And the American Miniature Schnauzer Club National Specialty
Best of Breed - Am.Can.Ch.Minuteman Goldikova

In addition, a son of Am.Can.Ch.Minuteman Underworld took the dog points, while Venus' little sister Minuteman Spanish Fly won the girl points and Am.Can.Ch.Minuteman Safety Last was first Award of Merit.
While I was busy conquering Schnauzers, my Scottish Terrier Can.Ch.Gyver Lead Me Not was winning the bitch points at the Scottish Terrier Club of America National with her primary owner and fellow road warrior, Karen.
We fully expect that someone down here is calling Homeland Security right now in an attempt to have us added to the "No Cross Border List". Heh. Better get moving...
Update: FYI, Prior to the shows since Kate's been away winning stuff, here were the AKC standings (select Miniature Schnauzer as Breed and hit 'Get Rankings').
I don't know how the two dogs over Goldi did the last couple of weeks, but I think it's fair to say she's tightened the race. It's rare for a bitch to win, or for that matter any dog that isn't campaigned all year. -lance

Well done to Kate and the minutemen!!
You have an awfully big ass.
excellent!. congratulations.
Kitty = obviously jealous.
Kitty is obviously a progressive. Straight to insult.
Well done. Lovely little dogs.
Bitch points, a new phrase for my vocabulary!
Congrats on the results, Kate, and have a safe trip home.
Kitty, what happened to you face?
kitty is a leftie, no substance only fluff, likely knows who katy perry is boinking though no doubt. Where's the cattle and collies though, good job.
Kate (or lance)...being totally ignorant of dog shows...at what age do you stop showing them? You seem to have a whack of winners, but different names.Am I missing something?
Oh. And congrats. Bravo Zulu
Congratulations Kate! Gorgeous dogs.
That is an awfully ugly kitty though.
Hmmmm, wonder what Kitty's last name is...Litter?
Kitty, you should really try to get out more. Been anywhere lately, like it the last 25 years. Your perspective might be the least of your problems.
Nice doggies!
And while I do see some fine booty, I studied the photos intently for the big ass - but only found one in the comments :( which is too bad cuz' I like pics.
It's said best in the greatest song ever: Fat Bottom Girls you make the rockin' world go round...
Brava, Kate! You're going to have to build a special shed for all of your trophies!
Happy Thanksgiving! Go well the road on your way home.
Congratulations Kate and friends.
Congratulations!!
NICE ass, er um, dog.
Justthinkin, Kate I'm sure would tell you that as she breeds these dogs she often has a new batch coming along -- from the same kennel (hers), and often from the same sire (is that what you call a stud dog?) but, obviously, with different names seeing as they're different dogs. "Minuteman" seems to differentiate Kate's dogs from schnauzers from other kennels -- while distinctive names are given to each dog, in the case of the top dog (top photo), Goldikova.
I don't think I've misrepresented what goes on. I have a friend with a kennel who raises and shows a different breed.
Congratulations, Kate. Beautiful dogs.
While I'm just dying to say "I love seeing your Schnauzer, Kate", but I think Kitty litter seemed to have soured the mood of this thread. None the less, congratulations on your wins and achievements. A round of "a-paws" for you. :-)>
Congratulations Kate!
Safe drive home.
To the dogs WHoooos a pretttttyy pupppppyyyyyy
GOOD DOG, WHOOOOS A GOOOOOD DOG!.
YEEESS YOOOU ARE, GOOOD DOG! GOOD DOG!
my dog named "BOO" wants to meet your bitch:-)
congrats and good stuff kate
BTW; great booty:-)))
I wish you nothing but the best Catherine "Kate" McMillan.
I trust you know that "Small Dead Animals" blog is a "Miracle" on this plane of consciousness and that you Kate have created it !!
Is it any wonder that the Miniature Schnauzer breed belongs to you, as well?
Stay well, stay safe!
'Kitty' growls: 'You have an awfully big...'
Rrrwwaaaooooowww. Sounds like projection to me. Or. It's 'Kitty' just being catty. Small diff really.
.
BRAVA, Kate: well done—and your little dogs too!
Actually, what I noticed was Kate’s fine facial bone structure and Palinesque hairdo ;-)
Kitty’s not only catty: maybe she looks like Libby D. No wonder she’d want to pick on “B-B-Beautiful Katie”!
(When we were little, we used to sing this WW I song our grandparents taught us:

