French entertainer Charles Aznavour has written over 1,000 songs over the course of his long career. Tonight, we listen to a song of his that rested comfortably in the French until it was subsequently co-written/translated by English-language lyricist Dee Shipman, who thought it would be a good idea (she explains herself here) to translate a particular word literally. The results speak for themselves, in English: Here's ….that song.

43% Expect Better Economy if Romney Wins; 34% Say Same of Obama.

Well, that explains why Obama's ahead in the polls….

Speaking of songs here's a link to the Swamp Dog's 2008 hit "Non, Obama, Non Merci Beaucoup"

Mcguinty and company decided to move a power plant during the last election as a simple election ploy. It worked for them but cost taxpaters...to the tune 645 million.

Hey, c'mon, john! Tonight's selection might have been dead in the water at birth, but it's still paddling around.

Eternally. Through the miracle of technology.

Mamba, those pictures are the kind of low rent stuff you'd expect from Stewart or Colbert, but to for Reuters or AP to pick them it's disgusting.

Gentlemen! Here's your chance to be paid $63,000,000 for marrying an attractive woman. There is of course a small catch.

john in east van might need something a little more upbeat.

Black Mamba, thanks, we now know whose side Reuters and AP are on.

Really sorry for the ACLU link, but this is most disturbing...check out the DOJ wiretap increases since 2008.

Eventually this is just going to get too big for the media to continue to ignore.

Hey as long as 'so' is posting long broken English rants here he is to busy to strap bomb vests on women and children.

"21. Truepeers"

I believe it’s possible they will try giving away free Obama money. Here’s the latest oped which i saw tweeted from Steve Keen who is getting pretty influential in the media:

"Why not drop money out of a helicopter?"

"The Federal Reserve should give people free money. People would spend this money, increasing demand for goods and services, causing employers to hire additional workers to meet this increased demand and reducing unemployment in the economy overall."

"Just How Racist Is the 'Obama Phone' Video?"

"There was a video leading the Drudge Report on Thursday afternoon of a poor black woman with messed-up teeth saying she's voting for President Obama because he gave her a free phone, and perhaps you have some questions about it.

Questions like: Is this video racist? Is Obama really giving away phones? Is anyone really bothered by these Obama Phones? And, come on, this is just blatant racism, right? We'll try to answer them.

Is this Obama Phone phone real?

This can't be true.

For one thing, under an Obama presidency, Americans will be able to leave behind the era of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and "wiretaps without warrants," he said.

Remember how Sara Palin is a stupid dummy head for suggesting that there would be death panels. Well here's the NYT arguing that WE need death panels. Remember everyone Glenn Beck is a CRAZY mofo.

Well, my friend, that would be about right, IMO, subject to reverse Pareto's Principle dynamics (sort of modified, on the basis of a very long Friday):

1. Take the two views (43% + 34% = 77%), reduce that by 20% (77% * 80% = 61.6%) and you've got the expected voter turnout.

2. That would put Mitt at 56% (43% of 77%) and Barry at (34% of 77%) 44%.

3. Now take the differential, 12%, and reduce that by 20% (12% * 80% = 9.6%). That would put Mitt at 54.8% and Barry at 45.2%

And if you don't believe that can happen, see this:

Q.E.D. Here's to my heroes: Mr. Lewis, who was my grade 11 math teacher, and Jack Nicklaus.

BTW: Don't you find it a bit coincidental that Mitt Romney would have picked Paul Ryan as his running mate, given that Wisconsin has been the epicenter of the public sector reform movement (including a recall election), and then brought forward Jack Nicklaus -- who grabbed the golfing establishment by the lapels to admit Tiger Woods to the fraternity? Particularly when one considers, you know, how much Mr. Obama loves golf? Pretty hard, I'd say, to call Jack Nicklaus a, ah, racist, don't you think? Maybe Mitt's a bit more cleverer -- and better at living in Mr. Obama's head -- than some of his critics believe.

Just sayin, on the basis of very long Friday... :)
