No dictator will ever need to declare martial law in America. All he’ll need to do is issue a “severe weather advisory” and everyone will stay indoors until they’re told it’s safe to come out.

About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I know it isn't in the reader tips, but this is outrageous.

It really has gone to sh$t.
...should have read;"I know it should be in the reader tips"
I thought the "Obamessiah" was going to "Stop the seas from rising".
Hey, Hurricane Sandy is here, now is your chance to "stop the seas from rising."
Oh yeah, I forgot the "Obama-Nation(tm)" is incapable of saving his OWN people...

Didn't anyone see the "X Files" movie, and learn what FEMA is really all about?
a serendipitous event for 'bama...and perhaps a chance to practice for next week's 'election stopper'...or maybe just the 'inauguration stopper' of a brainwashed liebral making good on their threats to riot if 'bama loses...or to make sure Romney doesn't make it to January...never underestimate the power of zealocy on the weak-minded who see their lifestyle of 'free phones and stuff' threatened
don't expect a seamless transfer of power..if there even is a transfer..it's not about who votes, it's about who counts the votes.

Sorry but don't make fun of "severe weather advisory".
This is serious thing. People are dying out there. have you seen the devastation pictures?
Sandy killed far more people than that Libya thing.
"The chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken." Warren Buffett
Leftists have a game plan. Unable to impose Communism via a putsch they are trying to bring it in incrementally. The size of the state keeps growing -- slowly, imperceptibly. Republicans are unable to stem the tide though they might be able to slow it down a notch, if at all. One fine morning Americans will wake up and find the agenda of CPUSA has been fulfilled.
We ridicule China for the Communist Party's monopoly of power. But the US is similar. The Republicrats enjoy a duopoly of power.
"This is serious thing. People are dying out there. have you seen the devastation pictures?"
Yeah, it's serious but most of the people dying are:
A. People being stupid
B. People exercising a complete lack of planning & forethought
C. Bad luck.
I'll guess that A and B count for about 95% of the casualties. Excuse my distinct lack of sympathy when you have over a week to think things through, or you go out in a storm and screw around.
As to the devastation, given the size of the storm, they are lucky it wasn't what most people call powerful ( nasty to be sure). Cat1 or below.
A little humour is just what the Dr. ordered.
Watched the storm coverage on Fox last night at friends house - "That's not a hurricane - that's St. John's in November" was one remark that was uttered...
Frenchdipperstick said: "Sandy killed far more people than that Libya thing."
That's only because SEALs weren't shooting at it.
Has anyone else noticed similar themes in TV programming?
Watched a couple of TV programs last-night. One originally aired in 2005 about Mormon polygamy and sexual abuse of children, in Colorado City, under the then hiding Jessop. Oddly the next program viewed, on a different channel, was about the woman who shot her husband, who was a rich trust fund white supremacist kiddie p0rn viewer, who upon discovering BHO had been elected, was going to b0mb the inauguration.
Clearly the message was Romney=Mormom=Abuser of women and children, and Obama=victim of racism by very evil man.

Oddly the next program viewed, on a different channel, was about the woman who shot her husband, who was a rich trust fund white supremacist kiddie p0rn viewer, who upon discovering who had been elected to office, was going to prevent such from happening via an act that would have caused many deaths. The first program was on OWN, the second was Discovery Investigation Network.
Clearly the message was Romney=Mormom=Abuser of women and children, and Obama=victim of racism by very evil man.
@Lori: Yes, I noticed it twice. ;-)
Probably a good idea to delete the first post of the duplicate posting. Received a very odd screen- not ever seen before when submitting a comment on this site (blue screen-not windows-not an error msg). Thinking it might have to do with the terminology and name used in the paragraph.
LuckyLori said: "Clearly the message was Romney=Mormom=Abuser of women and children, and Obama=victim of racism by very evil man."
Yep. This is why I don't have television anymore, and why the only movie I went to see this summer was The Avengers. The message is no longer subtle, its like a flashing neon sign with circles and arrows and a rock band backing it up with two hundred thousand watts of bass.
Entertainment it ain't.
That's not too bad. Over at Drudge.com there is a link to a story about the only information the White House and most of the local media are giving is to check the internet or TV for information and updates! This was from an enterprising news team in Washington DC that tried to get information by phone to pass on to their audience.
I'm kind of wondering how one does that without power? I guess you can have a wind turbine back-up system and a satellite feed...
I am really encouraged by the latest Gallup poll of early voting. I am not encouraged by all the youtube, twitter and facebook crowd of potential Democrat voters threatening to start Civil War II if Obama loses. But, then again, the one thing Obama has done is increase gun sales which could work in our favor. ;- )
,
Must say that Steyn has hit the nail on the head, as he usually does.
These days all anybody has to yell is "safety".
Right after that, they can do practically anything and everything that would be illegal otherwise.
Those that would object, would be called every derogatory word in English and other languages.
TrueNorthist, if it makes a difference, this is MoveOn we're talking about, the slackers of the slackers.
Quebeckie, that "Libya thing" is a much bigger deal than your little brain cells can comprehend and no one is laughing about Hurricane Sandy.
Osumashi Kinyobe: True, but it still hits new lows, even for the left. I had an almost visceral reaction to that first old bitty blurting out such profanity. I really don't want to be desensitized to that sort of thing. You know, sometimes I wish there was a pill that removes memories so I can forget stuff like that. Better yet, the entire time I was a stupid liberal! Jamming a knitting needle into my eye socket and wiggling it from side to side didn't work. I can still remember shaking Broad Edbent's hand. (BTW, it was weak, sweaty and smelled vaguely of fish)
Actually, "that Libya thing" killed more people than Sandy. The no-longer-in-the-Navy SEALS killed a LOT of the attackers. Reportedly more than 50 adherents of the "Religion of Peace" were sent to their afterlife.
Indeed, TrueNorthist. What is more stupefying: the leftist's idiocy or his vitriol? Sometimes I don't know.
Eeewwww... fish....

And more than the Separtiste FLQ.
What's your point? Pierre Laporte would take issue with your taking issue.
Sick comparison.

Tidal wave l'orange hit La Belle Province right up da harse.
She was not funny, for sure. Especialment pour les pauvres Quebecois!
