Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media

have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I am going to say Romney takes it with 315 electoral college votes, and I get to taste the tears of my in-laws.
269-269...let the battle Royale in Congress begin!
I've got Romney 293-245. I can hardly wait for the moaning on various sites.
In a similar vein, I had the chance to drive through much of Wisconsin and Minnesota over the last 2 weeks. In both states the signs are, at worst, evenly split and, at best, about 10% in favour of Romney. In talking to locals and hearing idle talk in public, I don't think these states are anywhere close to a lock for O.
Romney 305, Obama 233.
Although a tie would be really something to see!
I figure if it breaks for Romney, it breaks big.
All three southern defectors go back to red. Ohio, New Hampshire, and Colorado follow. Minnesota, Michigan, Nevada and Oregon stay blue. Iowa, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania stay too close to call for most of the night, but two of them end up going to Romney. Maine's congressional EV stays in the game but ultimately follows its state to Obama in the end.
Brown loses but either Murdok or Akin win, Democrats and Republicans alike bitch about the Senate's composition.
Romney just crosses the line into 300+ territory, and I win a bet for a steak dinner and a night of gloating over the gamble I made on April Fool's day.
Romney with 320
Romney 271
Obama 267
R:333 O:205
Can US presidential candidates campaign on election day? (Nov 6, 2012).
Can election results be shown before ALL states have finished voting?
Romney - 295
Although I would say it is probably going to be higher than that.
301 Republican.
Romney 333 Nobama 205
Even though most polls show it to be "close", I think it will be a landslide for Romney.
What Jeff@4:00 said - 269-269, and Michelle appeals to the public for a Bat'leth cage match with Anne Romney to settle things.
Since champ beat me to 295 I'll go with Romney 291 (and give NH back to Obama).
Obama 294 (taking Ohio and Virginia)
Romney 244 (taking Colorado)
This way I might get a consolation prize if the worst happens.

Never under estimate the stupidity of the average person and their gullibility to believe in magical fairy dust and unicorns... Obambi 322/216.

