Neil MacDonald sounds very sad.

I don't know where the screams and bawling will be louder, Chicago or CBC headquarters when Romney wins..

Anyone looking for a dose of pure, vile hatred should check out the comments. I imagine there are a few strokes going on with the CBC crowd after seeing this printed on their precious CBC!

AHhahahaha the comments are even more hatred and malice laced then usual - what stage is "anger" again?

The comments are a wonderful indication of the masses to whom the CBC panders to. Good article and surprising to see on that site.

um, bad grammar - lose the 'to' after 'panders'.

This is the same Neil Macdonald who badmouthed Sarah Palin. He can go to hell for all I care.

Ah Neil MacDonald, another urbane and polite commentator on the American scene. Clever lad. The art of appearing to be a fair minded and informative analyst, yet with a slight change of intonation, convey some sort of incredulity.

At least we will be spared certain of the attractive ladies of the CBC going to Washington. Figuratively to throw their underwear at one particular candidate.

Go Romney.

Neil has been getting the crap kicked out of him by the leftards in the comments his last couple of columns.... anything less than full on moonbat is not appreciated by the mothercorp faithful...

Is it just my imagination or is Lil' Neil going for the "Distinguished Sean Connery" look? If so, one wonders if it helps him pick up 20-something "progressive" co-eds in DC? Though most don't seem to know a thing about the Benghazi fiasco, let alone who James Bond in the 1960's was!

P.S. Has anyone else read the comments on the story at CBC.ca? Wow! Stalin's reference to "Useful Idiots" is spot-on with that crowd!

Be kind people because Neil is in the final 2 contestants of the reality show called, no not The Voice, no not The X factor, or American Idol, no Neil is a finalist for my up-coming reality blockbuster called ''A Canadian idiot in America hating good Americans who Have no Voice because of Idiots like Neil and the rest of the Hump Obamas Leg Media".

Robert W, I generally only read the first 2 or 3 comments at the CBC or BBC sites. We all have our limits, seriously.

Check out the comments Neil got here...

Leftards are calling Mitt Romney a thief now?

The comments from the CBC birkenstock braided arm-pit hair crowd are something to read. Their admiration for Obama has nothing to do with his actual performance as president and everything to do with the fact that he's left of center.

Boys oh boys!
Just watching CBC. Going full flight on some Republican making a statement about rape and God's purpose. Next showing Governor Romney at one point in time endorsing that particular Republican. They did allow that Romney disavowed that statement.
Heck, we may as well be watching a full fledged Democrat paid information segment.

We had a President that refused to defend the USS Liberty. LBJ did not run for President after that event and Congress NEVER held Hearings. Treason is not tolerated

Obama refused to defend! He will be tried by the Congress if the Lying bastard somehow wins. It would be best for the Democrats if obama lost

Maybe he's remembering what reporters are supposed to do.

steal the election , is that the same as curling , scoring without the hammer? i think its a subliminal message from the hack ,kneel macdonald

Cal, I'm thinking he should change his name from Kneel Mcdonald to bend Over Mcdonald.

"...his (Obama's) preternaturally calming nature..."

He makes me want to tear my eyeballs out, but whatever.

A few of the CBC faithful are pushing a scenario that involves one of Mitt's sons controlling the voting machines,or something like that.
I think that this scenario and the headline containing the word 'steal' is the beginning of a new conspiracy theory. Watch for it if Obama loses in November.

Actually a prominent donkey in Ohio is whinning that the R/R clan will rig the Ohio vote....

OK - who ghost-wrote that? Kneel is obviously kidnapped and held for ransome by his evil twin.

Oh...sorry - Kneel is the evil twin. Must have been the other twin that wrote the piece.

The comments are truly hilarious.

I'm with marc, three comments, I gave up. Wow.

Syncrodox @ 10:42pm, that link you provided truly broke my spirit. Reading through the comments there, I realize how far gone so many in our society are.

Thought experiment: Imagine that CNN released a clear video of Barack Obama repeatedly punching a pregnant woman in the stomach. Later in the video it showed her with her doctor and the revelation that the baby had been lost because of the attack.

How would many on the Left react to that? Do you think even 30% of them would be appalled and publicly state that they no longer supported Obama?

Now, further to the thought experiment, imagine that in the video it was revealed that the woman had a large Romney campaign button on when Obama attacked her. How would that change the earlier 30% I suggested?

I am always amused by the comparison of tax rates paid by the rich and the not so rich. Would you rather get 14% from Romney (ie.$2.8 M) or 30 % from some schmuck making 65,000(i.e. 19,200)14 %, or 10% or 5% of something will ALWAYS be more that 100% of 0.

Jeez Robert...didn't mean to break your spirit but I know what you mean.

As per your thought experiment...in the first instance most would deny the video was real but was a VRWC, in the second they would say she deserved it...racist, imperialist, breeder bitch.

Such is the lack of principles that permeates the batshit crazy, indoctrinated and over/under educated left.

That said, we will prevail for the simple reason that our friends on the left are the least equipped to survive in the world they long for.

It isn't gonna be pretty though.

"Acquired ability to act..." Yes, folks, just reporting the facts here. "Professional" "journalists" make me want to vomit.

We need to add a new course in our public education. It would be a language skills course. "How to consume media" might be a good starting title. In the first semester, it would concentrate on key words used by "professional" "reporters" to cloak opinions as facts. "Identifying and rejecting a lurking editorial agenda" fills the second semester.

Advertisers are wasting their money trying to reach me through the CBC. I don't watch. I don't have a TV. I don't buy newspapers or magazines.

The comments are something else; apparently the average CBC reader thinks that rich people heap their money into a pile like Scrooge McDuck rather than spending it to hire more employees and grow their business.

I agree with shaken that we need a better educated populace, but I would add basic economics to the curriculum in every country. The reason the EU and the USA are ruinously indebted is that the majority of voters believe that government can create a free lunch, and every other entitlement, out of thin air. In reality the voters and their children and grandchildren will pay for what the government 'gave' them.

Macdonald: "This rich patrician ... who seems painfully unable to connect with average wage-earners, has acquired the ability to look and sound both reasonable and presidential."

Give me a break.

The only reason "this rich patrician" (and that's a crime?) has seemed "unable to connect with average wage-earners" is because the MSM has done its damnedest to make sure that Romney appears to the average voter as above the fray. The MSM don't want Romney to connect with the average voter and present him to the public through their own mean-spirited, partisan filter.

'Looks like it's not working, Neil. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.

Neil doesn't even mention the credibility disaster that the regime has created for itself in its lies and evasions over the Benghazi attack. After all, can't have the CBC faithful turn suicidal, can we?

If all Romney will be is Obama-lite then nothing much will be gained by his election. People are pulling behind him because they hopefully realize that Obama never was what he claimed in the first place. Maybe it takes a Romney to get enough support in Congress to actually get necessary financial decisions made.

Numbers don't lie. Entitlements must be reduced and it is highly unlikely that Americans can grow their way back to prosperity. Government cannot continue to take the majority of GDP under their wing. I suspect Romney knows that. His greatest challenge will be doing something about it. His business background could carry the day. He has real creds in that department where GWB and Obama did not.

It is always fun to have my liberal Canadian friends, who get all of their American info from the CBC and CNN and the worldwide "hate America" liberal network, talk about American politics. I cannot dream of why Canadians care about American politics, 'cause 99% of Americans only think about Canadians at vacation time, and maybe during hockey season, if at all. I then ask those liberals if their country is better off under the current Tories than under Trudeau, and they quickly change the subject.
