Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media

have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Presume that anything the government tells you is manipulated or a lie and you can never go wrong. Attacks on American interests on 9/11 and it's blamed on a obscure, poorly done you tube video. Yea.......right. You have to be a Democrat to believe that.
Why hasn't she resigned over this? To "take responsibility" and not do anything else? Kind of a stick in the eye of justice.
My money says she is on her way out.
Probably had enough swimming bottomless with political vipers....
I noted this years ago, that "taking responsibility" now begins and ends with simply uttering those words.
Actual repercussions have ceased to exist.
Actually Kate I believe you now get rewarded for admitting you made a mistake.
That's how far we've fallen.
"'I want to avoid some kind of political gotcha,' she told the cable news network, noting that it is close to the election."
So .... she wouldn't be "taking responsibility" if it weren't close to an election?
"we can put blame to people who allow in certain day to boost muslim against nonmuslim by creat those stupid film to motive some uneducted muslim get excited are the one need to get blame"
The most you would get me to admit is that that sort of thing is tacky, and that I wouldn't do something like that. Although it is worth pointing out that one could very likely make Muslims riot simply by listing the various crimes Mohammed committed during his life, which seem to be documented in the Koran and the hadiths. If Mohammed were alive today, there's no way he'd be able to stay out of prison--straight up gangsta, pardon the ghettoism. Not our problem, he's your "prophet" (ha), not ours.
But would you please explain why being either uneducated, or Muslim, excuses one from acting like a goddamned grownup?
Hilary, volunteering to take one for the "team"?
No, there is enough stupidity to outfit the entire Democratic elite for Halloween.
Hopefully, their shouts of "trick or treat" will have fewer Americans tossing votes into their carpet bags, than they did four years ago.
Trick me once, shame on you, trick me twice, shame on ...
I don't get it, is Bills wife now saying that she made the youtube video that caused all those "protests"...? It's getting increasingly difficult to keep up with all the bull$#it emanating from the Chicago gangsters and marxists running the WH. I guess Obarry didn't get the post it note regarding the terrorist attack before he went to bed that night. Nor when he gave a speech at the UN two weeks later... geez, how long does it take that guy to read a post it note that explains how it was all Hilary's fault?
Sean: Having dealt with a number of chronic narcissists over the years, the first point that I learned to realize is that nothing whatever, nothing, is ever their fault. Obama and Moochelle demonstrate the classic atributes of narcissism...accordingly, they will never admit that they are wrong, because in their minds, they're not...it's all everyone else's fault...
I suppose we just have to wait it out and pray for good results in the upcoming election.
1. As Kate noted, taking responsibility has no consequences. After Janet Reno incinerated women and children in Waco, she took "responsibility" and was the only cabinet member to go 8 years with Billy Jeff. Hilary will retire on Jan 20, 2013, and go back to NYC, unless she wants to become a college pres.
2. She looks like the adult, compare and contrast Pres. Obama, the buck never got here. This also looks good to Obama and Biden, and supports Joey Biden's idiotic debate statements. But this has actually sunk Obama. Women will not like it. Clinton fans will not like it.
3. She was leaving after the election anyway, Hillary and Bill hope that this action would buy respect from the democrat party. (What little is left of the party after 11/6 is another story they have not thought through.) They show they are loyal and "honest" politicians and will "stay bought." Which is an advantage when dealing with both democrat and republican political businessmen that are entrenched in DC.
O/T WOW, Ann Margaret was HOT!
I'll believe that Hillary Clinton accepts responsibility when she commits seppuku to atone for her dishonourable conduct. Until then she's just another politician, mouthing the words and doing nothing else.
Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State is responsible for the security of the embassies and consulates. Obama is responsible for appointing an incompetent Secretary of State. In the military both would be court-martialed for gross negligence. Neither of them has ever managed a lemonade stand but they're in positions of great responsibility and power thanks to politics.