A very Happy Thanksgiving to Kate, Lance, all the dogs and everyone here at SDA!
Only a f*cking lefty or savage could say something so stupid.
Congrats, Kate.
Congratulations on the impressive showing of your dogs, Kate.
I generally hate "Me too" posts, but in this case...
Congratulations, Kate. I bet most people don't know how much work, dedication, and love goes into what you and your dogs do.
An idiot smears and Kate leaves the comment up instead of deleting like most other sites would.
Kate's work has always been to shine a light on the malfeasance of the left. Comments like Kitty's are a great way to do it.
Congratulations. You do us proud with all your achievements.
Have a safe drive home. (if you are still on the road)
Thanks batb. I was just wondering do they have year levels...like pup...1 year olds...2 yrs...etc.
You're welcome, Justthinkin! I don't know the answer to your question -- thought I think it's no, they don't have year levels, just different names with different bitches and sires.
Justthinkin, it's confusing. I mean really confusing.
I'm not exactly sure if I have this right, so corrections are welcome.
Each breed starts out with three categories:
Puppy class: up to 6mths, Regular: dogs hunting for championship points, Winners: dogs with championship points
The winners of those show against each other for Best in Breed and Best of Opposite Breed. Opposite just means the best dog in the sex opposite the Best of Breed.
So Best/Breed and Best/Opp/Breed move up to the group contest. Group consists of like dogs AKC define the groups as: Sporting, Hounds, Terriers, Working, Toys, Non-Sporting, Herding.
The winner of those Is Best in Group. They will compete against each of the group winners to determine Best of Show and Reserve Best in Show (2nd).
Anyway, Montgomery is a BIG DEAL during the Breed specialty. So Best of Breed is _the_ best you can do on the Specialty day. Given the prominence of Montgomery for Mini's, what Kate and Goldi won is basically the best Mini in N.America.
Bigger than winning Westminister or Ukanuba.
"No Cross Border List"
I think I see what you did there. Congrats.
Kitty's just jealous because Kate's attractive and Kitty, um, isn't. I mean I don't suppose I've ever seen her, but somehow I just know...
WOW, just WOW!
Thanks, lance, and way to go, Kate, Goldi, and doggies!
She has picked up a few bitch points, though.
Whoops! I see that Goldi's one of the fantastic dogs. So congrats to Karen too and the lovely scottie.
Well done Kate. Very well done.
Well done Goldikova. ... and the other terrifically named winners.
That's a long drive, take care, and thanks to Lance for holding the fort.
Nice achievements Kate with those dogs.
I go to dog shows once in a while at the Colosseum here. Not because I understand them. Its always entertaining to watch the dogs. They look so happy at what they do.
Its one show you never walk away from depressed.
Nice one Kate. Safe travels.
Well I don't know nuthin' about doggies but I have a finely-honed appreciation of beautiful women and clearly, even in profile, Kate's a beauty.
But, with apologies for the cliche about beauty being more than skin deep, even sans pictures you can tell Kate's a beauty like our other sda beauties lookout, batb, Black Mamba, ET, and etc. (I can't list you all!).
lance, you lucky bastid.
That said, I'd lie if denied my bewilderment trying to reconcile our Kate with that film Best in Show (which a dog-breeder once told me was accurate). But obviously it ain't accurate!
Way to go, Kate and dogs! Well done.
MND, you sweetheart!
I'm sure Kate is like no other dog breeder; she doesn't do it out of her neuroses -- does she have any? -- but, I sense, to be one of the best darned breeder of schnauzers she can be. It takes a lot of self-discipline and no-nonsense grit to turn out well-bred dogs.
A lot of parents could/should take note!
Congratulations Kate and belated Thanksgiving best wishes. You did good!
Thanks Lance for the program notes. Feel free to reprint them as required.
(memory recall frequently lapses around here lately)
You two take care.
So, MND, there doesn't seem to be a Stan Rogers Tribute at Hugh's Room this year, but on November 20, a Tuesday, Stan's son, Nathan, is "singing Stan Rogers." If you're in town on business -- I know it's a long way from BC! -- a few SDA regulars could join you there!
http://hughsroom.com/category/events/page/5/
It's a thought ... I remember you said you love Stan Rogers.
MND, thanks on this Thanksgiving day for your kind words! (And, yes, you're beautiful too!)
G, I'll get Kate to write a proper 'Guide to Dog Shows' when she gets back. Like I said, it's confusing and I over-simplified it.
An excellent reference, here.
Could kitty be Snoop Dogg in drag?
