Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

One of the greatest flaws of progressives is their arrogance. Many truly believe that all conservatives are stupid, including the last three Republican presidents.
Thus their bewilderment when conservatives regularly kick their butts. The only explanation progressives can think of is that voters must be stupid too.
That their own arrogance is the source of the stupidity doesn't seem to occur.
Yep, rabbit.
That describes most of the NDP supporters I know.
He thought he -won-? Wow. Not a frickin' clue there eh? That's an Apollo Creed moment for Barry, getting his over-confident @ss handed to him by Mitty Balboa.
Tell you what, Moooochelle didn't think he won, by the look on her face in that after-debate picture. That is one MEAN looking Klingon princess right there.
Why, Phantom, whatever do you mean?
Romney better be prepared. Obama will be groomed by the best orators along with spin artists America has next time.
Glad he got to show Obama for what he is, but expect a TelePrompTer the size of the Empire State building with people interruption the debate. With order to the narrator to try to trip up Romney at every turn.
While buttering up Obama like hes a King.
The whole debate will be shaped for Obama. Even Democrates can learn.
If he can be that deluded about his performance in the debate, then the accusations of narcissism really are accurate. If he's than inept in understanding what happened in such a critical debate, then he's that inept in dealing with world leaders on a personal basis.
Rev - I'm not partying 'till it's over, believe me, but Obama will not be "groomed" in any useful way. He doesn't have the discipline. I'm not convinced he even cares.
Without a teleprompter and/or an earpiece, Obama hasn't a chance against a well=prepared opponent. (a) He's not nearly as smart as he thinks he is and (b) He's lazy and therefore thinks he can fake it through without preparation. But I have to tell you, I'm REALLY looking forward to the Ryan-Biden debate on Thursday. Biden may have 28 years on Ryan, but given Biden's record, that's no advantage.
Obama's not likely to make the same mistake twice. He'll be thoroughly practiced for the next debate.
Although I'm curious if he can go without his teleprompter. Even with it he tends to have a painful style, reputation notwithstanding.
"He'll be thoroughly practiced for the next debate." Rabbit
Obama can't practice debating ONE-liners because Mitt will come back (Boomerang) the cheap & the petty Statements. The DNC is a childish group of Bubbleheads run by the California fruit loops.
He's the very best at shooting hoops, he'll be teaching that from february.2013 onwards.
The very best ever. At hoops.
Revnant Dream: "Romney better be prepared. Obama will be groomed by the best orators along with spin artists America has next time."
So what, Rev? You may be right. But Oblahblah's so undisciplined, I don't think that kind of preparation will do him any good.
And, why would he have a teleprompter? Mitt Romney won't have one, so why should he?
I'm not surprised that Zero thought he'd done well. Narcissists always do, no matter what actually happened. You'd think, however, that he could have read Michelle's body language. She was some angry and pi**ed off. (I kind of get the feeling that he's not very good at reading Michelle's body language and that he doesn't care very much. She likes the perks of being the wife of the POTUS ...)

I wonder why I have never seen or heard of anyone calling Obama "Limp wristed". Just watch his trot down the steps when he so proudly deplanes from Air Force One. His wrists are so limp that his hands appear to be jelly like. Any impession of manliness in him for me disappears at that moment.
When you have never worked in your life, you can't imagine ever having to work in your life.
Anyone surprised by this UK report?
Black Mamba, batb Heres hoping yout right
Watched the whole debate and I have no idea where Bambam figured he was even present let alone win the verbal joust.
What an arrogant, arrogant man. Narcissist barely describes him.
I think Obama might prepare somewhat for the next debate but his strengths aren't in leadership and what it takes to embody it. He is a divisive, vain character. He's going to be a mean SOB next time.
Mamba at 5:33pm, that's it exactly. She looks like she's just about to rip a lectern off the stage and crush Romney with it. Meanwhile Barry thinks he's winning? O.M.G. Sure explains a lot though, eh?
By the way. What IS it about the way that woman stands? She looks bowlegged and like she's cracking a walnut with her gluteus maximi, both at the same time. Or maybe crushing a lump of coal into a diamond. In that picture those shoes make it look like her friggin' huge legs come to a point like a robot spider or something. Standing there sinking into the carpet on two sharpened spikes.
