About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Regan chose conservatism, no question of that and a good thing he did. BUT . . . don't ever lose sight of the fact that he also expanded the size of the Murr'can gummint by a heap. He did the same thing to Murr'can gummit spending. A BIG heap.
Congress did that JohnPeg. Google "tip o'neill" sometime. He was kind of the anti-Newt Gingrich.
Awesome.
Ron, if only we could have you back.
A great speech which needs to be heard by those undecided...
ROCKNE: Well, boys ... I haven't a thing to say. Played a great game...all of you. Great game.
(He tries to smile.) I guess we just can't expect to win ‘em all. (Rockne pauses and says quietly). I'm going to tell you something I've kept to myself for years -- None of you ever knew George Gipp. It was long before your time. But you know what a tradition he is at Notre Dame...
(There is gentle, faraway look in his eyes as he recalls the boy's words). And the last thing he said to me -- "Rock," he said - "sometime, when the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Gipper...

Once government dependency is institutionalized, freedom can never return. America is lost. The foodstamps will stop and cities will burn. Martial law will be implemented. The internet will be shut down and Americans will never again taste freedom. It is just a matter of time. They already listen to every telephone conversation and monitor every text. Time to move to Costa Rica. Even the Gipper couldn't save them if he was reincarnated. It is too late.
The American People need to take a few minutes each and every day for a month and read their Constitution, as I would say that they don't have a clue as what it says, let alone what rights, responsibilities and freedoms they have, based on that Divinely inspired Document, which Reagan understood as steering the Nation.
On average, each President of the United States has made 5 Executive Decisions which are contrary to the mandate or direction of the Constitution since its inception. Obama has already made at least 138, which means that he has chosen to ignore the Constitution and make his own judgment call contrary to it. Being a constitutional law professor, you would think that Obama would have seen fit to follow that document. But that is not the case.
Being a conservative means knowing the boundaries and having the sense to recognize and stay clear of the pitfalls of making harmful and unwise decisions.
Will Romney do any better? How well does he know the Constitution and how committed are he and Ryan to re-establishing the adherence to the spirit of the words in that Document?
The strength of the people will be revealed tomorrow.
Lets hope they have the will to change, not just follow...
Conservatism requires the most horrible activity in the universe, HARD WORK,and THAT is anathema to most socialists. Better to stick with the guy who'll promise everything,FREE!
Remember, we ARE entitled, and we MUST live for today.
On November 6th, vote for Obama, and vote often. No ID required.
I love that line from Gov'nor Ron's speech,"government IS the problem". If only everyone could see things that way.
"government IS the problem". If only everyone could see things that way."
Unless you are a liberal and you see that the government isn't distributing the wealth fast enough or evenly enough...that is the real problem in their myopic eyes!!!
How do you people even watch these ads, much less take them seriously? I'd like my election ads to look like boring documents. That would cut out the sensationalized drivel in spots like these. These ads don't need to look and sound like "The Day After Tomorrow". This isn't supposed to be theatre. We're supposed to be having a serious conversation. Don't get me wrong Team Obama does it too. It's just really dumbing down the discourse. I don't know why this site posts crap like this all the time.
