About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Remind me again what it was that pulled Newfoundland out of a decades long recession? Oil, wasn't it?
Just keep smacking the locals with that downtown Montreal arrogance, Tommy-boy. It will win you deep and rich rewards.
The beard.
It's the beard.
Mulcair's an NDP idiot. But I repeat myself.
I'm starting to lose count:
1. The British criminal.
2. Dutch disease.
3. Under fierce criticism, restating his position on Dutch disease -- what he really meant was that we needed a carbon tax.
4. Let's give money to bail out Europe.
5. Northern Gateway is dead.
6. Now this -- Harper not maintaining a balanced economy.
The media tries to portray this guy as some sort of moderate, third-way type like Tony Blair or Bill Clinton. Remember how upset the codger Broadbent was with him at the convention? Not radical enough. In reality, Tony Blair looks like Margaret Thatcher compared to this guy. In fact, he makes Jack Layton look moderate.
As people with non-zero amounts of living brain matter understand, the causes of "imbalance" in the Canadian economy are:
1. Weakness in the US economy, which is why many of us are pulling for the Republicans -- Mr. Middlecair will undoubtedly be pulling for Obama, who's world reknowned for the "balanced" economic policy he's running -- everybody's worse off.
2. Anti-business, anti-growth provincial government policies in Ontario and Quebec.
We all know what Churchill, in a manner of speaking, said about economic "balance": "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings, whereas the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of misery". The latter is about the extent of economic balance we're ever going to see from a government run by this particular gentleman.
Good thing Quebec voted itself out of the separatism business yesterday. Here in Ontario, that means we won't be needing to vote NDP for "national unity" in the next federal election (another media disinformation campaign).
"Let's bring everyone down, cause you know, these guys over here want what you have."
Ah yes, the rallying cry of the вперед, vorwärts crowd.
No, Frank Q, it's the Betazoid eyes.
Is Mulcair aware that manufacturing jobs go to the socialist paradise of China?
At some point, which I hope will be in the distant future, the Conservatives will be replaced with this gentleman.
The demise of the Liberals was not an unmixed blessing. A real centre-left party, as the Liberals were for so long, remains desirable,
if only because of the alternative. The only good thing about his policies is that he is in favour of the Muskrat Falls development,
which leaves the wretched and dishonest provincial Liberals as its principal opponents.
Mulcair is right....Canada isn't keeping it's "balanced economy". That is why it is outperforming most other countries who ARE.
He's right. I want to work ten hours a day making running shoes for export. But oil processing and pipeline components? Maybe not so much.
This is all about spurring on a geographic war between voters in the East and voters in the West. Divisive to the hilt but Mulcair doesn't care.
I'm sorry, I can't take anything that man says seriously. I'm with FrankQ, its the beard. He looks like some kind of perv. If he showed up on my doorstep selling vacuum cleaners I'd set the dogs on him. Hell, I'd go buy a dog to set on him.
Then I'd get the dog to the vet right away, in case it caught something.
Phantom, I'm telling you it's the Betazoid eyes!
But seriously, this man is shifty.
Good one Phantom, Tommie the commie has the look like he smells a dirty diaper in the room, but being an NDPEEr he is to dull to realize it is his own, he tries to use the Turdough Cretin plan to get elected, well Tommie it won't work in 2012 and sure won't by 2015, Canada will like Saskatchewan vote for communism again, once the work and earn money genie is out it will never go back in the bottle.
If you want to understand the political flavour of the ndp in que here's a bit of trivia for you:
The last leader of the provincial qcndp - just after it was cut loose from the federal party was:
Paul Rose.
(for those undr fifty you may want to google that name - for those over fifty you are probably as repulsed as I am)
Mulcair looks like he escaped from the loony bin. The expression and eyes are truly odd. Does he have some disease we ought to know about?
That should have said, never vote for communism again. And yea Gord, Paul rose was someone every lefti would love to have over for dinner wasn't he.
Paul Rose, a kidnapper and murderer, leader of the Quebec NDP. It's Quebec, everything is bass ackwards.
"Mulcair told reporters at a press conference. "It's become destabilized as we've put more and more of our eggs in the resource basket, and we've got to look at the fact that we have lost 500,000 good paying manufacturing jobs -- jobs with enough of a salary for a family to live on, that's being lost and often replaced by part-time, precarious work in the service sector."
