About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

From the US Department of Labour (as of today):
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm
"Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (7.3 percent),
adult women (7.0 percent), and whites (7.0 percent) declined over the month.
The unemployment rates for teenagers (23.7 percent), blacks (13.4 percent), and
Hispanics (9.9 percent) were little changed. The jobless rate for Asians, at
4.8 percent (not seasonally adjusted), fell over the year. (See tables A-1, A-2,
and A-3.)...
Among the marginally attached, there were 802,000 discouraged workers in
September, a decline of 235,000 from a year earlier. (These data are not
seasonally adjusted.) Discouraged workers are persons not currently looking
for work because they believe no jobs are available for them. The remaining
1.7 million persons marginally attached to the labor force in September had
not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey for reasons such
as school attendance or family responsibilities. (See table A-16.)"
Gotta love it:
"I'm a rich man if I don't count my family's spending!"
Rick is right on top of all the flim flam numbers game of economic massage.
A refreshing blast of truth, to ventilate the windbag talking points.

We have a lower corporate tax rate than the US does and having looked into moving to the US I can tell you that for many states you end up paying more in taxes than here. They are going in the complete opposite direction to us. Hopefully we don't jump on the death train and vote in the dippers.
Santelli is my favorite guy on the tube. Always tells it like it is.
What I find particularly amusing this year with the DemocRats and their "numbers" bull puckey, is that they still think we aren't going to notice.
Hey, uhm Lefty dudes? We noticed.
There was a time that simple numbers and basic math told the whole story. Now the figures are so manipulated that anything coming from the government is suspect. 60+ million people listened to Obama last night and half probably believed everything he said with no further analysis done on their part. Small wonder the country is heading over the fiscal cliff.
peterj, "Now the figures are so manipulated that anything coming from the government is suspect." Exactly! My statistics prof said 42 years ago that a set of statistics may be used to make a point by one group and the same figures can be used by another group to make an opposing point. In the case of government the statistics will always be used to make itself look good and in this case Rick called bull on the manipulation.
It is always a pleasure to hear Rick call it like it is.
@Osumashi Kinyobe ....just wait until Californicated's numbers come in! They are expected by the USPS to be delivered to the nation Nov 07.
I do not believe any number for the Kremlin on the Potomac
.... FROM the .... duh!
Obama was elected on Nov 6th 2009, and the Country
TANKED... He has to count the economy from that date! The swearing in date is a Scam..
When Mitt wins on Nov 6th 2012 he will own the numbers from that date...
Love Santelli! He has to get rave reviews or have friends inside MSN-NBC or he would be out on the street. Deep down I think people still realize that numbers don't lie. Rick is great at adding the numbers up a stating the obvious, it ain't working.
