The Tolerant Left

"All teachers are heroes." At least, that's what we're constantly told by pundits on the Left. That must go a long way to explaining this:

Math teacher, no less.

I'd hire a tutor.

These sort are everywhere. There is a professor at UPEI who delivered a first year class that compared Hitler's Holocost against the jews to Christianity. Now thats insulting, but what kid has the courage to say so when a teacher abuses their authority in order to be a bully?

Unionize teachers know where their dinner's hanging.

Thanks for reminding me that I get to have thanksgivving dinner with the inlaws. Two sisters that were teachers and one brother in law. I get to hear how yes, they were heroes, at least up until they retired in their early 50's, and indeed Dalton McGuinty is the best premier Ontario ever had, if only because he showed them the respect they deserved. Meanwhile I'll continue to work, create wealth and pay for their thrice annual trips.free drugs, free dental etc, etc, etc

Silly teacher.

Doesn't he/she know that students love to support anything that their elders don't? Next week there will be dozens of Romney shirts in the halls.

The parents are wrong to call for the teacher's resignation. They should be calling for the teacher to fired.

I'm inclined to think that 'martyr syndrome' is now a job requirement for public teaching.

She should move to the TDSB, where her sentiments would be welcome.

Yeah right the Oprah wannabe, was just joking....just like hitler and Himler were....

This sorta stuff is not unique. The was a video on u-tube I saw where a kid taped with a cell phone...a teacher declaring that "yo can go ta jail fo criticizin' tha presdent."

That's right...that tax funded mentor was talking ebonics...not english.

The "Mr.Chips" type of teacher died with that generation,to be replaced by the teachers of the "ME" generation, the most entitled bunch I've ever met.

Teachers constantly rave on about their "sacrifices, hard work, long days, extracurricular activities,burn-out",etc., but never mention the number of days a year they actually work.In B.C.it's less than 180 days a year.

They also fail to mention their many professional days, sick days, bereavement days, pension,or the ability to retire at an early age.

Teachers are, with some exceptions of course, one of the most politically coddled professions on the planet, and the last few decades, haven't lived up to their own rhetoric.

The teacher mentioned in the article should be fired, period.

They said is I voted for McCain...aw the hell with it.

Silly wabbit. Go take a remedial history class, seeing as you do not know the KKK was started by DemoncRats.
Really is sad to seeing the dumbing down of teachers/profs.

This is the best thing which could happen (other than no incident)! What a perfect way for kids to express their rebelliousness than by wearing Romney T-shirts?

Email the principal at: jhoog@phila.k12.pa.us and demand this teacher be fired.

Dissent is not tolerated?? Was the teacher wearing a brown shirt by any chance?

Reminds me of political classroom where the political leanings of the professor counted more than the work handed in. Protected by unions, never challenged by their students they passed a generation through the system of left leaning political correct graduates. The mistake this teacher is she spoke out loud her political leaning to her class and trying to remove any political descent from her classroom. Typical leftist response of the teacher was she was only joking, no harm done. Until she fails the next student who wears the wrong political tee shirt or gives higher marks to one with the right one.
Politics in the classroom bah but a fact of life now with the new religion leftist politics

Any "educator" who speaks like that should be mopping floors, not in front of a classroom.

Where can I get some of those T-Shirts for my Grandkids?

When my son was in grade 5 or 6 he was sent home for wearing a Marilyn Manson T-shirt. It was just a silhouette monochrome head shot of the 'artist'. No text, lyrics, etc. He and I went back to the school and he ended up wearing for the rest of the day. The teachers at his school developed a real distaste for me over the years. Always been proud of that.

Not a political story but somewhat similar. Teachers are largely dinks.

I heard this story yesterday. DISCUSSTING!

This woman should be fired and lose her right to teach for these bullying tactics. This is far worse that the teacher who argued the student claiming that Bush threw people in jail for disagreeing.

Marilyn Manson...now there's a great role model for my kid !

To think we has a higher reading, math with others rates when we only had one room school houses with, one teacher & no computers. In the 19th century yet.

Vizzy,

There is a way to avoid having to put up with your sisters' rubbish. Spend Thanksgiving elsewhere.

I'll spend it with my wife's people, a good Romanian family who survived communism and are grateful for what they've worked for in Canada. My own sister and mother are parasites who've between them taken every cent my father ever earned and then some.

If it's any comfort, there'll be a bright side to Ontario's running out of other people's money. Your sisters will finally find out what the plain people of Upper Canada, including their long-suffering pupils, think of their blasted entitlements.

If a Canadian winter spent in a dark, freezing house (or a car) without hearing a human voice that isn't a bill collector won't teach the old bags a lesson in humility, nothing will. You can bet their old pupils won't be lining up to change their filthy diapers.

We need to be intolerant of pubilc education.

Typical childish defense -- 'I was just joking. He he he". Twit.

No, floor-moppers have dignity - these spoiled, entitled jerks have none.

Most teachers are women now, but I'm sure that's a coincidence.

That teacher Must Be Fired. (God, can you imagine the shrieking if this had happened in a red state and the kid had been wearing an Obama/Biden [he still on the ticket?] t-shirt? And rightly so, BTW.)

Every time I click on the video play button, all I get is an arrow going in a circle. This is another example of how SDA is sometimes too cryptic for me to understand.

@woodporter: agreed re cryptic links, been bugging me a long time too.

I'm a big SDA fan, but usually don't bother following those short terse links with little or no description of the content.

Much as I dislike the CBC, you can mouse over the web page news links for a brief description; very convenient, I end up reading more of the content as a result
