You tell them over and over again that costs get passed on or the employees get cut back, but no, The wing-nuts just don't believe you.
Last week we found out that, beginning in January, any employee who is not full-time at that point, will be limited to 28 hours per week and all new hires will be subject to the same policy.
I swear, if a conservative said the sky was blue the liberals would search for proof that it was red.

Costs are irrelevant only where govt is involved. Hence the need to make deficit budgets illegal.
It is red...the debt squid dropped a mean load of ink...
But Lance, on the planet of the intellectually challenged idealists, the sky IS red - and so are the zombie-like voters that inhabit it.
Go'head, tell 'em the sky is blue - see what you get.
But, but, but, the evil capitalist 1% have all the money they've exploited from the poor workers. So taking their money won't affect anyone else at all!
Look, guys, it's okay to treat employees this way. It's not like they are really people or anything with families and such.
This election is about binders and Muppets!
You have to wonder, what did these Obama voters think was going to happen.Did they really believe that large corporations who are responsible to their shareholders were just going to start paying these huge Obamacare expenses and not look at other alternatives? They would be sued by their shareholders for lack of due diligence and rightfully so.Hopefully the smarter people in the USA will vote that idiot out of office on Tuesday. If they don t there will be a lot of part time jobs available very soon.
I am more interested in BECOMING John Galt.
Frell you all, my fellow Capitalists will meet there and build a new Continent.
Minus Liberals.
Dale.
Don't you just love it when people are confronted with reality. The only question is whether there are enough people who still believe that the government can solve all their problems by passing legislation. In the "hope and change" world, Obozo would make things right by forcing employers to hire on people full time and give them all free benefits (and free cell phones as well).
The type of people who think this way are also the least able to manage when their employer gets fed up, closes the business and leaves the country. I'm sure that a lot of employees are being given some basic economics lessons from employers in the US right now with the unsaid choice of: do you want another 4 years of Obozo, or your job?
Right now live employees are a significant liability. Unions exist primarily to extort money from workers to give a good life to union bosses. I'm hoping that the current kleptocracy in power in the US has finally gotten too greedy and a large number of their members will become clients of prisons run for profit. That's the best case scenario for them if Romney wins; if Obozo gets in, they are more likely to be hanging by the neck from lamp posts when the backlash comes.
Let's see. Create an economic incentive to hire only part-time workers. Why are we surprised that employers only hire part-time workers?
But this works out well for the Democrats. The Republicans too if they want to jump on the bandwagon. The more part-time workers there are, the less unemployed there are. In fact, if they lower the limit from 28 hours to 25 hours, there will be even more part time workers and less unemployment.
If this keeps up, in 10 years half of America will be working 15 hours a week and there will be *no unemployment at all*.
Genius! ;-)
The CEO of that company takes home $8.9 million per year, and the bad guys are the low level employees who would like "free" healthcare and the Obama administration for trying to give it to them.
Jeezus. Talk about blaming the wrong people. The US has become a chumpocracy. They love to talk about the few people who can make incredible amounts of money, but of course, the only way they can do it is if they grossly underpay tens of thousands of employees.
The way around this is just to tax the bejesus out of these guys, because we all know, that high taxes on the rich does NOT slow economic growth, since it's the middle class buying lots of stuff that keeps the economy chugging along.
But you suckers go ahead and defend the rich. You've been played by the likes of Limbaugh, and really, it's quite pathetic.
@John:
I'm a Canadian who likes the idea that everyone gets the health care they need. (Not _want_, but *need*.)
But the implementation of the U.S. system is pathetic. Essentially, you pass a bunch of regulations, employers change their hiring practices, the insurance industry gets guaranteed premiums, and nothing really changes. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.
I wouldn't be surprised if Americans think they'd been played by Obama and vote Obamacare out, because the current scheme is so clunky. It just doesn't work.
Even the Canadian system -- which is very far from perfect -- shines in comparison.
> The way around this is just to tax the bejesus out of these guys
Have you noticed how many U.S. Millionaries and Billionaires are moving to Asia? Some of them are renouncing their citizenship so they don't have to file U.S. tax returns. Look up Eduardo Savarin:
http://www.businessinsider.com/goodbye-america-billionaire-facebook-cofounder-renounces-citizenship-2012-5
If you tax these people enough, they'll just take their money and move. You have to work with these people, not against them.
Yeah the canadian "system". You've never spent anytime in the hospital have you? I've experienced the rationing first hand folks. The doctors tried to convince us to kill grandma no joke. It's been 3 years and she's never been better because we insisted they treat her.
Yeah thet Obamacare is fantastic.
Neighbour told me about a US truck driver praising it....apparently his brother got a hip replacement free of charge by Obamacare....9 months ago.
Musta been a time machine involved....
Yeah the canadian "system". You've never spent anytime in the hospital have you?
Canadian health care always works good for me. Of course I take care of my health.
Those who abuse their health will be disappointed when the docs can't put 'humpty-dumpy' back together again.
John, BS on your $8.9 CEO take home pay. Not even half that. Pay Kate the difference or go somewhere else to crap.
It ain't free if their hours are being cut to pay for it, John.
There's always a cost.
Can't simply close down thousands of factories, kick millions of workers to the curb, decimate the middle class , increase benefits to those stuggling on a depleted income with more government handouts and supported with borrowed trillions and then expect life to go on as before. Obama's only solution is more handouts and higher taxes. Everytime government interferes it makes the situation worse. I don't care if any CEO makes 10 million a year. That's up to the shareholders of the company. The tax rate and countless regulations are what drove these companies overseas.
http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/lou.dobbs.tonight/popups/exporting.america/content.html
So the solution is higher tax rates and more regulations ? Don't think so. We can't compete with $1.00 per hour labor but from everything I have read , the main issue is domestic exorbitant tax rates and regulations that made outsourcing so lucrative. The key to Wal-marts and McDonalds success is small profit margin coupled with volume. Government could learn a lot from that concept. Making ANY union participation optional is a good start. Eliminate minimum wage, cut EPA by 90% , stop all the stupid green programs, stop picking winners and losers, drill baby drill, ban all lobbying, dump all the duds like Fanny Mae and Freddy mack, No more student loans for basket weaving, eliminate crap like affirmative action Fed. education dept., and everything else government has no business sticking their nose into. Too many to list here.
The only alternative is socialism, which has never worked in history. That's the road we are on now. That's the road John at November 5, 2012 12:04 AM wants to take. Hitler and Stalin both liked the "Forward" concept. Too bad sexual orientation has replaced history lessons because it looks like we could well relive that history.
I met John Galts ghost, last night, in my dreams.

