Forward!

Reuters;

U.S. manufacturing unexpectedly contracted in November, falling to its lowest in over three years in a sign the sector may be struggling to gain traction, according to an industry report released on Monday.

MoreParticular data points of note: Employment down from 52.1 to 48.4; New Orders slide from 54.2 to 50.3, and in the worst news for GDP Exports declined, Imports rose and Inventories plunged – which was to be expected after a huge inventory build up in Q3 pushed GDP much higher in the period. Expect even more downward GDP recessions on today’s ugly data.

  1. I wonder how much of this might be caused by the then-anticipated re-election of the Chief Choom? Could it be that manufacturers were preparing for Obamacare and other sundry changes expected in the near future?

  2. The sooner the economy collapses enough to really piss a lot of people off, the better.
It may take a while. There are far more among the fat and happy than is generally appreciated.

  3. Dear Reuters, please consider the following sentences for the use of unexpectedly:
“While I was standing on the sidewalk a penguin unexpectedly hit me in the head.”
    or
“I charged the frenchmen and he unexpectedly ran away”
    or
“I voted for a commie and he unexpectedly acted like one”
The 1st is correct, the others not so much.
But then again, if you’ve had this thought before:
“I went to the columbia school of journalism and unexpectedly fell in love with with Obama”
then don’t worry – I am sure nothing else you’ve not unexpected could happen.

  4. Obamanomics . . . because you can borrow and spend your way into deficits, debt and default.
And Athens can be a new city on the Potomac.
The faster the damage is inflicted, the sooner the USA can hack this fur ball and get back on a path to growth and prosperity.

  5. What is this poisoned pablum about industry “unexpectedly” contracting? That’s the plan Stan!
North American industrial capacity is being legislatively incrementally dismantled. It’s all in the play book ferkrissake. READ UN Agenda 21 and UNDERSTAND the global left agenda of sustainability legislating is about transferring our industrial wealth and power to “the 3rd world” (interpretation: the rising communist super powers which will propel global commerce and governance)
The financial press who soft soap this planned migration of North American industrial might (by Wall Street and its own legislators) are part of the mechanism.

  6. NOBODY expects the Unexpected! Our chief weapon is surprise…surprise and fear…fear and surprise…. Our two weapons are fear and surprise…and ruthless INefficiency.

  7. I disagree with ET in that I think Obama has too many Marxist friends and has had them for a long time for him not to be a Marxist. So, to those wishing the economy would collapse and with it the Obama government, be careful what you wish for as generally economic collapses in the 20th century have been followed by radicals taking over the governments.

  8. At this point, I don’t care who takes over next. Socialist’s believe that once the entitlement is granted, the people will pay any tax to retain it. They will be in power forever thereafter.
I think that once people are forced to pay for the entitlement (by not being able to subsizdize it with debt for future generations) they will realize it wasn’t worth it all along. When that happens, I wouldn’t want to be the one defending the entitlements or be the party seen as granting new ones either. This day can’t get it here soon enough in my opinion.

  9. Who would have expected the fake economic numbers required to Obama to need adjustment after the election? I am sure we will see phenomenal growth around September 2014 followed by a dip in November. Shouldn’t some bureaucrat be in jail for fixing an election?

  10. The ratings agencies must be getting itchy trigger fingers waiting to downgrade the U.S. credit rating…again.

  11. Expecting a different outcome after doing the same thing over and over is beyond stupid, it’s liberal.

  12. You guys all worry too much. One manufacturing sector in the USA is going flat-out and expanding operations as fast as they can.
That would be the firearms sector. Domestic production of guns, ammunition and gun accessories has never been more robust. Here in Arizona gun shops and shooting ranges are doing very well indeed, and many are expanding into new premises.
I believe we will know the breaking point when it arrives by this sign, people in large Eastern cities will begin ignoring the gun laws and start carrying on a wide scale. Things will get pretty bad before that happens, but when it does that will be when the corner gets turned. Or possibly the lazy sons of b1tches will finally get up and vote for a change, that could happen.
