About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

GOOD!!!
The USA is way under-taxed hence the debt.
This is just the beginning: tax the rich, there are over 10 millions millionaires in the USA. Unlike Quebec who have a very small number of rich people, if Obama taxes the rich, it will make a huge difference in the USA. It will raise billions and billions.
Boy, are some ever deluded.
Lenin tried that.
I've been in the U.S. for several weeks. Many Americans have asked me about my experiences with Canadian Healthcare. They have NO IDEA what's in store with them with Obamacare - including the inefficiencies and endless graft of a system where no one is accountable.
QNS, these taxes aren't to reduce the debt. They're to pay for Obamacare...and according to the CBO, they fail at that.
Taxing the rich won't receipt 'billions and billions' for the US and whatever is captured is moot on trillion dollar deficits.
You've been here this long and still don't read the articles linked? I understand that reading is tough in grade five, but give it a shot. You might surprise yourself.
Americans are about to reap the whirlwind. Oh Boy!
QueNDPequiste would have a more sound and more convincing argument about that province's socialist perfection if it was clearly a self funded enterprise... but it isn't. Is it?
I thought the new 3.8% tax on house sales would have made the top 5 list. It's on page... oh I don't know. It's in Obamacare. Just pass it, then you can read it.
more gum in the gears of commerce.
Quebecois:
Is the new Gov't of Quebec planning on raising provincial taxes?
Is there any talk of copying Mr. Hollande's plan of a 75% tax on the wealthy?
This sounds like a good idea to me.
"Unlike Quebec who have a very small number of rich people"
Is the correct response:
a) Ever wonder why?
or
b) That supposed to be a good thing?
If Americans are dumb enough to re-elect Obama, I would imagine the nations he's waging war against will then make some decisions with regard to their reserve and trade currencies. The financial war that Obama has visited upon the world will probably make all these numbers irrelevant because it will take a while to establish a real value for the US dollar after everyone bails out. But the staggering incompetence of the Obama Administration may be exceeded by the combination of the Europeans and Chinese, so it's anyone's guess, might as well ask a goat or Paul Krugman.
Did you happen to notice that QNDP said nothing about the quality of care or life enhancements that these taxes may or may not bring. Nope. His primary concern was tax "fairness".
So much for compassionate progressives
What the heck are you all talking about? It's healthcare ala Canuck/Cuba/North Korea style. So it's free!! Get with the program, comrades! It's for the kiddies.
Someone tell this delusional Franco-commie who keeps verbally mastubating in the comments here, that the reason their are so few "rich people" in Quebec, or any similar socialist kleptocractic backwater, is because they fled the pillaging parasites (along with with their investments and productive venture capital, collapsing the economy) for more ethically reputable laiesez faire jurisdictions. 100 years of failed systems in the great Marxist economic experiments escapes his narrow optics. Pathetic actually.
Kate I know you let this commie in here so his intellectually suicidal rants self-incriminate the genetic ignorance of leftoid conventional wisdom (there;s an oxymoron), but ferkrissakes, it gets irritating reading such infantile perspectives on economics and th workings of the world in general. I think it lowers the bar at SDA. Same for the foamy mouthed jihadis who come on here and suicide their intellect in public.
Quebecois NDP separatiste.
Do us all a favor and just STFU on topics you have no clue about. Your constant diarrhea of noise and nonsense make everything you type irrelevant anyway. Why make yourself look more ignorant than you already are?
Oh wait, I think your mommy is calling you to lunch. Better get up those basement stairs quick before she paddles your ignorant little a$$.
ndp seperatiste - 56billion to be exact based on the proposed tax increases for those making over $250K (not the "millionaires"). 56 billion dollars - with a deficit of 1.3 trillion. Ya, that'll solve all the problems. We don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem. We could take every one of your "millionaires" at 100% and we wouldn't make up the shortfall. Would you be happy then?
