THE BRINK OF WAR - WHY YOU SHOULD BE SCARED & WHAT TO EXPECT

For years I have been writing about our economic decay and the growing financial war. The threats I mention are real. The facts are real. And the dangers are real.

Triggers are waiting to be pulled. You're seeing it all over the news:

1. Coordinated attacks against Western embassies in the Middle East.

2. The assassination of a U.S. Ambassador at the hands of an anti-American terrorist in the Libyan US Embassy.

3. Iran and Iraq on the brink of war, with cruisers, aircraft carriers and minesweepers from 25 nations converging on the Strait of Hormuz in defence.

4. Iran just made a serious threat of World War Three on Monday

You're seeing this all over the news, but can you connect the dots?

Naw. It's the YouTube video.

Do you remember seeing a pattern:-)

Harper kicks out Iranian embassy officials counts a little as well.

I put it down to the turnip harvest..

Jim Barker, do you mean like the 1930s? In that case, yes.

Pretty scary political and financial dots.

Enough with the scare mongering Rob.
This is just a sales pitch to buy PM's.

More scare tactics from a dumb Yank. To which I say, "grow some balls, Yank. Despite what you actually think, war is coming. Soon".

Yep let's cut off dialogue with the evil Iranians but plenty of time to talk aboot women's reproductive rights.

Pro-life my ass.

How many Iranian children are you prepared to accidentally
drone while discussing how pro-life you all are.

Yer pals in the states make too many weapons last year?
YARD SALE!

I'm listening.

Maybe it's just me...but if feels awfully 1939-ish out there.

A sawed-off, one nutted yodelling gangster runs Iran. Legions of stupid liberal people willing to bow down before him...and a pending economic sh** storm.

I'm glad that not everyone is worried...

@Droney-What do you suggest? The world just sit and wait if Ahmadinejad makes good on his word to attack Israel? Are the children living in Israel the unwanted fetuses of the world?

Israel does not target civilians. Ahmadinejad on the other hand states he would.

Droney >

It's the Liberal Nobel Peace Prize winner of 2009 and America's number one community activist for "social justice" that will be the first to drop bombs all over Iranian villages.

They call it pro-choice I suppose.

Remember, those little snot nosed Iranians are tomorrow's Osamas and jihadis.

Better them than us, they show no signs of civilized or tolerant behaviour, only death to the heathens.

Not excommunication, but death, from the death cultists.

Leftists like Droney would rather live in chains and under the thumbs of totalitarian regimes, than stand up for something...freedom!

I suspect that Droney would have liked to make nice with Uncles Joe and Adolf.

The left hates capitalism and liberal democracy so much that it would make common cause with the devil himself to destroy both.

Droney

Another version of the 20th century America firsters. Fat lot of good toleration did for them.
Just more dead.

Enough with the scare mongering Rob" Blame Crash @ 8:28 PM

Well Blame, you could take that point of view. I'm not sure you read the long list at the link but I suspect you didn't.

The current World wide malaise we are enduring is fundamentally a currency crisis. Why? Because every Government on the planet, every Central Bank is printing money furiously to buy back Government Debt and vast trillions of those bailouts are not making it into a productive economy. The consequences of printing of too much paper money, issuing to much debt, can be observed through an oz of Gold selling for ever more increasing numbers of pieces of paper that each of those countries prints.

For example Gold has risen $1500 more US dollars from its $250 bottom in 2001. That huge rise in Gold still occurred despite a deflationary environment (think US Real Estate & Interest Rates). Paper which can buy less and less for the average Global Citizen and they are doing what economically unhappy hungry citizens do....go on the warpath.

So, you've every right to kick back and relax as if nothing is going to happen to interrupt your serenity. Ultimately though, the printing of, and the sluicing of Central Bank Money into the system is going to have consequences. You can fill your pockets with paper, certainly there's lots of it coming available. The ultimate question though, is what's it going to be able to buy 10 years from now.

The problem is that there is no safety in this environment and its Delusionary to think that there is. When the currency itself is corrupt, were can you hide. Its obvious from the dramatically rising prices of Precious Metals that a significant number of investors with money think the only really safe place is Gold and Silver. Hell the Central Banks do to and they are scooping it up. Perhaps they think that way because a Gold coin made back even in Caesars time is still good anywhere in the World today. As George Santayana said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Make your choice Blame Crash. If you've a powerful argument that all of this Central Bank printing is going to put the world back on an economically healthy track I'd love to hear it. Personally I don't care what you do, and I don't sell gold and silver myself. But I do have a pile of it, and it has outperformed every asset category for the the last 11 years. When the natives get restless as summarized in the 34 points in the body copy of the article you can link to, trust me its not only Gold & Silver I'm stocking up on.

Thanks Rob, good to know I am not the only one noticing the elephant in the room!
Unfortunately the link only presents financial solutions.
Matthew 24:42-44

Does a nation even deserve to survive, when one half conciders the other half to be more dangerous than its enemies? You pick which half you want to talk about...for it is equally applicable to both. This is how Rome died.

RCGZ, Despite what you say, this diatribe is a scare mongering tactic concocted to get people to buy PM’s. Ever hear of “pump and dump”?
Having said that, I can appreciate the strategy of investing in PM’s, but they are far from being the smartest bet to make in these economically dangerous times. I’ll take 10 acres of prairie dirt over a pocket full of Maple Leafs anyday.

I hear that wheat stored in an air tight 50 lb bucket will keep fresh for 25 years. Costs about $35 bucks right now. How much do you think it will be worth in a couple of years, along with a good hand grinder? You can't eat gold!!!