No Mr Mulcrap. You're unions,McDinkys screwing the taxpayer green crap, the leftards in Morontario, specifically Trawwwannnaaa, the frogs. That is what is screwing us.You bike,a&&hole,to your next commie speach venue, then maybe I will respect you just a little more then a garden slug.Practice what you preach, socialist hypocrit.
Oh. And I forgot. Your socialist policies, and McDinkys commie regs, with the unions,is what drove the manufacturing jobs out of Morontario.40 bucks an hour(pension, time off, medical, and sick days included) to turn a fracking nut on a bolt? You can bet your butt i would be moving my company off shore.
And before beddie, where's Losers Are Stupid, defending his/her hero?
and we've got to look at the fact that we have lost 500,000 good paying manufacturing jobs
~Tom Mulcair
We don't need to look at that, Tom.
They were lost because the factory owners decided to move their factories to where the labour was cheaper, end of story.
Yes we are aware that means less union dues, less union dues means less union donations to the NDP, so sorry so sad sucks to be you.
Just wait 'til we get rid of the PSUs, Tommy.
You'll crap and cry that much harder.
Malcair is a typical lefty French citoyen, quite
unable to keep his economic idiocy under wraps.
He is literally in a state of shock. Redit at cbc
He is literally in a state of shock. Redit at cbc
Scar at 11:52, I have always referred to him as Spider Eyes, take a close gander and you'll get my meaning.
Mulcair seems oblivious to the locale in which he made his comments - Newfoundland - a province which has gone from "have not" to "have" in the span of a few short years due almost entirely to oil royalties and industry-related jobs.
As far as manufacturing is concerned, Ontario lost its manufacturing jobs because of years of Liberal mismanagement, excessive corporate taxation, and mountains of needless and burdensome bureaucratic red tape. It made the noose then stuck its head in it.
The real problem is still the Liberal party
1 ON 1, Harper could destroy this clown.
This election could be what we Canadians have been waiting for to finally get rid of Quebec....let's no 8 billion equalization, all federal jobs in Ottawa, Gatineau ( I mean Hull), 30% of our debt, no biligualism ( French and broken English) no more double language on anything, will have to trade with USA and Canada to survive and that is in English my friend. The cost to Quebec would be enormous. After separation the Northern Cree would want their own country....they have all the hydro.
It is impossible for Quebec to separate so why dont we play hardball.....a bully will keep pushing until you slap him in the side of the head.
I keep thinking that deep down Mr. Harper has a plan to get rid of Quebec, one can only hope.
Within ten years of a separate Quebec, it will be bankrupt and any major company would re-locate after the PQ brings in the language law for companies with 10 or more employees.
This could be a great time for Canada, if we stand up and hold Quebec to our terms for staying in confederation.....
Never mentioned in this type of topic is the fact that the Liberals did what they could to maintain a low Canadian dollar for many many years.
This resulted in the sell off of many many "Canadian" owned industry and business's and INTERESTS! Beef packing a case in point.
With that, the power to chart our own course was lost and out of control and into foreign...not so patriotic influence.
Why do we now blame the Conservatives for the aftermath? I believe this is why Harper has run up much debt...trying to keep pace with Obama and the US mounting debt in order to keep our buck near par.
Just imagine if he didn't. Our Loonie would be worth much more and you would not be able to hear yourself think for the howling of the left.
But atleast we would not be dumping our production for worthless paper.
As Mulclair settles in it becomes more obvious each day what his strategy is. East vs West, the oldest Libel strategy of the past 100 years. No mystery that the lost 500,000 jobs were good union jobs in Ontario and Quebec. The fact that western resource wealth was used to build that capacity goes unmentioned. Well that great Leap forward project is collapsing on a unsustainable cost structure. Who really has not adjusted in this process?
Yes, the West, does rely on exporting resources which I have a problem with. Funny that when inefficencies are detected and projects undertaken to fix them, such as Northern Gateway, all hell breaks lose. The fact that western oil is losing $15 to $20 per barrel by shipping all production south means nothng to these people.
I have little sympathy for the east as it was their votes that let Turdo spend the country into bankruptcy, create equalization and spread bi-lingualism where it was not justified. Revoke much of this spending and the investment dollars in the east will magically appear!
Well, the NDP just reaffirmed their 50%+1 formula for Quebec to separate, the Supreme court ruling said a clear majority. And the CAW currently in contract talks with the 3 unionized auto cos. says if no agreement all 3 will be struck, yes the highest cost of production and the CAW wants more $, close the door - turnout the lights boys. Mulclair despairs over manufacturing jobs losses - right! I guess 59 seats in Que. is important.