Gives me the willies. wugh!
It's not a question of preparation unless you mean your entire lifetime. Obama is not intellectually capable of defeating Romney in a debate. Yes he can regurgitate talking points when prompted but he will not be able to respond to real challenges even though the format will be different next time.
So when (not if) Obama is demolished in November he will see that the blame for the loss will lie with everyone else but him. This is a man entirely submerged in narcissism. He will over the years become more filled with bile as he rages against the unfairness of being a one term president. 'Retirement' for him will be a very bitter, and unpleasant experience for him and those around him.
Gord, Phantom, never count your chickens before they hatch. This thing can still go south.
cgh, exactly. Look at what happened in Alberta.
Obama is a BULLSHITTER, that is his ONLY skill. I wouldn't be surprised if his next debate performance is WORSE, you can only stack shit so high and then it falls over. I've been watching Ryan as well and think that it's not out of the realm of possibility that Ryan might DESTROY Biden on Thursday, in which case, the chuckleheads at INTRADE will scramble to get rid of their Obama shares, at any price they can.
So the NOTUS thought he won!? The only way he can better his performance against Romney in the next debate is to send an empty chair in his place (ECOTUS). That tactic will backfire if Clint Eastwood gives Romney a few tips before the debate on how to handle that scenario.
I agree with Black Mamba...People who have closely studied Obama and have also the unfortunate experience of having someone close who is a true narcissist in their lives will know that Obama has not much chance in the next debate. Obama is an intellectual midget who is uncurious by nature. A fake, a BS'er.
As far as the next debate being rigged in favor of the vain Prince of vacuous, it will all depend on the result of the VP debate and the polls to follow...If Ryan nails Biden, it's all over and the MSM will turn it's back on Barry for good. Nobody will risk such blatant bias.
Ryan will win at least the people's vote; his worst performance would be a tie with Biden. My gut tells me he will cream Biden. The Soetoro White House has nothing good on their record to run on. No accomplishments to speak except the unpopular Obamacare.
"Obama's not likely to make the same mistake twice. He'll be thoroughly practiced for the next debate."
No he won't. He'll say he'll practice, but he's so lazy he'll blow it off -- look at the pictures of him at the Hoover Dam, for instance. He just had to see it! He went to a campaign office and "joked" (read: whined) to the staff there that his handlers were making him "do his homework." He may memorize what he or his handlers believe are a few "zingers" but he won't be able to deliver them effectively because he just won't put in the work to understand what he's talking about.
I can't decide if Obama deep down really wants to be an ex-president so he can have the glory without the responsibility (*), or if he's just so full of himself he really thinks he's done a great job for 4 years and is entitled to 4 more.
Either way, he's up against someone who is hard-working, who will do his homework, who wants to understand the material, who will accept criticism and who wants to get better. I expect Romney to be just as fully prepared for debate #2 as he was for #1, and win the debate handily.
(*) - Obama as an ex-president will be UNBEARABLE. He'll make Carter look gracious by comparison. He'll jet all around the country giving speeches to crowds, spouting the same old platitudes, trash-talking every successor that comes along, never taking one iota of responsibility for anything he's done and blaming everyone else for his failures. I wouldn't even put it past the narcissist twit to run again in 2016 if he does lose next month. He just can't resist the allure of a campaign. It's the only thing he's ever been any good at.
With all his wonderful speaking skills, he can resume his career as a Harvard professor next February - right alongside Iggy.
foobert, funny you should bring up Iggy in this context. The comparison is apt.
Take a look at Barry vs. Iggy. One guy has lots of scholarly publications, lots of respect in the Ivory Tower, acknowledged expert in his field of study. The other... not so much.
Iggy, prat though he may be, is twice the man Barry is. At least twice. And I say that as someone who considers Iggy an utter donkey who would have been a -disaster- for Canada.
We all know that in 2008 people voted for Teleprompter and his running mate Obama. They just forgot to swear in Teleprompter as the president.