Hillary has her eye set on running for president in 2016. She probably hopes to curry favor with the DNC with this.
Hillary: taking "responsibility" to avoid being found Responsible. Awesome. Bill is still champion though, he completely skated on responsibility for Waco. Scot free.
This should play well in the US election. Certainly it will make the next couple of debates even more interesting that they already were.
Then there's this here:
new/so/ok said: "we can put blame to people who allow in certain day to boost muslim against nonmuslim by creat those stupid film to motive some uneducted muslim get excited are the one need to get blame"
so/ok/new still doesn't grasp where she lives. You really, really don't get it.
I'm seriously thinking the stupid, terrible Mo trailer hacked together by that incompetent con man who is currently -still- in jail needs to be taken off the web. Yes my friends, taken off.
And replaced.
Replaced with a Hollywood quality, feature-length movie of Mohammed's actual, historically accurate life. In period costume. Something to compare to the truth of Jesus' life. A comparison that would give the most sneering atheist pause.
Canadians take a long time to get rolling. We don't respond to provocation, taunting, mockery, whatever. We just don't care about that stuff, and we know the -consequences- of violence very well.
But none of our recent immigrant brethren have seen the -other- part of the Canadian psyche. I suggest before starting another round of provocations, agitators in the immigrant community should read a little history about Canada's part in the wars of the Twentieth Century. Pay particular attention to the battles in which Canadians were outnumbered and outgunned, and what happened. Maybe have a look at the Battle of the Medak Pocket, for example. Or Vimy Ridge.
People should appreciate what they're getting into. Its only fair.
rd @ 5:13
Your point #2, that all this has hurt Obama. I been wondering the same thing.
The fact that a star power personage like Billary is admitting responsibility, is to admit that a huge mistake was made. That makes the WH look culpable.
Is Rodham giving him the rod?
When is saying "I'm responsible for ____ " not taking responsibility?
She's a real standup gal. How many kinds of depraved do you have to be to stand in front of the coffins of dead officials and lie you ass off about why they're dead?
Vice President Biden's claim in the debate that
"we did not know"
about requests for more security in Benghazi.
Now Hillary tells us it was all her fault?
She must have lied to Vice Joe because we all know
Smoking Joe(plugs)Biden and the Obama clowns would never lie to us,
or would they?
The dog, pony, clown show keeps on playing while Americans die..
I think it's an internal political fight.
First, I blame Obama for Benghazi. The reason for this is that he has set the self-image of Himself and His administration as one that has defeated Al Qaeda. That is the cornerstone of his, ah, so-called 'foreign policy'..which is actually one that denies the reality of Islamic terrorism by, just denying that it exists.
As such, Obama's view is that His killing of Bin Laden ended Al Qaeda. Apart from the fact that Obama didn't kill Bin Laden; it was a decade of work by the intelligence community and the Seals, what Obama ignores is that Islamic fascism doesn't operate by a central command and singular leader. It operates as hundreds of self-organized cells without a central command but with a common terrorist agenda. So killing Bin Laden was totally irrelevant to the functioning of Islamic terrorism. Islamic fascism today is strong and thriving.
Third, Obama's agenda could not allow Benghazi to be a terrorist act. He therefore ordered Susan Rice to go out with her five media performances of 'it was the video' and thus, US fault. And Hillary supported him.
Then, the questions from the public and others rejected the WH story as false. The WH then turned to blame others, both Intelligence and the State Dept, to retain its Purity.
Should Hillary have fought back? If she had, and Obama lost the election, the DNC would blame her. Since she, or at least Bill, has their eye on 2016, then, they can't afford to upset and implode the Democratic Party.
The reason for her support, I suggest, is totally political. Nothing to do with truth.
There is very little money when not in power, these thieves will do/say anything to retain power, remember Cretin/Martin, the thought of sitting across the isle, and not being able to dip into trillions of borrowed money is very motivating for a liberal, they care not about dead soldiers civilians, some friends whoever, they care nothing about the future and the next generation, only about more money. They take no responsibility as long as they get the money. Running an honest show and looking to the future means stealing more to this administration. This woman is one of the worst of the worst, which is who, is running that show for 21 more days.
