The ongoing boycott of the biggest news story in the world by most mainstream media outlets screams out for the following poll question to be given to all American journalists:
If you had these two choices, which path would you take:
1. Pursue the Benghazi story doggedly, no matter where the leads take you. This will likely result in you winning the Pulitzer Prize. It may also result in helping to cause Barack Obama to lose the 2012 election.
2. Sit on the story and do nothing, ensuring that Barack Obama is not hurt by it.
What percentage of today's journalists would answer #1 and what percentage would answer #2?
I'd say that about 2% would answer #1, and the remaining 98% would answer #2. I'd also say that the Pulitzer people wouldn't give the prize to anybody who broke a story making a Democrat look bad.
I'm much more optimistic. 5%-#1, 95%-#2.

Oh, Robert. We all know the Pulitzer goes to the journalist who can spin #1 into a Bush-Romney debacle that boosts Obama and helps him win in 2012.

It's a sad commentary on the media when liberals have to go to Fox to hear the truth. Are the owners of CNN so committed to the liberal cause that they willingly give up big coin to suppress stories. There used to be a proud field called investigative journalism. How many more human interest stories about Girl Guides collecting dresses for down-and-out transvestites do we need?
The 'independent press' version would have the "Obama-Nation(tm) thinking he was playing a video game 'Medal of Honour'. He thought he could just push the 'REVIVE' button for a replay.
Unfortunately, the 'Obamessiah' is some distance removed from performing feats of resurrection; so he may have to sit this one out.
But just look at all the sheeple...hopefully not lead to the slaughter! It appears that the 'independent and free press' are the ones behaving like sheeple. Bah, bah...humbug.
The 'Pravda press' would have a hard time covering St. Nicolaas giving presents to children because it doesn't fit their world view. They would much rather sit among the cynical scoffers, than harm their 'Anointed'.

That question is best posed to journalism students. If we see less than 10% interested in pursuing a story that will wreak a corrupt governing cabal, you can bet on 2 things:
1) Journalism degrees do not certify journalists, just political activists
2) There will be a lot of journalism grads working at Wal-Mart when they implode their industry because of public backlash to political manipulation masquerading as journalism.

Consider the Jimmy Savile scandal currently engulfing the BBC. Jimmy Savile was a TV personality with a taste for young boys and girls apparently, it all came out with his death a couple weeks ago. (No doubt Jimmy is enjoying his Heavenly reward now.)
The scandal has boiled the BBC in oil, as it appears that -many- BBC types had a hand in, so to speak. The scandal has also reached out and got some on the new head of the New York Times, according to stories on Drudge.
Perhaps we are seeing the silence in the MSM as a result of wide ranging blackmail or a quid pro quo? It has always struck me that most of these Big Lefties talk like a pack of perverts when you joust with them on-line, so perhaps it isn't so far fetched.
Maybe some enterprising black-ops ninjas could take advantage of such a golden opportunity.

Journalism has always been a liberal field, but this could be overpowered by ego - people wanted to get a story and succeed, or at least piss off important people. Nothing wrong with that. Now, however, they cheerfully sublimate themselves for the glory of this cause, and in particular, one worn out empty suit.

Well, as I pointed out (but forgot to post or got deleted) the Pullitzer Prize is no benchmark of moral or intellectual integrity. Neither is the Dynamite Guy's prize.
Walter Durany won one for praising Stalin and down-playing the Ukrainian genocide. And it was not withdrawn, unlike say, Lance Armstrong's 7 prizes.

The press have largely had no qualms about being Obama's lapdogs, however disgraceful their current behaviour. However, it's not like there isn't news about Benghazi anywhere. If a voter won't research it, what does it say about him?
I'm clean disgusted with Obama and his press lackeys but I'm even more disgusted with the voters who still latch on to him four years after a disastrous administration, with or without the Benghazi incident.
I think the press would fall largely into the second category- ignore the story and keep Obama safe. Their egos have to be preserved. They might miss out on a prize but they are on record as saying Obama is the best for four years. Something's got to give.
So unfortunate, the citizens of the USA, are sleep walking through this election. Not many are political watchers, and so if not grabbed by the arm and told watch this, have no idea what's going on around them. Oh free condoms, Obamas's the man. I fear the poser is going to be re-elected. With the hurricane, any chance of Obama being outed is slim to none.