Osumashi Kinyobe / John:
You have to look at profit in the context of employee count. Gross sales make Kroger look big, but their net income of $600 Million for 339,000 employees is less than $1800 per employee per year.
That's less than $150 per month that each employee is making for the company, and that means there is not a lot of wiggle room to absorb new employee-count-based costs no matter how much they appreciate their employees, families, kids and all.
Even if the CEO takes home $8.9 million (doubtful, unless he also owns the company), you can take all of that and only increase the income of each worker by $26 for the year. How far will that go to pay for ObamaCare?
Who is John Galt? [Atlas Shrugged Part 2]
To a liberal Government is God.
Therefore ifallable. Even though unemployment is cascading from its expansion. Frankly I do9n't belive in personel income tax. Its a bad mistake that gets worse as it goes higher.
Dear John @ 12:04am:
On a purely emotional level I do understand your frustration with the CEO making so much money, especially compared to the lowest paid employee there.
But let me throw a hypothetical scenario at you: Suppose you & I form a company together, let's say something on the Internet. We're smart guys and we work really, really hard. At first we make no money, then very little, but eventually it grows and grows and grows into something worth billions of dollars.
Three sincere questions:
1. Should a member of the general public be able to tell you what the maximum amount your salary should be?
2. Should the government be able to set your maximum salary?
3. If we decide to hire a brand new executive, in whatever capacity - CFO, COO, CEO, etc. - should either #1 or #2 be able to tell us what we can pay this person?
Most curious in your answers.
I am more interested in BECOMING John Galt.

