NASA has been scrambling for some way to stay relevant to this administration since Obama cut funding and it appears that they have sold their collective souls to the climate change swindlers.

Everything is mutable in the service of the state. If our betters decide the past must change, DOWN THE MEMORY HOLE!

Stephen Goddard has been talking about this for a long time. Every time the narrative starts to fail they adjust the historical temperatures down. He has an interactive graph on his site that shows the slope changes for raw vs adjusted data, and how the delta changes over the years.

Well, a great deal of C-AGW science is based on simulations and model runs not reality. In many ways climate science is a grown-up version of computer strategy games like Civilization and Age of Empires: as long as you save your game frequently you can reload to a previous point and get a better outcome - you never lose. Todays climate scientists can fiddle with past data when their ideal outcome does not match real observations- they can never lose either.

It is interesting that their fiddling allowed the 2002-2012 temp record keep its decline but I am sure that can be fixed up in a future reload.

Of course, there could be good reasons to change data without notice or explanation. It seems odd to me since we were taught that when doing experiments you can cross out results but they must remain visible. Using white out was not permitted, to avoid the appearance/temptation of using fudged numbers. But, hey, these guys have such stellar records of openness and honesty that I guess they don't need to bolster their credibility.

That's what you get with agenda driven tinkering.

BTW, any reports from Suzuki on the status of Santa's North Pole domain? Are the elves building an arc to save Christmas for all the good little girls and boys?

Climate "science" at NASA is run out of the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) which just happens to be in Senator Barbara Mikulski's state, and which also was home to James Hansen for many years. Mikulski has a significant amount of power in the Senate and is NOT afraid to use it to insure funding for GSFC. Hansen is the idol of many at that Center. Not that a change in the Senate will make any difference, for there is no shortage of donkeys-in-elephant-suits who will be GLAD to continue with things as they are.

Someome general info for any lurking alarmist freaks: it was so cold in Whitehorse, Yukon that we wore coats all year until Aug - it was above 20 C three days prior to Aug/12. The temp never was above 25 C all year. We had four or five days in Aug. above 20.

Nothing much grew here: plants, flowers, gardens, trees..

I should add that elsewhere in the Yukon: Dawson City (500 miles North), Watson Lake (300 miles South) and areas within a hundred mile radius of Whitehorse were all warm and sunny all summer. We went to Dawson City or Mayo to get a tan!

Interesting, to me, is the fact that Whitehorse is on the flight path of Alaska bound planes and they have a HARRP ('air controlled climate change' via metal dropped from jets into the ozone layer) program underway to cool off the earth and 'save the glaciers'!! Alaska had a miserable summer too.

This is complete dishonesty. I don't understand why the Goddard centre, named after a great man, isn't disbanded and its inmates thrown in jail.

Yea, I noticed down heya in the south the weather channel will say low-78F high-98F and it never reaches 98F, but the website doesn't change.
