Robert W. (Vancouver) in the comments brings an update from Sun's Facebook page
"As many of you have noticed, our website is currently down. The Sun Media servers went down last night and are being worked on. We will be back with your uncut hard news and straight talk soon enough. We thank you for your patience."

I smell CBC in this.
Sun News TV is working fine.
Only us meese's
Before Sun New Network arrived the company had another station on the dial that would broadcast low-cost programming (2nd rate shows, infomercials, etc).
I remember one Saturday flipping around and landing on the channel, and I started to watch for a few minutes. Then the video image froze while the audio carried on . . . and it stayed frozen. I checked back an hour later and it was still frozen. Later on that night? Still frozen, audio now hours beyond it.
Sunday morning things were moving again. But when I checked again that afternoon, the video image once again was frozen at precisely the same place it froze on Saturday.
Priceless low-cost operation.
Sun TV News has been off-air in the past for fairly long periods of time.
Ken (11:01) is right: in each instance, it was because Peter Mansbridge had crawled behind the console and pulled the plugs. When they found him, he was muttering incoherently -- something about Ezra and Pierre Elliot Trudeau.
Winnipeg Sun website down too.
The local North Bay Nugget, part of the Sun Media Network is also "503"ing.
Naw, CBC gang are all in the Muskokas this w/e.
I blame the Ocupiers, and Lizzie May.
Guess too many readers going to their sites and giving up on the cbc crap. ;-)
Both the Edmonton Sun and Sun News aren't accessible from the igloo this morning.
My guess is they've been hacked by Marxist/communist sympathizers.
Now where's the tin foil for the tips of the rabbit ears?
Earlier in the summer Sun News went down while I was watching the channel. It was during a particularly hot day in Ontario. Turns out, because of Ontario's ridiculous idea that wind turbines are supposedly reliable, there was a power outage in Toronto that caused the Sun News studio to go dark. Yup, all those people who were running their air conditioners in Toronto caused a blackout!
It's going up and down.. and when does respond is waaaay slow. It smells like a denial of service attack.
It's all a communist plot......
Seriously....
Kingston Whig Standard is down also. I'm dying to read the obituaries. Now that I'm 84, I like to check each morning.
Sun News is down for me, through Shaw.

Thanks Robert, Much appreciated.
Pat in Powell River
Toronto Sun is not responding. London FP the same.
To be down this long it has to be bad. Someone in IT is getting fired on Tuesday morning.
The Sun has pretty good CFL coverage so it's too bad to miss the Labour Day analysis. Otherwise, no big loss.
Sun's up now!
Well, Sun TV is up and running, but not the Toronto Sun.
I have had Sun TV up today every time I turned the TV on. It has never been off here.