Some quick arithmetic, that I am sure your typical liberal can't do. I think the link said that Kroger has 350,000 employees. At 3000 dollars per employee that works out to over 1 billion dollars of new costs to the company. I doubt they make that much profit in a year.
The CEO's total compensation (salary, stock options, etc) is $4 million. After tax, take-home pay would be considerably less. If the employees fired him and divided his take-home pay among themselves, they wouldn't get $10 each.
The more part-time workers there are, the less unemployed there are. In fact, if they lower the limit from 28 hours to 25 hours, there will be even more part time workers and less unemployment.
I don't think it's that. But if you work part time and - let's face it - most part-time workers aren't making $25-$30/hour but maybe $10 or $12, it creates a GIGANTIC crop of new government dependents.
Especially when gas, food, and electricity prices skyrocket -- as promised by Obama.
We're already at something like 45-47% on food stamps or some form of assistance. Get 3-5% more of the populace dependent on government for basic survival and...boom! Democrat control for life.
It'll make Greece look like a frat house toga party.
Even here in small-town Iowa, there are people like that. I attribute it to the fact that there is a small college in town. I absolutely love what happens when one of them tells me, "Nobody moves because of taxes," and I respond, "Not only is that not true, but you know somebody who has, because I did." They are speechless for a moment. Then, of course, they begin babbling about why I didn't really move because of taxes or how I'm the exception who proves the rule (there are a couple of million exceptions who have left California over the past fifteen years or so), etc.

Well said and because I have been neglecting the fresh killed Small Dead Animals.
Welcome.
Dale Wright.
I always get a good laugh out of Americans discussing Canada's health care system.
Let's see what this means in the US of A.. 2 x 25 hr/wk jobs, 1 hr travel in the morning to get to job 1, 1 hr travel between job 1 and job 2, and 1 hr to get home - 65 hours a week, for which you get paid $600 with no benefits. After taxes, FICA, etc. in the US, you're left with about $450/wk, or $1800 a month.
Say $800/month for rent, $100/month for a bus pass, $100 month for phone and internet - hey, you have $200/week to feed, clothe, save for retirement, and pay for your health care! Forget about a car - even if someone gave you one, you don't have enough to pay for gas and insurance.
A healthy diet? Sure - you're going to buy expensive fish, fruit, and vegetables, instead of potatoes for ten cents a pound, and cheap cuts of factory processed meat. Exercise? You're already working/commuting 13 hours a day and by the time you get home, you're so mentally weary, all you want is to eat, watch some mindless TV, and get to bed. Weekends? Doing all the crap you couldn't do in the week - clean the apartment, do your laundry, shop for groceries, etc.
But hey - qualify for a SNAP card and an Obamaphone, and life is great! Four more years!!
All part of the Obama plan to show improvement in unemployment. Fewer hours per employee means that many companies will have to hire more part-time employees. More people working looks good for Obama. It's just to bad they will not be making a living wage.

I really love how the heirs of Tommy Douglas seem to forget that America does have government insurance. It is called Medicare and you can get it when you are 65. for those who are in the bottom rung of the economy there is Medicade. Both are entitlements that those who choose can opt out of or top up with private insurance. Any Republican plan for cutting the debt does not include any cuts to this system for those that are on either plan nor those who are getting even close.
Canada health care does have it's moments but that is usually in an emergency situation. Getting a MRI for a crippling but non-life threatening situation will take from three months (in Ontario) or six months (in Alberta), unless you are a professional athlete or spend $$$ out of your own pocket.
I've lived and worked in health care on both sides of the 49th.
