MN hasn't gone for a presidential Republican in decades.
As of Friday, the Obama campaign had placed a $511,000 television ad buy on broadcast stations in Minneapolis for twelve days — Oct. 27 through Nov. 6 — according to a source tracking spending on the airwaves.
Read into this what you will, but if I were to put it in IT parlance, someone has cracked the firewall.

I enjoy playing strategic games, think Civilization or the Total War series.Nothing feels worse than spending a pile of time building up your civilization and then being attacked on multiple fronts. You know you're going to lose a lot of ground and if you're playing against a human, that's usually it for the game.
Romney may have a shot in MN, but if not, he just opened up another front that will tie up Democratic resources.

This is definitely not a bad sign for Romney's chances in Minnesota, but it may have more to do with Wisconsin. Someone who lives there pointed out (on Althouse, I think) that the western part of Wisconsin - the part that watched Minneapolis/St. Paul TV - has a disproportionate number of swing voters that Romney and Ryan should be appealing to. Looks like they're doing just that.
Even those square headed Swedes and Norwegians have had enough of socialism looks like, and they just love it in Europe. Like Maggie said.
Anything that stretches the Obama campaign's resources is a good thing, especially considering their cash-on-hand disadvantage.
That should read "Minneapolis/St Paul hasn't gone for a Republican in a long time." The whole rest of the state except the Indian reservations is solid Republican, has been since Regan pretty much.
How obama left the Benghazi staff high and dry with the stand down order needs to be promoted by Romney and the super pacs. They also need to question his democratic supporters if this is how they would treat their home boys?
Minnesota is not in play, but neighboring Wisconsin, whose western residents receive TV broadcasts from the Twin Cities, is in play.
There have been reports of Somali immigrants being bussed to advance polls in Ohio, since the Twin Cities also have a large Somali community, I expect the same is happening there. MN is one of the states with weak voter ID verification procedures, so I expect many non citizens will be casting votes for Obama.
