Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Sounds like the premise for yet another reality show or a bad sitcom episode.
They should demand the equal opportunity manager be included in the vote. All three vote, loser goes. Equitable, fair trade, wouldn’t you say. The 9th circuit will uphold the democratic solution. Voila!
The Paper That Won’t Be Named pulled a somewhat similar stunt after they laid me off, along with all the other writers. They then opened up a newsroom night copy editing job, which by the unions “rules” I had the option of taking, as I had seniority over the other laid off writers. I had no intention of ever setting foot in there again, so I deferred to a junior colleague, who I knew needed the cash (not that I didn’t, but still – very bad blood at this point.) I think they would have preferred never to see either of us again, and my friend said that the atmosphere in the newsroom when he returned was difficult, to say the least.
What a dismal industry.
Heh…I love it!! Kinda like a media “Hunger Games”.
Quick, someone phone Jeff Probst.
I wonder if “job sharing” was an option.
Way too easy ….. fire the editor Fannin.
Darn it. A commenter there beat me to a “two libs enter; one lib leaves” riff. And they’re both white women so they can’t decide by p.c. points. Ha-ha.
Gutless wonders, these managers. What were they thinking?
As OMMAG says, fire the manager. Then they could probably hire four more basket weavi…er….”journalists”
I think the only fair thing to do is shut the whole operation down…wouldn’t want to harm somebody’s self-esteem.
Make it a PPV event……I’ll shell a few bucks to watch. 😉

If they were smart, that would both leave.
Because looking for a better job somewhere
else in a growing part of the economy, is a
sooner the better proposition. The fact you
are the last, most skilled person, out the door
leaving the closing buggy whip factory just
won’t help you much looking for your next job.
Hey Syncrodox,
I did my part years ago and canceled the KC Red Star (as we call it).
Right on MAR… I did the same with my Calgary Herald subscription. Funny thing is we also have our very own red star but it sits at the center of the Canadian leftard universe. Toronto.
Hey Sarg …. if they were smart they would not be reporters.
Or they could sue the paper because of sexual advances of the manager. Everyone wins.
They should have tossed a kiddie pool full of jello in the parking lot and let the journo chicks wrassle for it.
Its fun watching the enemy come apart. >:D
How’s this for an idea.
Let’s lay off both the commies.
Two men enter. One man leaves. Who rules Bartertown?
The sharks eating the sharks. Love it.
I love it, making them choose who amongst them goes is a great way to insulate the boss from the inevitable litigation discrimination fall out.
Its also a kinder gentler form of making the homeless fight each other.
andycanuck @7:49 – perfect time for someone to discover that she’s 1/64th Cherokee. And gay.
Bum Fights..?..
This could make an excellent reality show. Film the negotiations between them. Let them argue, in public, which of the two has the greater need for their job than the other. This follows the general arc of social justice does it not?
I hear Star Trek fight music in the background when I read this.
Master Blaster, Master Blaster rules Bartertown…
End Embargo!
