Ontario's Dedicated Public Servants

The Ontario Liberals aren't necessarily the most competent of public officials but they are really good at one thing: Wasting taxpayers' money ... endlessly.

Energy Minister Chris Bentley will now be heading to a Legislative committee on contempt charges where he could face jail time if found guilty.

The Liberals have always been thieving liars. Their only credit is that the NDP would be far worse if given the power.

There needs to be real accountability for ALL “public servants” from the RCMP to the Prime Minister’s office if a society cares to keep a free and open democracy in place. Corruption and tyranny will always creep into any institutional power structure if left unchecked.

Covering up for Dulton's economic fiasco Greenie energy fandango.

I say there aren't enough politicians in jail across this country. And they should at least be thankful they have been able to screw the public for so long without consequences greater than being voted out.

FINISH HIM!

Time for a reminder of just what the Liberal-Left has been up to for the last 20 years...

Maurice Strong said at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit...

"Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse?
Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?"

"A few of my professional nuclear colleagues attended the Rio Conference and were there when Strong made this outrageous statement.

Sadly, it was met with thundering applause from the crowd,"
--Dr. Mike Fox...

McGuinty is a good little soldier ...doing exactly as his masters command...

Western societies collapse is NOW imminent!

The contempt proceeding will tell us a lot. If Bentley gets off, it will be because of a behind the scenes deal between the Libs and the Dippers. They've already partnered up to pass the provincial budget. The question now is what will the Dippers demand as the price for letting Bentley off the hook.

Make no mistake, there's some serious loathing within the OPA for the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Premier's Office. OPA was notified only a couple of days prior to the cancellation. And now the government is trying to pin the blame for lack of documents on the OPA. The OPA already despised the government for cancelling its long term supply plan (thankyou Sh!tty Smitty and the Green Energy Act). Now they're being set up as the fall guys for a nasty piece of election maneuvering.

Trust me, this is one provincial agency where the Premier's name is lower than dirt, not to mention his scrofulus Minister.

if we start putting politicians and public servants in jail for PI$$ing away tax dollars, we'd better get started building more jails

There is quite a stench around these natural gas turbine power plants given that
they are just about the most innocuous method of producing power that there is.
Add to that the fact they are needed precisely on the selected sites chosen to
provide nearby power for the GTA while at the same time minimizing the need for
long haul power wasting transmission lines which face labourious legal fights with
NIMBY's plus greenie clown movements busy trying to wreck the economy.
.

Liberals are liars, thieves and money-wasters? No surprise. That there are people who would still vote them in? Lamentable.

Jail? Never. Not in this province.

Dildo and his rats are like rock stars. Three terms! This population just can't get enough of them.

Fundamental premise is the Liberals & NDP hate Ontario Hydro.

All our debt issues come back to Rae & Peterson in their unholy alliance in 1985+. They put Darlington on hold which quadrupled the debt on that plant -- the delay played havoc on repair schedules for Bruce & Pickering which caused extensive damage to their reactors which increased our debt again.

I remember confronting Rae on this as he was our mpp in 1985 and he freaked. I told him a moratorium on Darlington would hammer the tax payer and he laughed at me. Arrogant SOB.

In the end Bruce was so badly damaged they sold it off. Trans Canada Pipelines bought in and repaired the plant.

Chaos in Ontario Hydro (aka OPG) was caused by Liberals & NDP when they were in power.

The whole insanity of solar, wind & gas power was caused by the liberals. You know the person who got the greatest number of wind power sites is now the head of the Liberal Party of Canada -- nice to know patronage and the trough works well even under provincial governments.

we will not even touch how inefficient wind and solar power generation is. Needless to say they were paid big bucks in excess to their worth for the power they generated.

To add insult to injury it appears $200 Million is owed for canceling the Mississauga plant and over $700 million for the Oakville plant cancellation -- sorry but the Liberal Party of Ontario is not responsible for that despite the decision made during an election and they were the governing party -- you and I are liable for those expenses.

I do not know you but I am peeved.

