The US government will not default on any debts. It will simply issue currency to cover any redemptions. The US central Reserve manages a world currency, in a world that has an insatiable demand of it's paper currency. As proof, look at what has happened in the last 4 years since the financial crisis of 2008. Through a number of actions, the US Central Reserve has issued Trillions into the money supply, and the value of the US dollar as a world currency continues. Since the world left the gold standard in 1972, the value that backs currencies is the belief by you, me, and all those who use currency to hold value, actually believe it is worth something. Witness the Euro, and the collapse of it value because of it's limited use as a world currency.
No default will happen, just a very slow devaluation.

It is truly pathetic that financial skulduggery can not be prevented.
