If it is, sending a queer ambassador to a violent homophobic country wasn't Obama's swiftest move.

Good. That sign was not an instance of free speech, which must be open to debate, but an act advocating violence against someone else. In Canada, this is covered under the criminal code, not that now-defunct Section 13 of the Human Rights.

Australia has an excellent 'Values Statement', which all immigrants and visa applicants over the age of 18 (hence the child??) must sign. That sign would violate the Australian Values statement.

I understand:
Australian society values respect for the freedom and dignity of the individual, freedom of religion, commitment to the rule of law, Parliamentary democracy, equality of men and women and a spirit of egalitarianism that embraces mutual respect, tolerance, fair play and compassion for those in need and pursuit of the public good

Australian society values equality of opportunity for individuals, regardless of their race, religion or ethnic background

The English language, as the national language, is an important unifying element of Australian society.

I undertake to respect these values of Australian society during my stay in Australia and to obey the laws of Australia.

Victor Davis Hanson has an incredible column today over at Pajamas Media, titled 'Obama's Middle East Delusions'.

A few quotes:

'It can be explained in terms something like this: Islamists have convinced the Arab masses that their present mess (so easily fathomed in a globalized world in second-by-second, instantaneous comparisons with other cultures — via cell phones, the Internet, DVDs, and cable television) is not their own fault.

Essentially, this means that the poverty, the unemployment, the dead end statist economy of the MENA, are not being addressed by the military dictators, who would lose power IF the problems were addressed.

As VDH points out, what is the solution?

A great column. Again, read what he says that the MENA must do; constitutional democracy and a free market, ie, private capitalist economy. And what we must do is to stop the leftist multiculturalism, and stop all aid, making aid dependent on their reciprocity in services.

As for Obama, he is as dangerous if not more so, than the Islamists, because we here, on this side of the ocean, listen to and adulate him as much as the Islamists do with their gods.

All they need to do is to sh!tcan islam, because all those evils mentioned by VDH are codified in the koran and hadiths as islamic virtues. Along with the tribal economic mode.

And WHAT WE SHOULD DO is quit with the religious/cultural equivalence! There ARE no riots caused by Catholics, Buddhists,Hindus, just Muslims,all over the world,at the slightest provocation.

Governments in all civilized Countries should arrest and deport the rioters,and never let them back. The Islamists will never stop until they have us all living in dhimmitude.

Our politicians have to find the courage to stand up to an organized voting block,and THAT is a faint hope.

Imagine if that child belonged to a Fundamentalist Christian couple. Do you think that the authorities would wait for one second to take the child away from his/her parents?

At least the poster the brainwashed kid is holding up spells ‘prophet' correctly.

Sloppy mistakes like those by the NSW's premier add to the impression that those in government are not the brightest bulbs, which I believe to be true anyway.

Over at "The Blogging Tories",there is an article at "The Prince Arthur Herald" that claims a Hindu group who plan to have a public viewing of "The Film", should be stopped.

And I thought it was only the Left that approves of censorship!

All I see in this article is every shrill excuse for Islam ever made for its unremitting violence. Its almost like the author is in a panic. As for government officials. Same old, same old, line that its Just extremists. That the Koran has no cause in this, nor Muslim supremacy. Than the usual tin hat comparisons with other Religions. NO other Religions act like this. None.
As for the Muslim community the usual lies sanctioned by allah against the Kaffur.
Plus the usual call to Sharia Law & little disguised opinion that this was caused because of no Blasphemy law.
Another fearful white wash. A spirit of willful disbelief that they are considered sub human by Islam.

Continuing on with VDH's brilliant analysis over at Pajamas Media, the latest news is that not only the Libyan government is saying that there was no demonstration at the consulate or safe house but that there was no-one around, and suddenly, the attack, in two phases, and obviously well-organized, started.

In addition, they say that they warned the WH a few days ago that the area was a problem.

As for Egypt, the news is reporting that one of the key organizers of the demonstration hadn't even seen the video.

It's not the video, it's the vacuum of power in the area, a result of Obama's policy of Do Nothing, and a rejection of the Bush Doctrine, which has emboldened the various tribal radicals to try to weaken further the new governments, and take power.

Insult the "profit"? Looks like Australian media are on the same level of literacy as ours.

If the riots are any indication of the future- and they are- more children indoctrinated into believing that the slightest insult, real or imagined, can be sorted out through violence and threats are the last thing a Western country needs.

People need to wake the hell up.
