the ghost in the background. I suspect that the police are playing a waiting game and hoping that if they do not overreact this Idle No More movement will fizzle out. They do not want the equivalent of the 1905 Bloody Sunday occurring here.

But, considering the coalition of Idle No More and anti-Gateway protesters broke into the Gateway hearings in Vancouver yesterday, that anarchy is starting to prevail and the time is fast approaching for police action backed up by the military to start.

I suspect that unfortunately economic disruption is not that much of a consideration by the authorities.

Those protest are not only illegal they are a violation of Treaty Nine which clearly states they cannot prevent the movement of citizens on lands they ceded to the crown. Thus we all have a basis to file class action lawsuits against the police and native band leaders that participate, also all funding to bands participating should be halted until the courts deal with their alleged treaty violation.

This is good. The more the police abndon their duty and the more the Native radicals take agdvantage of it to engage in lawlessness, the more they will lose public support and prompt a Federal solution. That looming solution will be the sovereigty they claim to want - but with sovereignty comes responsibility for your own affairs.I can see the whole native entitlement industry collapsing with the reform of the reserve system.

Loki said: "What I suggest is that people congregate at any Indian blockade and start filming the local gestapo hanging out there."

It would be helpful for the future of the country if people do that, but as a resident of the Caledonia area, and as somebody who took pictures and got pulled over with the full-on combat stop tactics by a car full of twitchy twenty-something year old OPP officers...

...go as a group. The larger the number of people filming, the safer you will be. Do -not- try this video crap solo, the OPP will most assuredly kick your @ss.

We still remember the way they tackled wheezy, fat old Garry McHale a few years ago. The guy is a half crippled ton of butter and they took him down like Rodney King. Hit from two sides, dumped in the dirt with full face plant, then the knee on the neck while they cuffed him. Pictures worth a thousand words.

http://www.caledoniawakeupcall.com/topics/AttackMcHale.html

That's one of probably ten such take-downs I've heard about during the Caledonia affair these last years, always cops tackling/hitting/kicking townspeople who are either standing around or defending their own property from "protesters".

The "protesters" of course are a whole different ball game, one of their favorite sports is rock throwing. And by rocks I mean chunks of concrete heaved off high places, if they can manage it. They keep score by the number of ambulances called to the scene.

So, just be aware what you're dealing with and govern yourselves accordingly. I don't want to read here tomorrow that somebody got their face bashed in.

Well, the Tsawout band is going to block the Pat Bay Hwy for "30 minutes" (YEAH, RIGHT), with the full blessing of the Central Saanich police, RCMP and Ministry of transportation. This is the main highway to the Swartz Bay terminal to Vancouver from Victoria.

Do the police enforce the law equally, or is this, as it looks like PANDERING to a potential terrorist group making threats "let us do this, or else"

This whole 'movement' is such a farce from the get go. Yet the natives have somehow convinced themselves that they own everything, and its just a matter of time. They live in a fantasy world of make believe and denial. One really starts to wonder if the natives, as a race, are truly less intelligent than others. Whether that is influenced by the drugs, alcohol, and abuse is left to speculation.

One thing I do know, is that when their young people (25 and younger) start spewing nonsense about residential schools, for which they were NEVER a part of, and decades removed from, it is a rehearsed play of which they know nothing, and has no reason why they are layabouts.

My great grandfather was killed in WW II. Would that justify my life being an absolute wreck?

By the way, I'm all for granting these reserves 100% self-rule. Make them separate countries with no legal contact with Canada at all. Great idea.

Then stop the checks and put up border points. Chief Escalade wants his reserve to be a foreign nation, let it BE ONE then.

Still able to buy illegal Indian smokes at the Chinese video stores and live invasive big head carp here at Spadina and Dundas, so the strike hasn't affected the essential services yet.

"Whether you like it or not"
There's a union official looking out for us eh, we're in good hands.

If Big Chief Chrissy of the public sector union acronym and his bunch of overpaid union douche bags with body armor and guns we're not allowed to have weren't facing the wrong way at every single demonstration the OTHER union paid professional activists BEHIND them wouldn't have the ability to do anything.
After witnessing anti Israel, (Thanks Kathy Shaidle) Tamil Tiger and G20 State enforced mayhem first hand, I can attest that it is the COPS that stop the people from running Black Block, Hamas, Hezbula, Tamil Tigers, and Mohawk Warriors over in the street. The COPS are the enforcers, they have the same interests as the professional complainers. It's a SCAM and we're caught between the twin pincers of union grievance funded agitators and the fat union bureaucrats with guns that make sure the grievance industry can shut down what ever they desire, when ever they want to. All against our will, FORCED by the monopoly of violence we've handed to the STATE bureaucrat elite.

Wither STATE.
One Law For All.

I hate to be a bother but the captcha done captcha ma post.

That reserve is now filled with grow ops and it's basically a criminal enterprise. Not sure what kind of deal they've made with the hells angels on that one.

So what are they trying to achieve?

1. Gain sympathy from "settler" Canadians? This is likely to do the exact opposite.

2. Get their way through force and intimidation? Again ain't going to happen. No one feels in the least bit intimidated except maybe the OPP. Most Canadians just feel disgusted.

3. Gain publicity for their grievances? These actions might help if they had a coherent and specific list of grievances that Canadians could relate to. But like the OWS movement, such a list seems beyond them.

