"These numbers are so suspect, even MSNBC can't swallow them." - YouTube user, HoundOfDoom
Via Breitbart, we learn that CNBC and ABC are a little confused about the US Jobs report today. Add, FNC. Ed Morrissey helps explain things.
Now, I hope that the current gov't had nothing to do with these weird numbers. If the idea gains hold that gov't economic statistical data can be manipulated for purely partisan reason, well, heads will roll. Lots of lawyers will be called.

The math isn't really that difficult. The US economy needs to gain at least 150,000 jobs each month, all other things being equal (ceretis paribus) just to keep pace with population growth.
Translation: The US continues to bleed jobs. My favourite spin is the jobless rate is it's the "lowest" in 3 years. Again, how long has Obama been POTUS?

"Now, I hope that the current gov't had nothing to do with these weird numbers."
I interpret that, that you disprove this manipulation but can't quite believe it....otherwise....
You will live in hope but die of despair.....
From what I saw on Fox,they figure that they started asking people if anybody was employed at their home, and counted PART TIME as FULL TIME.
OH And lance.Should not that be "Q" OTW?
Heh. Just caught that.
The UN-Civil servants will be fired & the Agencies closed.. This is what happens when slease runs ramport in the WH....Hopeless,Worthless, Brain dead Folks.
The good news is that the Republicans, that are now unemployed, will now have shovel ready jobs
throughout Government....
CNBC had Congressman Allan West from Florida on at 1:00pm today. Here's the clip:
http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000120632&play=1
West interview starts at about 3:00. After asking West a question the newsgeek just goes OFF on him, West smacks him down twice in this interview.
You will like it! :)
(ed: fixed the link...and you're right, it was good.)
Rush asked this question today, for these unemployment numbers to be true, would take an increase in GDP of about 5%
Which is suspect. It seems that all the figures need to be fudged, not just one.
Liars.
Every month, I hear of the job gains. And every month, last month's job gains are adjusted lower. Always lower.
No. They're not just making it up.

The Phantom, re: Congressman Allen West, "You have a great day"
hahaha.. No doubt he is on our side.
"Outliers happen. It's the trend that's important."
So, in Canada, we have a good month for jobs and the unemployment rate increases as people get out and pound the pavement trying to get these jobs. Media story? Don't worry about the unemployment rate; economy's moving the right way.
But in America, they have a 'meh' month for jobs and the unemployment rate drops as people continue to give up looking. Media story? See, the president's plan is working.
873,000 new jobs?
Somebody spilled their coffee or diet coke on their keyboard and one of the number keys is sticking.
If there is a true increase in jobs, it is because of those States that have taken steps to encourage growth and discourage labor unrest. Wisconsin is a prime example.
Check out those States that have improved and check out which ones have Republicans at the helm.
Chris, in Canada we had 52,000 new jobs. We're 1/10 the population of the US... and they created 80,000 part time jobs and 30,000 full time. Media's conclusion : Obama's plan is working????? Wiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.
Going back to Wonderful Wednesday, the enormity of the victory od Romney is still only sinking in. I do not see how Obama can recoup.
Anyone see Axelrod on TV giving the liberal media their marching orders?
No consequences for fudging numbers, no apologies. And nothing can be done about that. That's what really bites.
What a 'shouty' little fellow yelling in Congressman West's ear. He's like those annoying yappy little dogs that are really loud because they're overcompensating for some short coming.
Didn't Palin suggest to Hannity the other night that the boys from Chicago were going to be heard from?
I sing the election blues every time in Vanier, but there is always hope for a change.

