Just imagine how much worse it would be if Americans hadn't elected a man who slowed the rise of the oceans. This election is shaping up to be a bong show.

If they tell you to get out.

GET OUT.

We lived through a category 3 hurricane,
next time my ass will flee,
with me attached to it.

Bastardi is an eco-cult,cAGW whore. There have been far worse hurricanes that have hit the US.This is what happens when you push basket weaving and foreign lesbian studies in "higher educamation".The worst that will happen is that maybe the East river will be cleaned up some.

Good, and hoping you be correct.

Statue of Liberty is rocking,
so don't bother knocking.

As an aside, what's the point of having a Statue of Liberty live cam or a New York skyline cam, if it takes 20 minutes (and counting) to load?

Those, I can imagine, the government DID build...

You must be thinking of a different Bastardi.

This is a real and significant storm. Its not the intensity itself, its the hurricane threshold strength over an extremely wide area. It has gained strength this morning as a solid Cat 1 as it transitions to a post-tropical cyclone. In area, its one of the largest recorded, and its hurricane strength wind field is huge- 175 mi radius from barometric centre and tropical force winds out more than 500 miles. Here in south Ont we're bracing for sustained winds of 50-60kph with gusts to 100 tonight, and it hasn't even crossed the coast yet. The wind forecast is >30-40kph for the next 4 days... Rain won't be as big a deal as first thought, but wind might well be. If it blows out when it crosses the coast, great, but if it doesn't. Ontario is in for a ride.

The race has been on since late last week to beat Sandy and get the corn and beans off here in Eastern Ontario. Rain soaked wet ground and prolonged high winds have been known to topple the corn stalks and leave fields in ruin...
Anyone that thinks a late season hurricane this far north is nothing to worry about should google "Hurricane Hazel".
Also of note are the 12 nuclear plants that are in Sandy's project path on the U.S. side.
Beware and stay safe!

All I know fo sure about Joe Bastardi is that when that guy speaks about weather forecasts even the grain future markets react and listen.

me, I'm not run cover

storm is Allah get George Bushians

ok?

Joe Bastardi is not a AGW whore; you must have him confused with another person.

I think he's got him confused with Joe Rohm

In other news, the New York Stock Exchange is closed today. The Manhattan offices of all the major banks are also closed, with staff ordered to work from home, because nobody can guarantee the safety of anybody daft enough to be walking around Manhattan.

I also hear reports that bad weather in 2000 was partly responsible for tipping the electoral scale away from Al Gore.

If that's true, then it's just possible the Lord is killing two birds with one stone---helping good men push Obama aside and giving the banksters the biggest fright they've gotten from Him since He turned their tables outside the Temple.

Of course, I have no proof of this---and it's true that not every rainy day is the Lord sending us a message, as opposed to simply taking care of us by seeing that the crops grow. Stranger things have happened, though.

Give thanks to Him, for He is good.

(No, of course not---if He was willling to spare Sodom for the sake of ten pious men, I doubt the Lord's planning on wiping anything off the map today. I don't doubt those nuclear plants, say, were built to withstand worse.

That said---for heaven's sake, if you're reading this in Sandy's path, don't put the Lord to the test. Take shelter as best you can and pray for His mercy.)

(Also, if you know the names of New York's ten righteous men, report them to the proper authorities so they get first priority for rescue in case of need. New York needs them all.)

I think "the one" is flying to NY and will stand in Battery Park and calm the seas.

I hope he does it soon , Im heading there on nov 8, though I question my wisdom so soon after the election

Don be messin' wit, dat storm in Nu yawk - we's all safe in Cleavlan wit da 'Bamaphones workin'.

The weather is just fine out here on the Flemish Cap on the Andrea Gail.

George, Your ice maker just broke.

A sure to be toppled Statue of Liberty?

Now, that would be the MOTHER of all METAPHORS wouldn't it?
But so would its survival!

Wonder how good the blade brakes are on all the bird shredders in Ontario?

Not to worry.....Mayor Nagin is sending school busses.

Wonder how good the blade brakes are on all the bird shredders in Ontario?

Or the 900 plastic ties holding each solar panel together in the solar parks.

Paging Premier Dad....

Justthinkin:

I hope you don't mind (but even if you do), I'm going to steal the "foreign lesbian studies" bit.

Awesome.

I'm just hoping all the banksta mansions in the Hamptons are suddenly on the wrong side of the water - and that their insurance policies aren't honoured.

So when all da lootin' be co-mmencin'?

A piece of ironic trivia:

The name "Sandy" is a derivative of Alexander and means: Defender of Man

I hope the "youth" don't loot the "rich folks" homes and stores.

a loot'n we will go, a loot'n we will go, hi ho the merry yo, a loot'n we will goooooo. Yo
