About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I have read over at hillbuzz.org that Obama seems to be tired of being President - it is hard work and it is effectively a job for 24 hours/7 days a week. Hillbuzz suggests that he would like to retire to that fabulous estate in Hawaii which Penny Pritzker is trying to buy for him. If this is so, it would be a great thing for our American cousins.
That's excellent.

Great commercial, should have also included the footage of Mrs.Os stare at Romney as shewn on the top of Drudge Report this evening. Talk about "if looks could kill."
If he were smart, which he's not, a year ago he could have simply said that he chooses not to run.
He's set for life.
Courtside seats at any NBA game.
Endless golf away from Michelle.
A life surrounded by coke dealers and hip hoppers, instead of whining Israelis.
If he wins, it's 4 more years of having to get up in the morning, having to shower, and put on a tie.
His heart is not in this.
Looks like O'Bummer has been exposed as a community organizer... Oh!
And Mrs. O's body language with Barack wasn't very impressive either. She knows she's got a dud, and has hinted so on a few occasions,
All well and good; but the Americans have much to learn even now, and will need another four years of tutoring by Obama and his "grisly gang" to drill it into them.
Or perhaps only a few months, the way things are going. Obama if he wins may be the most detested person in the US a year from now.
When you boil it right down, last night Romney destroyed hundreds of millions of dollars in negative ads put out by the Democrats. All gone *poof* in a puff of smoke. :D
I'll be in New Orleans during the election, since I'll have been there three days I believe that means I can vote and it won't be for bummer.
One of the biggest laughs of the night was when Romney told Lehrer that he would end the subsidies to PBS and Lehrer recoiled like a vampire threatened with a cross. Can you imagine someone up here with the stones to say that to the CBC, LOL?
The other thing that made me laugh out loud was when Obama kept insisting that Romney would raise taxes by $5 trillion. Romney kept saying that Obama was wrong and told him to stop repeating that. Obama wouldn’t, so Romney had to finally tell him that just because he keeps saying something doesn’t make it true.....and then Romney said, "you know, I raised five boys and they'd often keep saying something until they thought I’d believe it and it never worked". Obama put his head down after that and didn’t try that $5 trillion thing again.
This was probably the most epic destruction that I've ever seen one politican inflict upon an other. Romney couldn't have damaged Obama more if he had set doused him with petrol and set him on fire. Political pundits will be talking about this debate for YEARS.
The whole debate reminded me of the movie The Harder They Fall. Up until the debate obama actually thought he was really really smart. You could watch reality slowly sinking in as the debate went on.
This picture nails it:

It wasn't just the substance of the take down although that was awesome too but Romney did it in a very respectable and concise way. He explained a very complicated plan in a very simple understandable way and countered all of the garbage Obama rhetoric. It's too bad there wasn't a real zinger like Layton's missive about Iggy's attendance record. That was gold.
What I noticed, was Romney taking notes, on just about everything O"Dummy said. It showed his grasp of all that was said, and doesn't bode well for Mouchelle's hubby in the upcoming debates. Romney obviously knows all the arguments inside and out.
James wrote at 9:36 "It's too bad there wasn't a real zinger like Layton's missive about Iggy's attendance record."
Wait for it. It will come when they debate foreign policy. Obama has missed 60% of his morning security briefings. That one is going to smack him in the face.
The lasting impression I have is the expression on Michelle's face at the end when she suddenly realizes that she's got the wrong horse in this race. The prospect of 20 more years with this loser must really be unbearable.
Tough s**t!!
I thought he could do it, and he did it.
I am very hopeful that things will now start to change for the better.
Romney was poised, on-the-ball and affable. Yes, affable. Even if he was wooden, he would still be right- Obama has been a terrible president and the world cannot afford him any longer.
Yes, MKelley, that was a funny picture.
Michael, it was right up there with, "You may get your own plane and you may get your own house, but you don't get your own facts."
As for Jim Lehrer, PBS is getting just what it deserves. Despite its federal funding, it's been remorselessly partisan for the left. Payback's a b!tch.
Mitt's lucky his face was not bitten off like that poor lady in wherever it was by the chimp. The facial muscle flexing was a tell if I've ever seen one. If this is the best the left can sucker people into voting for, through the Oprah's and Sam Jackoffersons along with 2 bit actresses and actors who are to stupid to run their own businesses without an agent. Thanks Hollywood, you are truly self loathers, when you will back a man that will shut your business down if given a second chance, unless you love tyranny and communism?

It was a hard night for a wife's 20th and I'm willing to bet any hardness had.... 'self snip'
Re. Michelle: I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Barack was confronted by his wife after she'd viewed that 2007 video, thanks to Drudge and Hannity. No wonder Obama came off as having been run over by a Mack truck last night.
Excellent vid. We can't afford four more years like the last four years is a perfect summary point on the economy.
Dystopian Optimist, don't forgot Obama's budding career as a Vegas lounge crooner.
Don't forget that this is the modern era. Michelle can publicly declare that she's shocked, shocked!, to find out that her black husband is 1/2 white. Good enough grounds for divorce, and possibly a better springboard than staying loyal to the serial-adulterer-in-chief.

"government thinking it can do a better job than free people pursuing their dreams"
Freedom is always right and coercion is always wrong. But the problem didn't start in 2008. It was well under way even by 1908.
"I will help create 12 milion new jobs"
Hopefully by getting government out of the way, not by more coercive, interventionist programs.
Obama looked weak when he tried to explain his numbers and ideology while Romney calmly defended his program in easily understandable language. Obama OTOH was confusing.
Romney mopped the floor with Obama because he had to. I believe he decided he was the only person who could stop the Dems/Obama so he went ahead and did it; because there was no other choice. He completely surprised Obama who admitted he met a Romney he didn't know (IOW he called him a liar) and wound up looking petty.
Now the Dems are the ones who have to watch their gaffes with Reid and Pelosi on the loose. And Biden (sorry I like to call him Pa Kettle) has to somehow survive his go with Paul Ryan. I can hear it now "y'all shouldn't be putting them there in chains, y'all. Yeah, Ryan will have a hard time with that one. Then he can say BTW government is part of us and hasn`t built sweet **** without taxes from us, but maybe we won`t want our first debate fatality.
It doesn`t get much better on foreign policy, though the Dems will try to nail him on immigration. The problem is on this and other issues is the Dems are left of American political culture, so they lose resonance, and it`s finally showing. So unless Martin Luther King shows up, Obama`s got a hard sell.
And it never looks good when the Sec of State says the security you have is just fine, except that the ambassador just got assasinated. Yes it`s true Obama has given foreign debate a lot of thought, when he`s not judging the slope of the green on the 11th. So, he`ll be fine in the debate. Not.
But then again the Cdn MSM begs to differ. CTV opined there were no debate zingers (you didn`t build that Mr Romney. I know Warren Buffet and you`re no Warren Buffet) so no big deal. Yeah we lost the game 7-3, no big deal. The G&M offered that, well shucks, Americans like Obama`s foreign policy, being so interested in it and everything. Something tells me that`s not the case. Nice try by the Cdn appartchiks though.
Best comment made after the debate, was from Ann Coulter, she said after it was done, the Mooch wanted to go home with Mitt.
$1 billion in union dues for every million workers in the health care industry that can be unionized under Obamacare. Whatever savings Obama was talking about would be lost to union bosses who I am sure would fund the Demos well into the future.