Here's to the Big Owe appreciating this song.
When in doubt, follow the stock market. These statistics had little effect on it today.
James, all I'm suggesting is that the US numbers and the conclusions the lefty media drew, were stinky.
We had good numbers but higher unemployment and all the econ punditry said ignore that, it's good growth.
The US had bad numbers but lower unemployment and all their lefty punditry said, see more people have jobs, yay!
If the US numbers were as good as the Democrats hope, shouldn't their unemployment rate jump as more people go looking and the U6 number change as the labour force grows?
That's WTF
The Breitbart article states a decrease of .03%. Obviously a typo, however, it's closer to being believable. .3% is a huge number and it isn't accurate.
These numbers figure if you use global warming math.
Ha ha chris I think we're both in agreement here!
There's an old saying that figures don't lie but liars sure figure.
When I heard the 7.8% rate with the dismal job creation numbers I called BS. Nice to see some of the liberal media agrees with my diagnosis.
So, pray tell, what is this major growth industry where Americans are suddenly finding work a month before the election?
Recycling cigarette ends?
Turning stones into bread?
Filling in fake absentee ballots for Barack Obama under fifteen or twenty assumed names for a bottle or rock a ballot?
(I could just about believe the last one, though the pay per piece is just a guess. It'll be a long while before we find out just how much Alberta's mosques got from the Tories for their services.)
Personally I think the story here is how many people think this data is rubbish, special ordered to make Barry look like a winner. That's really double-plus ungood.
Morrisey says :
"And if the BLS wanted to cook the numbers, I’m pretty sure they’d have cooked the establishment survey, too, to show more than +114K"
So, what number did they use to calculate the 7.8% unemployment rate - coincidentally the number that they needed to validate their morning talking points ("Unemployment has been lowered to where it was when Obama took office - eleventy! eleventy!).
At 8:30 this morning I was presented with three numbers: ~ 114,00 new jobs were created last month, 7.8% unemployment, and the labor participation rate went up slightly. The first and the third stats imply a higher unemployment rate, but magically we got what the administration needed - gosh, is that luck or what!
Incidentally, U(6) stayed the same - isn't that odd?
From the CNBC clip, I've gleaned the essential skills required to be a leftish interviewer.
To start, stick your fingers (at least two from each hand)into one's arse. REAL DEEP.
Remember the pain means this is professional urnalism.
Then put the pair(2 minimum) into each ear(2). DEEP.
When all you hear is your own air whistling through one's snout, you are ready.
Happy trails!
Ever wonder why the unemployment numbers are so low and are revised upwards the following month? That's because the US Department of Labor is a private Corporation and as such is supporting the Wall Street man.
http://www.manta.com/c/mmcmlj6/united-states-department-of-labor
That's right. Just as our Liberal party bragged that it was the party of Main Street it is funded by Bay Street, the Democrats in the US claim they are the party of Main Street but financed by wall street and Big Unions.
Soon they will waddle out Oprah for the stumping and shilling she did she did for this empty suit 4 years ago. Only this time, she might just break into song. Since her "O" network tanked, and the scam globull warming has been exposed to the dullards in the Tass/Pravda media, the Oprah's and Gores have been mostly silent. Expect much more scaring in the few weeks to go, remember the healing of the planet and stopping the rise of the oceans, these charlatans and liars (democrats and media) are not done this current attempt at bolshevism of America, without a cornered rat outburst.
Now the Dem argument is they turned things around, just in time for the election, so don't turn back to the Bush days (of lower budget deficits and unemployment) now after all this suffering.
Well, OK and does this mean we don't have to off Big Bird?
As CNN pointed out there are more meaningful stats to look at than raw unemployment rates. Americans has more unemployed now, for longer durations than in recent memory and those who have found jobs have been younger/underemployed workers with part time &/or low paying jobs.
You can't create 40,000 less jobs than required by population growth alone and lower unemployment rates by almost 3.7%.
It simply doesn't make sense and is inconsistent with other measurements, so thus is a strong case for an outlier (error) report.
Is Obama seriously going to tell Romney his policies will stop the just-begun recovery? Big government will win the day just in time and tax cuts will cause tax increases? The Dems made a serious strategic error in allowing Obama to get into a numbers debate with Romney.
WRT the Town Hall Meeting. If we get a truly independent/undecided group asking questions then Romney can prevail quite nicely, but this is Obama's chance to redeem himself in a better setting. If Gallup slants the audience, watch for the master pontificator to do his thing, slinging socialist b**sh*t that is.
This election has turned into a baseball game and we're at the 7th inning stretch.
