Here's a very cool time-lapse video of the Space Shuttle Endeavour being taken from LAX to its final home at the California Science Center. It would have been quite spectacular to live along that route.
Your fascinating reader tips are encouraged, as always, in the comments.

Cool video but does anybody else find it ironic that the last symbol of American space dominance was put to rest in L.A.?
I found that video wonderful and very, very, sad.
Sad to see it parked. Next stop--Mars.
CBC must be getting worried, they are running their Mormon hit piece on The National earlier than I expected.
CBC and the MSM in general worried about Mitts Mormon undies but not about BamBam running around without them in the Chicago bathhouses
Larry O'Connor was hosting Dennis Miller's show Wednesday. A woman named Lynn called up and made a reference to "Pollywood". By this she combined "Politics" & "Hollywood". In other words, she was referring the overglamorousness and glibness of idiotic political pundits be they on MSNBC, CNN, or The View.

Twitterers wishing they could assassinate Mitt Romney:

Must be those damn Teabaggers again.
I don't think there's anything spectacular about a funeral.
Maybe that's a little overwrought, as NewSpace is following on with some really exciting stuff. I think that's how the West is going to evolve a durable, lasting space civilization, if one can be made at all, not a government program which has evolved into a machine to funnel salaries to its' employees and vendors. The most helpful thing a government can do is offer prizes payable upon completion of the terms of the prize, and then stand back out of the way. That way no public money is expended until actual completion of a goal.
Sad to see Endeavour sitting idle(how come they used the Brit/Canuck sp?) Oh well .At least NASA can now work on getting them Persian rugs flying! And promoting cAGW.The end of the shuttle era tells a lot more about the condition of America then even BamBam.
Here is video of the shuttle's last flight over California, as it is being flown into LAX. Video was shot from an FA-18 chase plane:

I can't get this out of my head, but it could be much worse, so I share. (We insomniacs do have a purpose in life. I think it's a counterintuitive evolutionary adaptation, like gayness. I'll sleep when I'm dead, or after the election, whichever comes first.)
The singer was George's aunt, and I like her a lot better than I like him.
"All you Calabrese do the Mambo like you crazy..."
Very interesting to see how much of a draw this is to regular folks. Space still gets people's attention.
MSM/AGW Survey: 10%? 90%?

"Return to winter on tap after balmy 2011-12"
"“I can say with 90 per cent confidence that it will be a colder winter than last year and also there will be more snowfall than last year,” said AccuWeather expert senior meteorologist Jack Boston from the U.S. weather information company in State College, Penn."

Have people seen this piece by Barry Rubin about the Bhengazhi incident. It is pretty scary if true, and it makes a lot of sense. It also goes a long way to explaining the bizarre response of the White House and Clinton to the incident:

And -- if it turns out to be true, Barry's heading off to Vegas and campaigning confirms that he is nothing but a shallow front man. One poster notes that "Obama STILL has not held a single press conference about what happened in Libya." Shame on Candy Crowley for helping with the cover-up of this disaster.

The ULTIMATE Statist Project. But sadly the Statist Era ain't over, and pace some libertarians who think that, per some kind of flip-side Clowen-Piven tactic, after the collapse a new limited government era will emerge, I don't think so!
LindaL- Thanks! Great link to PJMedia and account of Bhengazhi attack-especially the blog comments following.
This is dynamite, and if we had a media interested in fact-finding instead of fawning and adulation of a duplicit charlatan, this would have more legs!
I've mentioned before- my take that a Manchurian Candidate has usurped the office of POTUS, and I think more people will come to the realization of that calamity.
Kate- can you feature this article here on SDA?
Another era is ending---one which I dare say will be much less lamented.
That sound you hear is the asteroid hitting Newsweek. The owners of the Daily Beast website have finally figured out that they were cheated out of the dollar they paid the Washington Post for a magazine everyone could see was beyond the help of anyone but the Father of Lies.
The print edition will cease publication effective December 31. A website called Newsweek Global will keep the brand alive for now, but all but the few neckbeards needed to maintain the site will be let go. Given there will be a pay wall, I doubt even that will last long.
I wish the staff luck in new, more honest careers as cab drivers, telemarketers, hot-dog sellers and dirty hotline operators. Maybe they'll finally learn something about the world worth reporting. I look forward to reading it in on the blogs they have to update behind their supervisors' backs because nobody in his right mind will pay for their copy.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.

It looks like Michael Moore will be in Victoria on Monday. I guess timmies will be out of donuts.
Looks like Hillary Clinton isn't entirely following the Obama narrative. Good for her!
The saga of Chris Matthews' undiagnosed brain tumour continues:
“I don’t think [Romney] understands the Constitution of the United States,” Matthews said. “He’s the president of the United States. You don’t say, ‘You’ll get your chance.’”
Former aide: Obama "really doesn't like people".
Right back at ya, Barry.

Hillary Clinton is a Alinskyite just like Obama.
She has been conspiring with the OIC (Organization of the Islamic Council) to bring sharia law to the US by criminalizing criticism of Islam. And she's a psychopath like her husband Willie who receives enormous sums from the Islamic world. And like Obama for that matter.
I cannot imagine ever saying "good for you! to HRC.
Speaking of Team Clinton, I'd say the knives are out.

"President Obama’s Taxpayer-Backed Green Energy Failures"
"So far, 36 companies that have received federal support from taxpayers have either gone bankrupt or are laying off workers and are heading for bankruptcy. This list includes only those companies that received federal money from the Obama Administration’s Department of Energy.
The amount of money indicated does not reflect how much was actually received or spent but how much was offered. The amount also does not include other state, local, and federal tax credits and subsidies, which push the amount of money these companies have received from taxpayers even higher.
The complete list of faltering or bankrupt green-energy companies:
Evergreen Solar ($24 million)*
SpectraWatt ($500,000)*
Solyndra ($535 million)*
Beacon Power ($69 million)*
AES’s subsidiary Eastern Energy ($17.1 million)
Nevada Geothermal ($98.5 million)
SunPower ($1.5 billion)
First Solar ($1.46 billion)"
[...]
Satcon ($3 million)*"

Thanks to rmgk for the Endeavour link. It is kind of bitter-sweet to see the shuttle and 747 flying but knowing it is the last flight. I've had the honour of being around to "retire" more than a few aircraft in my time and they all give you that feeling. With HD and the hot mic I was transported back twenty plus years. Sigh...