It seems no matter how crooked a politician is...he never gets the chance of the option doing big time....like do you want to be the Papa or the Mama......thats the biggist problem this type of criminals; they never go to jail....just normal criminals do for the same crime...///

William in Ajax, exactly and well said.

Knight 99, you are right about the Liberals being thieving liars. Twas so with the last federal Liberal government, and is right now, with the former Quebec Liberal government.

A standard op procedure for klepto socialist juntas which have been caught openly looting the public, is to scapegoat one of its commissars for the crimes of "dear leader", is to hold a rgged trial, let him off wih a warning and a demotion, then pay him off to shuffle quietly off to a palm beach retirement.

This is done because a kleptoocratic regime never allows any one into its inner circle but those who's corruption is known to everyone in the inner circle. This way they avoid "unforseen outbreaks of tattling" if one junta commissarr is pinched in a criminal trial.

Works like a charm, just ask any banana republic grafter, or Dalton.

I would love to see the minister go down over this. He probably will get booted from cabinet as a concession to the opposition but I doubt he will see jail time. Too much risk for any politician. Any one of them could be next.

Kind of reminds one of the impeachment of Clinton. The house voted to impeach but the senate gave him a pass. He should of gone down (no pun intended) but didn't.

Gerry, a minor correction to an otherwise excellent post. The cancellation of the two plants formally costs $230 million, $190 for Mississauga which was actually under construction and $40 million for Oakville because of contract cancellation provisions. However, given that this is funded by provincial debt, and given that the province's current interest rate is 2.8%, the actual cost when the debt is amortized will be nearly $1 billion.

About Bruce, the good news is that today for the first time since 1994, all eight Bruce reactors are operating at full capacity. They were brought back by PRIVATE capital investment.

Remember this one well, folks. A private company funded by private capital revived the world's second largest nuclear power station that the Liberals and NDP ruined.

It's also worth remembering today that we would right now have new nuclear reactors under construction if McGuinty's Liberals had not insisted that Darlington and not Bruce would be the site of new nuclear power plants in Ontario.

No politician in this country will ever do jail time for whatever corruption they might have been up to while in office. The first time it happens it would start a cascade beyond their control as the public would demand that more of the thieving, lying sacks of sh*t be held accountable. They will never let this happen.

What can you possibly say to a people and a Province who had it all, and then pissed it away? A province run by teachers and unions and a city that is infested with socialists. You get what you deserve and you are reaping what was sown.

...and a private sector that obligingly bends over and asks for more.

I mean, you know you are well and truly screwed when a pub owner - who entirely depends on folks' disposable income - tells you that the HST would be a good thing for his business.

Bentley and Bryant should be sharing public accomodations.

Jamie your more right than you know, just last week an ex labor board safety (old school)inspector told me companies are winding up in court over not having given written instructions to grown men instructing them how to use a six foot step ladder.

It's progressively getting worse, and it's sickening watching men who have built or taken over multimillion dollar companies, actually sit through safety meetings and not call BS when it's warranted.

I can't wait till the guys hear about the College Of Trades it's only popped into the news a few months ago, but they are talking of wanting up too 200.00 a year from some tradesman, and 600.00 from their employers (I think the amounts are still being discussed). It reeks of a money grab.

No one really knows how bad this province is financially but I'll guess Ontario has never been as close to hitting bottom in so many ways then it is now.

The Mob is less corrupt and dishonest then Dolton Mcshifty and his merry gang of thieves. Ontario did not elect him. Certain parts of Ottawa (silly servants)Teachers and toronto the bad elected that gang to keep their own pockets lined at the cost to the sheeple

Yeah well, I'm still not amused by this weed patch here that used to be a lawn.

Like WTF....24D being harmful is like 3rd hand smoke......

Just for $hits and giggles I made a point of spraying my lawn with water. I noted a fella on a bicycle using his cell phone...then had an official vehicle arrive.

He had stuff to test etc....and then accused me of mischief....that my efforts were not irrigation....my response was greening up the lawn by washing the dust off.

I figure do that a few more times and they will stop coming....hee hee....bring on the KILLEX.

Unfortunately Jack Layton made a mockery of the phrase Contempt of Parliament.
