With Terry Glavin;
For much of the past decade, the earnest and the animated have been adorning the walls of church basements and student union buildings across Canada with Israeli Apartheid banners and Hands Off Iran posters. Meanwhile, after the Khomeinist regime in Tehran crushed an insurrection in 2009, a Tunisian fruit vendor set himself on fire in January 2011 and then Tahrir Square erupted in Cairo in the following weeks. Suddenly, Arab liberals, feminists, students, reformists and revolutionaries were at the vanguard of tumults from the Barbary Coast to Bahrain. They were on their own.In Gaza, they were bullied and beaten by the same Hamas thugs who take only slightly less delight when they notice yet another ship on the horizon carrying Torontonians or Berliners or Parisians intent on making exhibitionist nuisances of themselves with the IDF. As of this week, the death tally in the Syrian abattoir run by Hamas benefactor Bashar Assad is roughly 30,000 (was there a teach-in that I missed?). Nobody even talks about Darfur anymore. Then again, hardly anyone wanted to talk about it while the genocide there was in full force.

Take Iran out of the mix and many problems solved .. They are the "great satan".. Bomb the crap out of them..
The cognitive dissonance that the lefties exhibit everyday just proves to me their brains are in their butts because their heads would explode trying to contain the mental gymnastics they have to put themselves through to believe the things they claim to believe.
Straight up, Israel is the only real democracy in the area that tries to treat all members of their country the same. The people who get treated differently are not actual residents of Israel but people entering their country to work. (some to do harm, but many just to work)
The whole Muslim world is notoriously anti-gay and yet the lefties have no trouble supporting them. Or at least opposing anything that is against them. Makes no sense to me at all.
"...the earnest and the animated...". 'Tis true.
The Axe deodorant, non-grandmother-visiting crowd. The risk averse Robin Hoods of the western world with a nihilistic edge who collect interesting experiences because they just know that they'll be sitting on Jon Stewart's couch someday. All 40 million of them.
Like when the students were marching on the "free Tibet" issue. A reporter asked 10 students in a row to point out where Tibet was on a map he held up to them. You guessed it......not one had a clue. Reminds me of the brainwashed fools always looking for a cause to champion without having a clue beyond what they've been told. No shortage of useful idiots.
Thanks Kate, for linking to Terry Glavin. Nice to see a "right wing" blog linking to a "lefty" like Terry.
Being from BC I have followed Glavin, its great to read a left winger who talks common sense, even if I don't always agree. Its amazing how thinking and caring left and right wingers can agree on so much.
Randy, I regularly read Terry Glavin's blog and have recommended it to friends and family members. He's a rare GOOD journalist.
so how do we re-educate these delusionists and bring them back to reality?
