Reading through this Million Muppet March article, one is naturally inclined to check whether they're on The Onion website. But alas, no, it's real.
With a staggering amount of per capita debt, with endless entitlement programs, with promised public sector benefits that can never be paid, and with trillions in debt over all, some Americans are going to spend a day in Washington, DC protesting cuts to puppets on TV?!
Mitt Romney specifically chose fiscal hawk Paul Ryan as his running mate because he believes that the majority of Americans are finally ready to get their fiscal house in order and restore their nation to its once proud status as "The Shining City on the Hill". Tuesday's election will determine if Romney's assumption was correct or if the dangerous tipping point of 51% has been reached - that being the percentage of people who feel entitled to free stuff from others.
The Presidential Election of 2012 will indeed serve as a litmus test of "seriousness". In his latest column, Mark Steyn, author of After America, doesn't sound so sure that America will pass this test.

It's remarkable to see how many otherwise sensible people think that sex is the most important issue facing the country.
National defense? Nah ..
Full employment? Nah ...
Illegal immigration? Nah ...
Overflowing prisons? Nah ...
Taxes up the whazoo? Nah ...
Free birth control pills for unmarried thirty year old law students?
Now there's something that really matters!
Kaputt!!
When President Romney starts taking measures to save the economy, liberals/marxists
in the US and their MSM buddies will react the same way as their clones did in Canada
to Mulroney's innocuous and tentative first steps at reforming expenditures. The left would
rather destroy everything and begin anew if it leaves them permanently atop the rubbish heap.

Nah, that happened eons ago when Goldwater lost. This election's results are just the natural consequences of the GOP nominating a sublimely bad presidential campaigner.
No matter who wins it will be bad. If Obama wins the nation will continue to spend itself to death. If Romney wins the nutbars will burn down every major city. Then, later when he and Ryan try to impose some austerity measures, they'll burn them down again.
And I thought Greece was in Europe, not North America.
if the "fool tools" burn er down, Mitts won't have an "employment" problem, just problem of traning the useless how to operate a hammer and saw:-))))
NME666 and Brian M., its possible the takers will riot. They will burn down THEIR OWN HOUSES though, so the ruination will be pretty much confined to the already frigged parts of major US cities. No great loss.
Then FEMA will look after them. Justice is served!
LAS - Your drive-by smears add nothing to the conversation. Romney has campaigned quite well but you wouldn't know it from the MSM that you seem to follow. Maybe hanging around SDA will actually educate you.
Make the rich pay their fair share and America's fiscal house will be in order.
If that were true Aviator then there would be no ambiguity about who's going to win.
"Make the rich pay their fair share and America's fiscal house will be in order."
And just what is a "fair share". Is it 30%, 50%,80%. Do you think that the guy who works for $75 grand per year and pays maybe 12-15 grand a year is more fair than Romney's $3.4M. As a "taker" would you rather get Joe Blows $12,000 or Romneys $3.4 M. And when Joe Blow buys a car he probably buys an 8 year old 8 thousand dollar car and pays $800 tax. Romney types buy a $200,000 car and pays $20,000 tax. And there is no question that Romney uses way LESS in govt services than does Joe the "taker". Is that fair?
At least 'karl' choose an appropriate handle....
'chose'. Argh.
Karl, one of the Marks bothers, is weak on math
karl, if'n the rich were taxed at 100% it would raise about 350 billion, and the deficite is........
NME666 - or... If you could find 24 guys worth Bill Gates' generally accepted $50B willing to give up ALL that they have worked for their entire lives - all of their accumulated wealth - then the US could BALANCE the budget (at $1.2T). Of course that still leaves the little issue of the federal debt, unfunded liabilities and other such incidentals to a total of $121T worth... Yeah, tax the rich a bit more karl. Right.
NME @ 7:08pm
I don't know if your spelling of "Marks bothers" was deliberate or not but I think it constitutes that rare phenomenon known as a triple-entendre.
Well done!
With a Global Iranian backed World war to create a Calphate. Austerity will not be an issue. Survival of the west, will be though.
