  1. well if a thief says it is ok, then everything mus tbe just fine.
She looks like Dulton Mk2, a big government nanny stater who wants to increase the waste of money on useless greenie windmills/bird shredders

  2. Wynne is NO Liberal, the infiltration is complete, the NDP now have a mole pretending to be the Liberal Premier…
It’s carved in stone she will make a deal with the NDP opposition bypassing any election.
I can’t decide which of the two evils is worse…
Pupatella and the old guard keeping parliment prorogued and continuing to pillage Ontarions until if and when she should ever win a seat.
    or
A card carrying gay NDP’r(Wynne) who will side with her socialist cousins and make Daltons deficit look like childsplay…
Say goodbye to any investigations into the Dalton gangs thievery, any deals between Wynne and the NDP will nullify and ongoing comittees and/or investigations.
    It’s a bloody shame.

  3. I don’t place any more importance on her sexual preferences than her choice of cars or favorite colour. Unless she believes everyone in Ontario should drive her brand or wear her colour. If she believes she has a mandate to push a lesbian agenda in our schools, then the sparks will fly.
2000 Liberals make her premier and the media thinks the voters all agree. Typical.
By the way, her partner appears to be a nice fellow.

  4. Nice to see Svend could squeak in a few words about her amidst his extensive recollections of his past glories.

  5. how did Ed Broadbent put it at the time
“Me and entire NDP party now stand behind Sven on this one”
how about Richard Hatfield – the first more than effing obviously gay , who was caught giving accompanying young men cocaine and had a large doll collection .
if this is the first thing on her agenda then ontario is in trouble

  6. “Can a gay woman win?”
Possibly not, but her sexual orientation will have nothing to do with it. First, she inherits all of the baggage of the McGuinty regime. All of those who already dislike the Liberals will have no reason to change their views because of Wynne.
Second, she’s further to the left of McGuinty. The only real question now is how much further the Liberal support erodes on the right.
Third, Syd Ryan has already served notice that a mere change in leadership is not enough. At the very least he wants a complete government backdown on their attempts, limited as they are, to rein in the public sector unions.
Where this gets ugly is that, when and if Wynne’s re-election fails, Ontario voters will be accused of bigotry if they don’t vote for her. Look for this as a not so subtle election campaign issue next time around.

  7. If she believes she has a mandate to push a lesbian agenda in our schools, then the sparks will fly.
“Has” a mandate? Not only does she have a mandate, she damned well had one when she was minister of Ed.
Sparks fly? Don’t make me laugh. This is Ontario. You now, the province that allows Muslim prayers in secular schools, sex education for 6-year olds, and distributes pamphlets on oral sex to pre-teens.
    Sparks my arse.

  8. The economic future of Ontario, from have, to have not ,to have nothing.(but debt)
When the delusional and the takers dominate the polling booth, makers have freedom of choice, must stop producing or move to where production is rewarded.
When govt punishes production, thro tax and asinine regulation, surprise, production drops.
Surprise is only amongst the political bureaucracy that believes they control the means of production.
This conceit has always amazed me, the nonproductive, thro choice or natural incompetence, seek positions of authority so they can advise and regulate the productive members of society.
So the parasites , know better than their host, how to produce a healthy host?
Well it works, productivity has fallen steadily in Canada and we are $600 billion in debt.
    A success by govt standards.

  9. One must sit in awe at the superficial reason and contempt for voter intellect the Liberal spinners have. Marketing a “gay” leader has in itself no inherent advantage as being gay is no special endowment of leadership or governing ability. The only value this may have is to “trick” shallow progressives (steeped in revisionist identity politics dogma), into a reflex vote.
Meanwhile, middle class Ontario is out of work, downsizing, feeling the austerity of deindustrialization compounded with crushing taxation and the degeneration of government services due to political influence and hegemonic unionism – most notably health care, schooling, the police function and the justice system. All of this due to Liberal abandonment of duty and mismanagement of the public purse.
I fail to see how a premier’s personal sexual preferences will impact this in any way.