Disregard the headlines and look at what she actually said. She's blaming this on the "Security Professionals, and is distancing herself from any actual decisions that were made. A pretty shallow taking of responsibility if you ask me. And, note that she made her statement from Perus where no questions could be posed to her and she could simply slip into hiding again. I mean, with the shit hitting the State Dept. fan, what could possibly be so effing important in Peru that would take her there?
So exactly what is going on? Hillary makes this announcement, from a foreign nation, the day before the next debate. She accepts responsibility for Benghazi while not accepting responsibility for Benghazi and tries to dump it on lower staff.
Something stinks and I fear there's even more to this story that has yet to show its face. What really was going on in that building that was so important that the Ambassador had to go there on 9/11, despite inside info that it was going to be attacked?
You want to see awkward?
Wait until the first Benghazi question comes up at the debate tonight, and Romney asks Obama if he wants to go find Hillary to answer the questions for him.
Not sure Hillary has done Obama any favours with this, particularly with the timing.
The focus on the video and on whether Joe the plagiarizer knew about the lax and laughable security is a distraction. The issues are, first, why the security at Benghazi was so inept at the outset, and second, why, when they knew the consulate was under attack---it went on for about 6 hours; they watched on live video feeds---did they not send in forces to protect it and its officials.
Hillary's claim that even if the consulate had been fully secured, that would not have prevented the attack and the murders, is risible. She's a real standup gal.
Syd B, that's an important question; why was the ambassador at the Consulate rather than the Embassy on that particular day? Surely his meeting with the Turkish envoy could have been in Tripoli rather than Benghazi.
But, I think that what is going on now between Obama and the Clintons is an internal power struggle. Obama's 'foreign policy' rests on His view that He has conquered Al Qaeda. Nothing must interfere with this view and certainly, reality must not intrude.
The fact is, that it's going to take a generation, and that's at least 50 years, as Newt Gingrich pointed out, to get rid of Islamic fascism. The cause of this fascism, which is not the West, but the refusal of the MENA to modernize, will take that long to dissolve. The West has to acknowledge this and develop its plans to face this reality.
Obama has no interest in reality. Or in America's well being. His focus is on Himself as self-authored in his own bubble of imaginary words. Therefore, nothing, and certainly not reality, must intrude on his re-election.
He threw the Intelligence and the State Depts under the bus about this event. I think that Hillary is waiting and hoping for Obama to lose this election; then, she can move and rewrite her image. As others have noted, she didn't take personal blame; she took departmental blame.
She risked imploding the Democratic Party if she had refused to take the blame for Obama and she risked their blaming his election loss on her and thus ending her 2016 chances.
It's all political. It's about power. Not about truth or reality.
Their Ambassador was brutally treated and killed and they're playing the blame game? Politics can be a dirty game but this is beyond the pale.
Obama and Clinton deserve each other, how they sleep at night is beyond comprehension.
Hilary Clinton is a Clinton.
And she is not on the way out. She's feathering her bed to get back into the white house that she and Bill miss so much.
Taking responsibility means nothing other than to show her followers that she really is a leader and deserves the top job after Obama gets tossed.
Ed- exactly right.
Hillary is showing that she, at least, takes responsibility, as a leader, even if she 'wasn't told' because there are so many in her department. This is in direct opposition to Biden's claim that he and Obama weren't 'told'.
Hillary is publicizing that she doesn't play the blame game. The fact that her motive for so doing is not truth or responsibility, but is personal political power - heh - as you say, that's the Clintons. And politics.
I would suggest that, as disturbingly Argentinian as the idea of a President Hillary is (i.e., the wife of "el Presidente" becomes "la Presidente"), she needs to get out of that disastrous SecState job ASAP if she is to make a run at 2016.
