About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I do wish Kimmel had made some sort of indication of how many interviews they had to do to get those responses.
"Jaywalking" on display!
And these people have the vote!
The founding fathers must be in tears over how reactionary partisan politics has replaced civic/constituional duty to be informed in order to exercise democratic franchise.
Granted this WAS Hollywierd but the level of voter ignorance is wide spread - much of it is attributable to the dumbing down of the public by media and pop culture but this nation of political zombies appears to be a product of MSM agit-prop
They walk amoung us. God help us all.....
I wonder if these people were paid actors. Might not making people look like fools, on TV no less, generate concern among the station's legal staff? Not being a lawyer, I don't know, but I do wonder.
I think we've seen Romney's peak. Obama still has what he needs; he'll limp across the finish line.
Love it.
Eskimo nails it. Sad , really sad.
But then, most of them looked like lefties, didn't they.
Because they live in Cowleefownah and are progressive.
Truth is secondary.
Yeah well, I grew up in a neighbourhood with LIBERALs. Their daddies were Liberals and their grand-dads as well.
These were neither Canadian nor Christian....they were implacably LIBERAL. I lable them "fence-post Liberals"....who would vote for a fence post if it had a Liberal tag on it. No knowledge or curiosity of issues or policies.
Early on, I observed this pattern seemed limited to that political bent....except one guy who supported the CCF etc....
Leftism is perhaps a mental disorder....but it really resembles Islam.
Problem is these idiots get to vote!
That is hilarious. And sadly true!
I gather that all the people making these stories up about their viewing of the "debate" were also calling it for Obama. If they are representative at all of the general American public, I think we can safely ignore all polls on the real debate. If you're going to make up a story about an event that did not happen, why would you be truthful when talking about the real event?
Ya think they could find a republican calling it for Romney?
Ya think they wouldn't "balance" their presentation so as to not offend the retarded liberal Statist's PC hair triggers?
100% Democ-rats lying idiots, great video.
....and now you know why the current president has a good chance to win again.
Sucks don'it?
Run-of-the-mill SDA trolls caught on camera.
Romney +6
350 Electoral Votes.
Does everyone on the left live in a total fantasy world? (never mind, I think that video was the answer)
I used to work for Global and Citytv and whenever an election rolled around at any level, we had to go out on the street and do "streeters", in which we ask four or five random people what policy they cared about or who they planned to vote for and why.
It was truly shocking and demoralizing. Those of us in news follow stuff like hawks, so asking people simple questions about their priorities during an election and getting back the lamest, most borderline retarded answers over and over and over and over again made me truly question democracy.
People don't know the issues. People don't care about the issues. They don't know what's going on. They don't see how it effects them. They don't care what happens. They don't even CONSIDER the IDEA of caring about what happens. They don't know who's running in their riding. They don't know the leaders. They don't have any opinions about ANYTHING.
All they know is that they're supposed to vote because that's important.
Whenever I hear about Australian-style voter enforcement laws in which people HAVE to vote by law, I shudder. A low participation rate is our best hope at getting decent representation. Ideally the turnout would be less than 50% everytime.
Some of the public unfortunately have gotten use to living off food stamps rather than find work. And I get the feeling this is the way Obama wants to keep his people at. The more they become dependent on Obama the longer he remains in WH.
Well, well, well.
Ah, yes. The Left.
jeff, you just described one of my sister-in-laws and my daughter-in-law. Sad isn't it.
And then they get a Hitler or Chavez and wonder what happened.
Californicated, never let the reality intrude on a myth.
Jeff, the problem with low participation is, as we saw in Vaughn and Guelph in the last bi-election, and our main cities generally is those like unions and public employees get out their people to vote to keep the gravy train running and we end up with Liberals and the NDP.
Isn't the last step of the decline of democracy public apathy.
Ken, are you sure they would wonder what happened? They probably wouldn't notice the change and wouldn't care either way. There are far too many like that.
The Kardashians are more relavant to them than their freedoms.
This is why Trudeau is a threat, clueless voters.I know a woman who was giving me all the talking points about him,his name power, his youth and good looks,I could go on and on but I want my lunch to remain where it is.
Don't care if the media peckerheads claim that 'bama won, or Romney won.
Any dickhead who would making his voting decision on the results of a debate shouldn't be voting.
H. Ryan:
Nailed it.
What I would love to know is what percentage had no clue?
@dave
True, unions and special interest groups can rally their base to vote, but so too can conservatives. Conservatives tend to have more to lose and are thus, more engaged.
The worst outcome is when every average joe gets caught up in something like Obamamania, or an "Orange Crush" and gets out to vote just because they perceive a special event as happening.
I want the disengaged to either study up/grow up, or stay out completely.
Think CHOOM.

Some good comments on each of your posts.
Yup democracy is definitely flawed because it is "two wolves and a sheep deciding on what’s for dinner", - or - 51% of Egyptians voting for Sharia Law for the other 49%.
Whether a Representative Democracy or a Direct Democracy there are fundamental flaws via corruptible representatives or a stupid populous, which is precisely why fundamental, inalienable individual rights and freedoms are key.
Another key is maintaining the sovereignty and borders separating individual countries, states, provinces, and even counties to allow places to go that accommodate a variety of choices for differing worldviews.
This is also precisely why “open borders” and multiculturalism fails a free and democratic society and helps destroy it in no small measure amongst other things.
I'd also like to know how many people were interviewed to get this confabulatory bunch - perhaps they just got a group of people leaving the Korsakoff's syndrome support group center.
One thing we could do during the election is to set up centers across the country where free beer and weed would be provided. This would attract primarily Obozo supporters and a good fraction of them would forget to vote, or others would be planning on voting but then "just one more joint" would take over and the next thing they'd know is that the voting booths were closed. The ones who would make it to a polling station would statistically be as likely to vote for Romney as Obozo (assuming high grade weed like BC's primary export crop).
A much better plan than running campaign ads on TV and financially supporting the MSM. Such an event would likely result in a Romney win and give a much needed boost to the BC economy.
People dont like to be seen as lazy or stupid. So they lie. Its that simple.
They just do what they did on tests in school fill in the blanks with pasturized BS

I bet it took them about a half hour to get the footage for that.
I bet they filtered out 50% because it wasn't funny enough, not because they were caught out.
It is really shocking. Try it sometime. Just stand on the street with a voice recorder and ask people questions for your "article".
You'll see.
Yet some of these same clueless twits will be rioting Nov.7th if Obama loses because they will have been told that Romney rigged the vote. Can't fix stupid.
Just caught part of today's Kimmel. Today they asked people who they thought won the first lady debate last night. O_o.
Jimmy Kimmel just did this again, only this time they asked: Who do you think won the First Lady Debate last night between Ann Romney and Michelle Obama?. And again, a number of people provided their opinion on this "debate."
Most of them thought Michelle Obama won.