Fair enough Blame Crash. There are upside and downsides to everything. Its a lot easier to hide 5lbs of coins than it is to hide 10 acres of prairie dirt when men with guns come to take it away.

Then there is the investment performance of either choice over the last 11 years. One has done quite a bit better than the other.

Ultimately its a personal choice. As for pump and dump, it appears they don't sell Gold on the website the article was posted on.

RCGZ;
Well put.
I cannot see any other option left to governments other than what they are doing. Monetizing their debt printing money. The alternative, which I think is inevitable, will be a recession/depression lasting 10 - 20 years. Truly scary that all this printed money has not caused galloping inflation yet. Even if interest rates climbed 2% just imagine the fallout to most debtors public and private.

Of course this all works as long as people retain faith in the governments ability to operate national finances. When that evaporates, and it will, then all bets are off.

NATO will be into Iran before the winter, both US POTUS candidates are down with letting the Pentagon loose on Iran or Syria or both - perpetual war gentlemen - it's good for the MIC economy and expands the state. America will be a bankrupt, police state when they are done funding this perpetual war on terror.

If Harper even looks at joining this cluster frig, I'll burn my CPC doner card.

THE BRINK OF WAR - WHY YOU SHOULD BE SCARED & WHAT TO EXPECT
Meh. This is nothing more than the Cold War, which never ended, heating up again.
Russia and China using as proxies little brown men with AK47s in their hands, again.
Anyone who lived through the '60s/'70s/'80s had this level of belligerence surrounding them all the time.
You youngsters will get used to it after a while, just like we did.
No need for running around in panic like your hair is on fire.

@Blame Crash 12:25am
Sorry no, that's not scare mongering. Rather it's something a basic student of history could tell you. My dad has got a BA from UCR in Ancient European and medieval history and can see the eerily similarities between the two. I'm not as well learned as him in that area, I went into the computer sciences and math. But I did grow up reading his text books and his thesis papers on their rise and fall of the various groups including the reasons.

Me and Mine got enuf supplies to last 6 months for 5 people and 3 dogs. Yea yea, could always eat the dogs there at the end, it's the beer ration that worries me.

Don't agree with this cat though the political tides are turning against Team Obama and Democrats, especially Democrats, and the State-run Media is getting called out for bogus polls and flat out lying. I look for another thwapping like in 2010.

Just can't see Russia and China jumping into WWIII, hell they own half my country and half the Democrats. More than likely after a bunch of sabre-rattling they will throw Iranian President Imanutjob under the Bus.

Of course now if Obama somehow gets re-elected all bets are off.
,

One of the key parts of "going to war" is that both sides have to be engaged in the fight. Given that, President Obama will NOT take the U.S. to war. We may be under attack, but we won't be fighting back, at least not under this President.

Iran and co. know this. As long as they don't do anything that would force the networks to break into SURVIVOR or AMERICAN IDOL, they can do pretty much whatever they want.

Despite their threats and bluster, I don't think Iran wants the bomb to attack Israel. Iran wants the bomb to make themselves "invasion proof." Nobody has ever invaded a nation that owns nuclear weapons. With the exception of Saddam shooting a few SCUDS at Israel, I don't think anyone has ever launched an air raid against a nation that has nuclear weapons. Once they are safe behind a nuclear deterrant, Iran can support and sponsor as much Islamic terror as they want... it's back to the proxy-war days of the Cold War.

The problem is, this will pretty much be the end of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. India, Israel, Pakistan, North Korea, and now Iran... not to mention the rumors about South Africa back in the 80s. Pretty obviously obeying the NNPT is becoming a lot more dangerious than NOT obeying it. Combine that with the fact that America is withdrawing from the world stage, and it puts South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Tiawan, all in an interestig pickle.

Unless something drastically changes, and if Obama is re-elected it won't, the nuclear club is going to have about a half dozen more members in the next few years... you might even see Brazil joining just to show that she is, in deed, a first class world power.

Which means more nukes, in more storage sites, all over the planet... which means more Colonels who could be bribed to provide access, more guards who can be blackmailed into providing keys... more ways for things go wrong.

I have two predctions.

1) before the end of this century, a nuclear device of some type will be detonated in at least one city, somewhere in the world.

2) the name of the person detoniating the device will most probably be "Mohammed".

Occam... not sure what planet you are posting from, but if Obama wanted to go into Iran he could have done so already, and he wouldn't be cutting the defense budget into little paper dolls for his kids.

Remember, when the Brits no longer had the cash or the will to maintain the Empire they simply walked out, lowered the flag at midnight, marched off to the boat home, and let the natives get back to their traditional passtime of slitting each other's throats. Rome may have fallen to the Vandals when the Roman Empire collapsed, but in London, (and 50 years later Moscow) the end of the Empire was little more than a passing ceremony.

Expect something similar as the USA withdraws. In the USA there won't be any zombie armies roaming the plains, no bands of heroic teenagers screaming "Wolverines!" and blowing up enemy tanks, no mass starvation, no food riots in the streets. Just perptual economic stagnation, diminished opportunities, and a replay of the UK's "winter of discontent"... with power cuts and long op-ed pieces about the need for a "New Patriotisim" of sacrifice and austerity.

The real hurt will come in Western Civilization's "outer provinces". Places like Israel, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, that will be left to fend for themselves... and Qatar, Saudi, Jordan, the UAE, Nigeria, Kuwait, Philipenes, places that aren't traditionally thought of as "the West" but did fall more or less under our defensive umbrella.

If Obama is re-elected Israel should be terrfied, Nigeria should be worried, Australia should be concerned, but California can go on sleeping as ususal.