  10. The big question now is: how will Andrea Horvath respond?
Since she and Wynne are virtually the same politically, will Horvath believe that the people of Ontario would rather have a real woman as opposed to a “WINO” (woman in name only) running things? Or will she fear that a snap election will split the socialist vote, and let Tim “Who-dat?” run up the middle?
I spent a lot of the last year alternately sneering and despairing that the best the US could come up with were Mittens and Bambam, but the choices in Ontario are 1) rabid socialist, 2) unnatural rabid socialist, and 3) conservative non-entity.
    Ugh.

  11. In Wynne’s victory speech she mentioned “social justice”,which is the best indicator of where she’s coming from.
Yes, “cgh”, this is change for the worse, and if all you Ontarians don’t vote for her, you’re homophobes.

  12. JR, well said!
Career politicians have nothing to give society, they are takers which manipulate the facts and figures through graphs and power-point presentations (the modern day shell game) in an attempt to manipulate the masses.
Wynne will continue to extract the life out of the people, thinking she is actually bringing benefit to the society. Much like what Sven believes he has done through his ground-breaking coming out, Wynne will try and capitalize on her gayness. To disagree with her, you will be smacked down as homophobic or intolerant, as the media will portray any detractors as dinosaurs.
Wynne, like Svend will be most famous for being the “first”, not their policies or his contributions to Canada. I ask any of our readers what legislation Sven brought to Canada which has actually improved the quality of life for the average Canadian? How much money did the taxpayers of Canada spend to keep Svend alive and what did he actually give back to his community, including those in his riding who were involved in the minutia of everyday political life?
One of the most curious statements in Wynne’s Wiki page stated that “she was a member of the discipline committee of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists from 1997 to 2000.” How does one get such jobs? Is there a course for this somewhere?

  13. Gee! I wish I owned shares in a moving company!! The number of people who will be packing up and leaving Ontario will be staggering. It may make the exodus out of Californica look tame. I don’t think we have enough housing for ’em all here in B.C.

  14. “From my home in Switzerland ….”.
From which phrase, presumably, we are to infer, “After my cruel, merciless persecution in Canada” eh, Svend?
All rights advocacy if not ended when the goal is achieved, becomes ugly, cankerous. It’s no longer about “gay rights”. It’s no longer about tolerance. It’s now about celebration.
The breathlessness in the phrase, “first openly gay” sickens me to my normally stainless steel stomach. The homosexual has been noblizied. Homosexuality has now been sacramentalized perhaps to the point where it might soon be felt to be an asset to feign gayness to exploit the noble grandeur now assigned to this condition.

  15. People will be sheeople. Why on earth should it be “courageous” for anyone to be elected to a government position. Some people voted for Obama simply because he is black and then have the audacity to point fingers at those who oppose him as “racists.” Are people who don’t give a damn about her sexual appetites going to be labeled as “homophobes” if they don’t think her up to snuff politically? I’d say that it would actually bode better for her to have “gay” on her ballot than the truth: “statist” or “collectivist.” Ignore the creeping global marxism folks… ooh look, a RAINBOW shiny pony!

  16. Well, it’s not at all helpful to Ms. Wynne’s case or cause to have Svend Robinson out there stumping for her.
Mr. McGuinty decided to pack it all in, IMO, over the financial and economic conundrums that he himself created, or allowed to be created on his watch — and which he evidently saw no way of resolving or reversing, if he ever truly understood them at all. I can anecdotally report, from contacts that I have in both fields, that such problems extend to education and health care (bewildering organizational things, well beyond the government-private sector or socialist-capitalist flashpoints we normally talk about here — with the partial exception of those Stinking Giant Fans). These problems appear to me to be far more vexing than the union-management conflict that Mr. (Sid) Ryan’s (partial) analysis offers.
In light of all that, I’d predict that the people of Ontario — whether they work in the public or private sector — will be voting for (or against, I suppose) a financial and economic plan that makes sense to them, and, further, one that offers a clearer (clear is way too much to expect at this stage) way forward as to the basic expectations and organization of services — whether those services are currently in the public sector, or soon to be privatized or disbanded.
If anyone needs a metaphor for what I’m talking about, try watching “Too big to Fail”, which I happened to see yesterday on IFC.
To start off a new premiership by willingly overlaying the on-point conversation with a wholly irrelevant consideration (that absolutely nobody wants to hear about — there is such as thing as too much information), complete with a notoriously unreliable supporter chiming in from Switzerland, absolutely will not work — for Ms. Wynne, or Ms. Horvath.