Back in the early C68 days, when AG Bryant ran the OPP and they were running around seizing senior's gun safes, they were known as the Ontario Political Police, or sometimes just "JBTs" for short, something that got the rank and file quite upset in blog conversation. Of course, this was all just more of the benevolent Premier Dad schtick. Nothing has changed, except they've promoted a seriously useless metro-sexual wimp in as commissioner. He's a disgrace to the uniform, and has surrendered any right he has to call himself a cop. They didn't sign up to be bouncers at children's birthday parties.

The internet prevents me from expressing my solution to the First Nutbar problem, but suffice to say if it had been employed on day one of Douglas Creek Estates, we wouldn't be where we are today.

And, why is is Teresa Spence not already in jail?

And I'm sorry, but Tim Hudak is Chris Lewis without either balls or a gun. People need to remember, Ontario doesn't have a conservative party. The Progressive Conservatives are only slightly less left of the Liberals, and nowhere near as savvy. Ontario needs a real conservative party.

Well, we in Ontario can sit back with our popcorn and watch the show, because nothing else will be able to happen. When we get bored with cowgirls and indians, we can watch our cousins in New York State try to reclaim their Second Amendment. Never in my lifetime, did I think I'd see the day where in Ontario I'd have more gun rights than an American... Of couse, gun laws on either side of the border mean nothing to the Frist Whiners.

#PAYNOMORE #IDLEFOREVER - spread it around.

It is time for judges whose injunctions are not being enforced to issue summons to local police chiefs and the OPP Commissioner to explain their inaction. Let these senior police say if they were following orders from politicians or (in)acting on their own. Identify all politicians and bureaucrats involved. Canadians have a right to know if politicians are behind this, or if police have decided on their own to stop enforcing the law and court orders.

The parasites are having a walk today down a highway and into the city of Regina. The cops are leading them into the city.We just got freezing rain and snow the roads are like skating rinks and they are still going to let these "Welfare Warriors" bottleneck traffic. You would think the Police would have better things to do than be "Glorified Parade Marshals" for these terrorists. What a disgrace.!!!!

I completely concur with the comments above -- Ken, Loki, Jamie, Skip, Phantom, Greg (particularly), Dystopian (entirely on point), and others.

I'd just add, by way of an after-thought to their great comments, that, given the current state of play, one could draw a comparison between what's happened to the OPP in recent years (and other Ontario police forces willing to play along) with what the federal Liberals tried to do with our armed forces in the sixties -- make them into a "peace-keeping" outfit: you know, not really taking any sides, just sort of Pearsonian "honest brokers" on the ground, and all that, blah, blah, blah.

All of this nonsense, which, as a matter of historical record, is precisely what it is, came crashing down, pretty much literally, at about 10:30 a.m. on September 11, 2001 (the day, IMO, the new Conservative Party was born).

Must we wait another forty or fifty years for this wrong to be corrected, under duress, in respect of our own police forces?

According to Mr. Harper and Mr. MacKay, you are entitled to an air force with global reach (for the first time in Canadian history). On the other hand, according to Mr. Martin (who thinks that Ms. Spence is an inspiration to all Canadians), you need to ask permission from the Russians to do anything...

"One really starts to wonder if the natives, as a race, are truly less intelligent than others. Whether that is influenced by the drugs, alcohol, and abuse is left to speculation."

Dan,there was a university of Manitoba study done a few years back on the incidence of FAS on Manitoba Reserves. The FAS numbers were extremely high, if I remember correctly,it was 17% or more of babies born on Rez were FAS or FAE.

It's several times the national rate of those conditions. That may explain the actions of some of these people.

So cop does not want to do his job?
Why does he expect a pay check and pension then?
Same for all these actors we call politicians and bureaucrats.

The rule of law, equality before the law, is the foundation of the shared illusion we call civil society, AKA civilization.
Government is nothing more than a bunch of actors, we hired to perform a morality play.
This morality play is designed to maintain the illusion, that we can engage in productive activity and survive.
As belief in civilization falls, so does productivity.

Instead of creating wealth, I must now spend energy ensuring I survive the attention of thieves and a rapacious government.
And this spring, like every preceding spring, the Minister of Finance will announce,"Productivity in Canada is falling".
Well duh, govt already steals over 1/2 the return on my labour and now allows criminals to run riot, for sure I'm gonna work harder for this.
The law of unintended consequences is never understood by liberals, actors nor thieves.

If the clowns in our political bureaucracy can not perform the roles, they begged us for the opportunity to play, or they can not read the script, why should I feed them?
There is good reason we hang them for treason.

OPP.

Ontario Provincial Pansies

It's OWS, but with Indians. What could go wrong?

What the hell has happened to Porkahontas? Last time the media covered her was last Friday. Tomorrow is Thursday and she hasn't been mentioned in the media since. Is she dead? did she take a position with Enbridge? Did she run out of money and return to the Rez for more? It looks like her 15 minutes of fame are over and it's back to the business of bulking up after her diet of fish & moose.

The Ipsos-Reid fellow on the Adler broadcast points out the obvious.

Those in the west are more likely to disapprove of idle no more/spence because we have more contact with natives. That is the reality that the CBC crowd can not appreciate.

Police Chiefs are much like Indian Chiefs. They say things are out of their control and ask for more money.

Yeah, but Ahmadinejad in Iran might be impressed! Canadians are too familiar with reality to swallow the Idle No More rhetoric, especially when the soft-bellied warriors insult the rest of us. Smart, they are NOT.