I still maintain that the Obama administration made a brilliant move offering her that SecState position. They knew her ego would never let her refuse it.
And they also knew it would politically neuter her for at least four crucial years.
“We have just learned that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has claimed full responsibility for any failure to secure our people and our Consulate in Benghazi prior to the attack of September 11, 2012. This is a laudable gesture, especially when the White House is trying to avoid any responsibility whatsoever.
...
The security of Americans serving our nation everywhere in the world is ultimately the job of the Commander-in-Chief. The buck stops there."

Like I said...Clinton has not done Obama any favours with this. This is a land mine.

Pool: "Reporter: 'Is Hillary to blame for Benghazi?' Obama: Silence. Kept walking."
bartinsky at 9:12am, I must respectfully disagree with your statement that there is very little money when not in power. Ex-presidents receive six figure sums for one speech, which Bill Clinton is doing now. Hillary could hit the international lecture circuit and make probably half or more of what Bill makes as she will be an ex-FLOTUS and ex-SecState. Madeline Albright, Bill Clintons SecState is on the speaking circuit and has authored five books so far.
After the election Hillary will not be employed and will be free to crank out an autobiography, the advance payment from the publisher will probably net her $10M or more. Then she will hit the lecture circuit raking in more cash and campaigning for the 2016 nomination simultaneously.
Hillary took responsibility, put her arm around it's shoulder, and showed it out the back door.
Now the MSM, which was beginning to be forced to cover the 9-11 Benghazi consulate terrorist attack which it had been trying to embargoe, can quit covering the story, again, and bring you back to the regularly scheduled election spin.
Carry on as you were, American cousins.
Just wondering if during this town hall debate if someone will be asking if a person in either candidates administration made such a bad judgement that caused the death of a diplomat, would they fire that individual our worry about payback?
Look Biden has already admitted that these two (Biden and Obama) were cupable since they "did not know" there was a need for more security. It was their job to know.
Syd B, "So exactly what is going on? Hillary makes this announcement, from a foreign nation, the day before the next debate. She accepts responsibility for Benghazi while not accepting responsibility for Benghazi and tries to dump it on lower staff."
Exactly, and like Ed suggests she is positioning herself for 2016, and at the same time taking the heat off of the Marxist-in-Chief for tonight's debate. Furthermore, she is hoping the 100 day rule will kick in and people will forget that she, Obama and her department dropped the ball that resulted in people dying and giving Al Qaeda a victory.
Phantom @ 8:23, I agree. Reading suggestion: Son of Hamas by Mosab Hassan Yousef. He also agrees with what you said.
She let Billy Bob humilate her before the global media now she's playing patsey for Obama. So much for being her own woman, she'll take it up the butte to save the men in her life.
Given the state of "Law Enforcement" and the "Legal System" in the USA these days, the answer to that tweet is obvious.
Jail the video-maker for TWICE as long.

Oh, oh, double post, something about a pale green screen with lots of numbers and letters.
Sorry.
ET @ 9:59:
I think a generation is the average age at which women have children. In North America that's about 25 - in islamic countries that's about 14. But more than one generation will be required.
Ed, bang on!
This reminds me of a large corporation facing a tainted product situation getting out ahead of the curve to avoid long term damage to its brand. Remember Tylenol decades ago. Done right, it can actually benefit from its successful handling of potentially devastating PR.
ONLY... they get out ahead of the curve, not two weeks behind it!
As Kate suggested way up the thread, true falling-on-your-sword honour is obsolete.
Politicians take responsibility for nothing. They only suck up praise. Which is partly our fault. We should demand resignation, or jail for criminal acts. Its even worse in Canada.
To use a friends death for a political charade is despicable. Worse though was the lying about it to people like their idiots. I guess where just not her type of people as she said about Sara Palin.
At one time Politicians did have punishments for events like Waco. Now they know no matter what the outrage they are covered. So why have them?