  17. I don’t care if she boinks her sofa, she is Dalton in drag and as he destroyed the province she drove the get-away car.

  18. I’d say Wynne doesn’t stand a chance… But she’s running against Hudak. The man who seized defeat from the very jaws of victory last election.
Being gay is a big plus in the white liberal parts of 416 area code Toronto, maybe Ottawa and that’s about it. Anywhere else, be it areas where rednecks rule or New Canadians do, not so much.
I think the best comment I’ve seen at SDA so far is the wag who predicted Wynne will follow the Kim Campbell career path.

  19. I don’t care who she is having sex with.
After Clinton, who a politician has going down on them doesn’t matter, or at least that’s what progressives keep telling us.

  20. My 10 free articles at the G&M has expired:(
Is there some way around this? Or should I remove it from my ‘favorites’?

  21. “Is Ontario ready for a gay Premier?”
Hell, why not? After all, we just had a dildo.

  22. F###ing Liberal grifters.
Big Gay right hand distracts while the left hand lifts your wallet.

  23. “From my home in Switzerland ….”.
I suppose if you want to be the first openly gay International Jewel Thief moving to Europe is a good start.

  24. Kevin, remember Churchill’s remark about Chamberlain in regard to Munich:
“He had a choice between shame and war: he chose shame; he will get war.”
Andrea will always choose shame — she even offered it up last week, before the fateful weekend — she adheres to a Laytonesque delusion that “Parliament can work”, even when there’s no parliament, and the party of which she’s the leader proposes to support the only party that’s behind her in the polls.
    War, please.

  25. I wonder if Svend daydreams about being Premier of B.C.?
Anyway the good News is Alberta hasn’t got the worse Premier now.
As for her enforcing GBLT agendas the TDSB has been doing that all along. Remember Veggie sex? The Gay child grooming business of the Nambla people, is in full bloom. Ask yourself where pedophiles go to get at young children? Sports, education, youth groups. Its their hunting grounds.
It wouldn’t surprise me if half the schools boards are run by gay militants who have lied for years about their real intentions. Including the magazines that are now so up front with it today. Because they feel there is no stigma attached to any form of deviancy, from children to animals, including self mutilation.
They hate Christianity with a passion, but allow the gay hating Muslims that kill them daily, to flourish.Even in schools. I don’t blame them much, as this is their neuroses end game. I blame the public, with the Media making this acceptable. Its a strange World. The mad now rule us.
If parents where serious about this children would be taken out of these hot houses of radical perversion

  26. Can a shameless pervert be elected? Not outside an urban riding even the most “sophisticated” people flee as soon as they give birth.
Ask QNDPS, if that character can be found, whatever became of André Boisclair, a party-boy only the lost souls of Beaudry station could love (in any sense of the word). His only accomplishment as PQ leader was to put Mario Dumont within striking distance of government as decent people outside Montreal defected en masse to the ADQ.
Exactly the same will happen here. Wynne, whose children will remember her mostly for abandoning them and their father for a witch even more hideous than she is, will drive every last man out of the OLP who pays taxes, believes in God and doesn’t think marriage or parenthood is a joke. Even the Muslims will bolt to the NDP. Wynne’s the best gift the OLP could have given Tim Hudak, short of lacing the convention punchbowls with cyanide.

  27. What a self congratulatory wad of fluff Svend churned out. Strange, I thought the Swiss didn’t allow thieves into their country.
I guess I will be joining the Ontario PC party and working hard next election to unseat the Lib incumbent. A Premier who is even more to the left than McGuinty will be a disaster for Ontariowe. Hopefully having two far left of center parties in the next election will split the vote allowing the PCs in.

  28. “…Wynne’s the best gift the OLP could have given Tim Hudak…”
Is there such a thing as a serial fumbler?

  29. “Is Ontario ready for a gay Premier?”
We still don’t know. This one was not elected by the people.
    “Can a gay woman win?”
Have her run for election and we’ll see.

  30. Tits or testicles, gay or straight, it’s still a freakin’ liberal!
We all know the famous Forrest Gump line: “Ontario is as Ontario does.” or something like that.
