Progressive Christmas Carols.
EBD, you devil you. That is downright sinister to lure us into watching that “Happy Talk” before SDA readers retire for the night. To have that jingle piece of music rolling through one’s dreams all night is sheer torture. Might as well given us Bobby Jimbee’s “Canada” or “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin and let us slit our wrists.
Good Night, eh
For two years, Ontario farmer Russell Elliott has been waiting to supply solar power to the province’s electricity grid.
He was one of thousands of Ontarians who took the government up on its green-energy incentives, withdrawing $91,000 from his savings to erect a small solar-power project at his farm west of London. It seemed like a wise investment, as safe as a GIC but with a much better, government-backed rate of return – 11 per cent or so.
However, in Ontario’s rush to develop renewable energy, a significant obstacle emerged for many small power producers, particularly in Southwestern Ontario: There wasn’t enough capacity on the aging grid to accommodate all of their built projects. With so many bank loans and retirement nest eggs on the line, the provincial government has pledged to help, but more than a year after that promise, Mr. Elliott and about 3,000 other applicants are still waiting for a resolution.

Re: Happy Talk.
Looks like he`s been inhaling the fumes from an incinerator filled with PVC pipe fittings!
Elizabeth Nickson was on Brian Lilley’s show tonight, talking about her book, “Eco-Fascists.” The Islands Trust, judging by what it’s been doing on the Gulf Islands, might fall under that label. I’ve ordered two copies, and will give one to a relative who’s had to deal with this autocratic organization.
I would like to make my annual plea for more broadcasting and playing of Canada’s Christmas carol, the Huron carol. It can be performed in English, French or Huron or all three.
Enough with the Little Drummer Boy!
The Huron Carol (‘Twas In The Moon of Winter Time)
‘Twas in the moon of wintertime when all the birds had fled
That mighty Gitchi Manitou sent angel choirs instead;
Before their light the stars grew dim and wondering hunters heard the hymn,
Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria.
Within a lodge of broken bark the tender babe was found;
A ragged robe of rabbit skin enwrapped his beauty round
But as the hunter braves drew nigh the angel song rang loud and high
Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria.
The earliest moon of wintertime is not so round and fair
As was the ring of glory on the helpless infant there.
The chiefs from far before him knelt with gifts of fox and beaver pelt.
Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria.
O children of the forest free, O seed of Manitou
The holy Child of earth and heaven is born today for you.
Come kneel before the radiant boy who brings you beauty peace and joy.
Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria.
Words: Jean de Brebeuf, ca. 1643; trans by Jesse Edgar Middleton, 1926
Music: French Canadian melody (tune name: Jesous Ahatonhia)

“The five stages of climate grief”
“The Kyoto Protocol died in Copenhagen in December 2009. Why, then, are climate change officials, including our own, meeting a third time since then and, instead of finalising burial arrangements, still talking about extending Kyoto to tackle climate change?
The answer is simple: the international community of climate change officials is going through the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
The Kyoto Protocol had its last rites read in Bali in 2007.”

Here’s an excellent column on how the west is destroying capitalism in its bid to reduce all to a similar economic lifestyle by social engineering.

“The new ideal was that there should not be inequalities of wealth. The roaring success of the free market created such unprecedented levels of mass prosperity that absolute poverty became virtually extinct in western democracies, so it had to be replaced as a social evil by “relative poverty”. It was not enough that no one should be genuinely poor (hungry and without basic necessities): what was demanded now was that no one should be much worse (or better) off than anyone else. The job of government was to create a society in which there were no significant disparities in earnings or standards of living.”
“Punishing those who exceed some momentary average income and artificially subsidising those who fall below it – as well as providing for a universal standard of living which bears no relation to merit or even to need – has now reached the unavoidable, unaffordable end of the line. ”
I am pretty sure that this dudes idea of Happy Talk consists of whispering sweet nothings into some some other dudes ear.

“Al Nusrah Front, foreign jihadists seize key Syrian base in Aleppo
The Al Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant, an al Qaeda-linked jihadist group that is fighting Bashir al Assad’s regime in Syria, and allied jihadist groups took control of the last major Syrian Army base in western Aleppo after a two-month-long siege. The base is believed to be involved in Syria’s chemical weapons program.
The Sheikh Suleiman base, or Base 111, fell to the Al Nusrah Front and “several Islamist rebel battalions linked to it,” a representative of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told AFP. Foreign fighters are also said to have played a key role in the assault that led to the fall of the Sheikh Suleiman base, while nearby units of the Free Syrian Army stood by and watched.
“Many of the fighters were from other Arab countries and Central Asia,” AFP said, based on observations from one of its reporters who covered the area. An estimated 300 to 400 Syrian soldiers defended the base before it fell to the jihadist alliance. Al Qaeda’s black flag of jihad was raised over one of the buildings on the base as the fighting took place.
The two other Islamist groups who fought alongside Al Nusrah were identified as the Mujahedeen Shura Council and the Muhajireen group, according to The Associated Press. The term muhajireen means emigrants, a strong indication that many of its fighters are from outside of Syria.”

McGuinty says teachers ended nine years of labour peace over ‘disagreement about pay’
http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/
Duh-lton McGuilty has lost all credibility and should keep his mouth firmly shut. I heard an “Ontario government” ad this morning on the radio and thought WT…?
We don’t have an Ontario government anymore. It’s AWOL, it’s prorogued, and neither McGuilty nor his absentee cabinet members and MPPs have either the right or the privilege of speaking to the Ontario electorate/taxpayer. They’ve abandoned ship so how dare they presume to speak to the teacher situation, a mess they perpetrated and now have the audacity to address.
McGuilty’s walked away from government and should just shut up. He’s the author of one hell of a mess in Ontario and refuses to own up to his and his government’s responsibilities and screwups.
Shut up, Mr. McGuinty. You’ve tossed your premiership overboard and should be made to walk the plank. You’ve abandoned your electorate and the right to have a say. You’re a quitter and a prevaricator. Just leave … quietly.
Oh, and BTW, what are you being paid to do nothing except stand on the sideline, pretending you’re still Ontario’s premier? There are a lot of unpaid bills and scandals you haven’t addressed.

I totally agree.
Have a 1960’s recording by Patricia McKinnon (Catherines sister) of Singalong Jubillee fame.
Her baritone is perfect in delivering her solumn(?) rendition. Beautiful.
