Some of your theme topics have a cringe worthy attempt at wit. This one always does that to me. I get the metaphor you're going for, but it just doesn't actually translate all that well.

I'd say the same for some of your self advertised quotes... especially: "Pleasing your enemies will not make them your friends". There's no play on words or linguistic elegance in that. These are things that usually make quotes noteworthy. You may as well just write "It snowed today."

Beyond that, if you actually evaluate what you're saying, one would note that the quote has no place in realpolitik. Pleasing your enemies does have its place. For instance, Kate complains about Muslim fundamentalists being elected in Egypt. Yeah that sucks. But the reason that the previous dictator lasted so long was because the US bought him a long time ago. Prior to that Egypt didn't play well with the US or Israel. An enemy was pleased to make that happen. A million other examples could issued as well.

Anyway, my general point is that I am a lot smarter than the blog author. ;)
