Cowlleeforwna. . . A self inflicted wound.

That is now man infected wound.

The key metrics in Hanson's piece are these: Obama +24, unemployment 16%, avg. income $16,000. These are people who know what they are voting for. They WANT to sit around eating government cheese. This is the problem when 47% of wage earners pay no income tax. You create a class permanently supporting whichever party brings them more taxpayer benefits.

This is the Swedish disease.

Let California die. Its death will be a lesson to the rest of the union.

When there is an alternative We refuse to buy anything that we knowingly comes from California. Produce , razor blades , software , computers , dog food etc.
We make a point of calling companies that we would like to do business with and let them know that once they exit California to please let us know so that we can buy their product or service.
Quebec companies are now on our hit list since they have elected a separatist government.

Try this out for yourself when your at home alone when your friends are out at the latest Susan Surandon, Timothy Robbins , Sean Penn blockbuster.

BC has a total debt of $51 billion, a deficit of $2.4 billion and $5 (US) gal gas... and about 1/10 the economy of California... and a government as screwed up as California's - Alberta and Ontario aren't any better.

Just sayin'

Mark W, there is more than one jurisdiction that has the inmates running the asylum.

Let's be honest, Ontario is no different.

Phil - You can be polite AND rational? Let's see more of this side of you.

Ontario revised their estimate from $18B to $25B, or as Maxwell Smart (smarter than McGuinty anyway) would say 'Missed it by that much'.

Could be a different Phil. This one is not bad mouthing farmers.

Actually, Ontario (where I live) is much worse. Same basic deficit but with just less than 1/3 the population. At least McGuinty isn't planning a high-speed rail link from Toronto to Cochrane or Moosonee. Yet.

Oops. Just 'more' than 1/3...

The price of gasoline is now about the same in Newfoundland as in California. That is a true miracle. Not a nice one, but a miracle none the less.

Talking to people who declare themselves as nonpolitical I get the impression that we will be seeing a lot more of the NDP in the next six or seven years.
How a failed party, which given the opportunity is corrupt, can be so popular beggars the imagination.
So there will likely be more California miracles in our future.

For me, a 20 year former California resident, this is a sad, painful tale. Bankrupt ruined California, the fruits of neo-liberalism as implemented by the Democratic Party, aided and abetted by the public employees unions and the presstitutes of the California MSM.