Never mind. The outcome is already known.
Obama trounces Romney
(in Kenya, that is)
370 Romney 168 OZero
Before the storm I had Romney at 350.
Now I believe 279-305 Romney.
So close that Demorats will scream the election was 'Bought/STOLEN.'
Then secretly blame Bill Clinton for misleading Obama, causing the party faithful to attack
Rich, Tax Evader, Bain Capital, Cancer Causing,
47 percent lechers,
Mitt Romney.
I plan to record Chris Matthews and MSNBC having a leg tingling, Racists meltdown stroke.
Mighty Gitchi-Manitou sends angel choirs instead.
I say 297 Electoral College votes for ROMNEY, the balance for Obungler.
All of the states that Michael Barone calls for Romney EXCEPT Ohio, which (based on a recent drive through there) I think will stay Democrat.
Share of Vote:
Romney 55%
Obama 43%
Other 2%
Dave S. in Barrie, ON, and Raleigh, NC
Sadly, I believe it will be Obama. 300+ EC votes, though I'm not comfortable with any more specificity than that. Too much uncertainty too close to the election.
I pick Rommey to win.. 300 to win
I pick Rommey to win.. 300 to win
302 for Romney
236 for the other guy.
Obama won 2008 because of the colour of his skin.
He will lose 2012 because of the content of his character. MLK can stop spinning tomorrow.
I honestly couldn't care less, so long as Romney has MORE when its all over.
Obama 288
Romney 250
Fox news has a tool to move states between candidates and create your own prediction. 304 for Mitt to 234 for Obama was my outcome. I don't feel near as confident about this election though as I did when I called the Redford win in Alberta last poll.
Romney 266 Obama 272
please please please let all you people be right....
Obama 303.
Not what I want just what I think will be. Romney ran a good campaign but a media decisively against him is hard to overcome. I think some people who voted early are wishing they could take back their vote after Romney appeared reasonable.
Hopefully the GOP will do some soul searching and divorce themselves from the social conservatism that is costing them independent voters.
Romney 314 Obama gets a seat on the next plane to Levenworth.
No matter who gets the most votes...the GOVERNMENT always wins!
Romney 308.
Stunned disbelief, priceless.
I sent this to a friend of mine in Cali on Oct 25th. My prediction is still Romney/Ryan. I think Obama got schooled by allowing Romney to take the center, center/right position in the political universe. Obama bet the farm on the scorched earth policy of kill Romney. He spent an incredible amount of money and in the first 45 minutes of the first debate he watched it all go up in smoke. He had spent too much energy establishing his bone fides with his base which locked him in as a failed progressive as opposed to a challenged centrist with the public. This allowed Romney to move to the middle and has accounted for the surge that we have seen across the board. I think the following battleground states fall for Romney, FL, VA, NC, WI, IA, CO and NH. OH and PA are likely to also go his way but I only give him one not both. I don’t think he gets NV, too many crooked union votes there and I have no clue about MN. So the EV total should be either 305 or 307. Popular vote will likely be 52% R/R, O/B 47 and 1% to all the Nader wannabees.
Romney: 289
Obama: 249
377- Romney
161- Obama
No prediction yet, but I have noticed odd things happening to national polls in Canada and the US.
It was written about by (I believe) Jon Ivison during Canada's 2006 Elections. The polls seem to always break for the Liberals (Democrats) 3 - 5 days before the election, showing that much coveted MOMENTUM. In 2006, it was accomplished with a simple outlier poll 7-10 days before the election showing a conservative blip (which was of course buried in back pages of your favourite daily). In this US election, they have monkeyed with the democratic poll bias, starting with a 6% Obama lead with an 8% Dem poll bias, then a Romney lead with no poll bias, and now a statistical tie with 8 - 11% Dem poll bias.
I don't know what to believe and can't wait until tomorrow night to find out.
Vaughn Palmer on Vancouver's CKNW today predicted an Obama win with over 300 EC votes. I don't know what polls he looks at.
Romney 321
Romney 312
If I make a prediction it will be the kiss of seath for Romney.
But here's a prediction I will make. If Romney wins in a close one, the left wing lawyers will move quickly, a la 'hanging chad' election.
Romney has to win big, or there will be major touble. That's simply they way the democrats work these days.
Romney 273
Obama 265
I do not know the breakdown of electoral college votes per state and won't pretend that I do, but I will repeat what I have been saying for a while now: Romney/Ryan by a landslide. And I mean a healthy landslide like the old days.
The following words really hammer that home:
"Romney ends most rallies with his story of the Colorado scout troop that in 1986 had an American flag put in the space shuttle Challenger, saw the Challenger blow up as they watched on TV, and then found, through the persistence of their scoutmaster, that the flag had survived the explosion. It was returned to them by NASA officials. When Romney, afterward, was shown the flag, he touched it, and an electric jolt went up his arm. It’s a nice story. He doesn’t make its meaning fully clear. But maybe he means it as a metaphor for America: It can go through a terrible time, a catastrophe, as it has economically the past five years, and still emerge whole, intact, enduring.
Maybe that’s what the coming Romney moment is about: independents, conservatives, Republicans, even some Democrats, thinking: We can turn it around, we can work together, we can right this thing, and he can help."
The "damned dirty RINO" Peggy Noonan wrote that. I saw a video of Romney telling that story and it brought tears to my eyes. I agree with Peggy. That man Mitt Romney can help put America together again.
I will forgo the prizes and place my bets both ways. My instinct says the US will wake up and send O packing:
Romney: 290
... now this is the same country that elected him the first place and likes to re-elect corrupt and incompetent Democrats so:
Obama: 305
272 Usama
268 Mittens (Florida, virginia, Pennsylvania,North Carolina...If only he had gotten New Hampshire)
In a real election, with "average" levels of fraud? Romney 310.
In this election?
Obama steals the election with massive fraud. EC count doesn't matter. MSM buries evidence of theft, points to the most recent polls and says get over it Republicans, stop crying over spilt milk.
Republicans riot.
DHS unleashes the 750 million rounds of ammo they bought.
Praying to God I'm wrong and that the system is not already too far compromised.
Romney 290
Obama 248
I hope I'm way off on the Romney plurality. It should be 390 to 148.
Prayers for Romney/Ryan tonight.
EyesWideShut.
The election results are made public as they are counted. The results are broadcast as they are confirmed. It really doesn't matter because the Left Coast always goes for the Dems anyways.
Unlike Elections Canada, Americans are treated as adults and can make up their own minds
FYI-Polls in Ohio close at 7:00PM EST. That should give us an indication as to how the election is going early on.
Romney: 283
