About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Yeah well look at the bright side....
While they are after this doob....they're leavin' the rest of us alone.
The whole situation could be titled "when fools clash".
" “The butterflies used in this [Hirst] work were all sourced from reputable UK butterfly houses "
Do we want to know what goes on in the other butterfly houses?
A fraud meets his obnoxious twit critics: perfect!
BTW,is that a Hirst up in the corner?
Isn't this one of those "pray for an asteroid" moments?
Let's give this guy some credit here . . . He is running one of the greatest cons ever, grifting the urban progressive rube class into paying him a lot of money for this junk.
Not as good as a stack of soup cans being passed off as art, but close.
Let's give this guy some credit here . . . He is running one of the greatest cons ever...

Hell, yes. As long as I'm not the fool paying for it, more power to him.
Just hope he doesn't show up on these shores, though.
I mean, after the National Gallery pissed away $1.8 million of our tax-dollars on Voice of Fire back in 1998, I'm kinda nervous that Jinglin' Jimmy Moore (the guy who funded pro-Taliban rappers)might feel the time is ripe for more stupidity...
ART.... thought he wuz the guy living next door????
wallyj.....that was priceless.
Flipping burgers...hmmm. Great idea for his next display, a front-end-loader flipping a cow..... of course it would have to come from a reputable cow house.
A real snuff artist. This is art? Its beyond degenerate. Its transitory with no meaning at all.
I wish you wouldn't insult McDonald's burger flippers. People at McDonald's work hard to earn their money and many young people start their careers there. I have great respect for young people willing to work so hard while putting on a smile for the customers despite the hard work.
Contrast McDonald's workers any day with the lazy occupiers who expect to be handed their money on a silver platter by so-called 1%ers.
I bet the trenties & progresives are in a real pickle. In the beginning I'm sure they were impressed with this art (?) but now that they've realized the truth they'll be horrified. What a joke and I mean both the reaction and the art in the first place. Maybe I should set a new natural art trend my self, I'll call it a display of Prairie Road Kill.
I love it. It's taxation on the phony artsy crowd while screwing with their heads over the "cruelty" bs. Speaking of screwed heads, that picture in the Link shows a head far too large for the body beneath. Is that just a fish-eye lens effect or photoshop?
What's really ironic is that butterflies are all doomed to die anyway. A butterfly is simply a caterpillar's way of making more caterpillars. The very word "butterfly" is a synonym for "ephemeral".
Butterflies in the wild mostly get eaten by predatory insects and birds.
A few years past, I tacked together (welded) items from my short steel bin at random and set the result out front.
A few days passed, then a dude appeared, said he was tipped off by a friend. He enquired as to my title for it.
With a straight face, I replied..."Promise of Spring".
He offered $1,500.00 and I said "CNR".
This threw him....Cash No Receipt...
He said "I'll be back".
When he returned he expressed anxiety that it would still be there.
My painter...later...asked "How do you sleep at night."
"Usually on my right side."
Hissy fits between hissy's, what’s new?
Oh yea, it makes the news now like it's important to the real world of logic and heterosexuality.
sasquatch, LOL! Presentation is everything when taking advantage of rubes:)
I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall when your customer tries to resell the masterpiece.

I agree, a better headline would be:
"Somewhere out there, a Starbucks is missing its Barista"
It's The Royal Porcupine! Who knew Atwood would be so prescient?
I admit that I had my own reservations about the burger flipper comment. The Starbucks suggestion is far superior.
Butterfly exhibit in zoo = cruel
Art exhibit to entertain the libtard elite = pass
sasquatch at October 14, 2012 2:41 PM
"a new one is born" would have been a very approriate "title" :-)))))
Gadzooks!..What are the implications vis a vis the butterfly effect..?..
Isn't that just a lamer version of the butterly room at the botanical gardens?
buttrfly. Sigh.
I reluctantly find myself siding with this doofuc "artiste" against the morbid values of the SPCA. Insects are NOT animals so Piss off idiots!
...Mamba...the butterfly technique..?..
No. The butterly technique. Or the buttrfly technique.
Stuff is hard.
Some stuff is hard...some soft...que sera sera...
The tolerant progressive types are all up in arms that a room full of insects are dying...and they are demonstrating their humanity and progressive nature by calling for the "artist" to be tortured &/or killed. The comments under the original article are atrocious if not surprising.

Can't they both lose?
Were the dead animals...small?

On Saturday there was a picture of the painting sold by Eric Clapton, can't remember the "artist" for $34 million. Just a piece of crap that any one of us could paint by slapping different colours on a canvas. I have a framed painting by my son done in grade 3 and look at it anytime I see this so-called art and I think his colours and composition are just as good as these people.
A friend paints "modern art" as a hobby and I have one of her paintings on the wall in front of my desk. I have seen similar paintings like hers in galleries for $1,000s of dollars, can't see any difference. Guess I don't have the elitist cloud dweller's eye.

I dunno, living in the deep south all we have are African-Americans working McDonald's, and believe me they suck. The two we have were always dirty and nasty. Quit going years ago.
Butterflies die on windscreens.
Somewhere in the world, there is a typhoon.
Or some such chaos theory nonsense.
Hirst is a sick individual but just as sick are people who would make a big issue out of insects.
The "butterfly effect" is a scientific principle used in describing explosions at dairies.
