The Telegraph:

France is set to ban the words 'mother' and 'father' from all official documents under controversial plans to legalise gay marriage…

Ya' gotta laugh.

lberia, not smarter than Romney.

Quick. Listen before a precious piece of American history is banned....

The thousand or so folks that heard Mitt Romney say this joke, laughed. The NY Times, La Times, the Huffington Post, didn't get it, and continue to not get it.
Expect to see a photo of Mitt aboard an airplane, photoshopped to make it appear he is trying to roll down a window.

Ben Stein on the recent tendency of news outlets like the New York Times to describe Muhammad as The Prophet Muhammad in news stories:

Have you ever seen any major newspaper here in the USA refer to Jesus Christ as "The Son of God, God Incarnate, The Lord Jesus Christ"? Can you imagine the New York Times running a story about a crucifix resting in urine at an "art gallery" as an offense against "The Lord Jesus, Son of God"? Can you imagine any large newspaper in this country running a story about the Pope and referring to him as "The Holy Father, The Bridge Between Heaven and Earth"? Or about Mary, as "Holy Mary, Mother of God"? It would never happen.

Excellent point EBD.

Here's how the BBC starts off their lede paragraph, having already decided for us that the cartoons are "obscene". They're depictions. They're line drawings of a dead guy's face and for the most part, fully clothed body.

"An Egyptian newspaper has launched a campaign against the obscene cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published by the French magazine, Charlie Hebdo."

Paul Henderson absolutely belongs in the Hockey Hall of Fame. I mean, *Al Eagleson* was inducted, for crying out loud. (I know he's since resigned under pressure, but still...)

Henderson's historic series-winning goal against the Russians is almost certainly the biggest goal in the history of Canadian hockey. And he's a thoroughly decent, honourable man, and a fine ambassador for the sport.

C'mon, SDAers, sign the petition!

Help Butch. Buy Butch's "bumper crop". Try harder is a butch for an ex-socialist apostates.

Our CBC hexplains: "With the Canadian Wheat Board stripped of its monopoly on wheat and barley sales, prairie farmers can now decide where they want to sell their grain. (CBC)"

"But Butch Harder, a Manitoba wheat farmer and a longtime supporter of the board, said he has not decided where or when to sell most of the bumper crop he has this year.

"I've been rather undecided because to me, I view the wheat board now as just another grain company, and it's not win-win. So I'm really torn," he said."

Justin the egomaniac is going to run for the liberal leadership Q'uell surprise n'est pas?

Dude wake up!You are not your father, even your father was not your father, he was an ass who beat your wayward mamma.

marc in galgary, 11:29p.m. -- Neither, according to my wife, did Peter Mansbridge: "Why", she asked, "is this a story, and why is it on a Canadian news broadcast?"

I think Mitt missed a beat, though: he should have said, in addition, that "Even if the windows did open, Ann wouldn't have opened them because she wouldn't want our dog to be exposed to smoke..." Which would have led to another big MSM carnival, which would have led to another five-point bounce for Mitt...

Regardless, the media's response is good news all around: signs of anxiety, signs of anxiety. I'll have that windows story to go, please, along with TWO Barry appearances on The View in one week, if you don't mind. Looks to me like the puppykinses are nervous and need to huddle together for reassurance.

NDPQ - But of course. Ignorance is bliss, and well kept children can laugh and play all day whilst the adults who have to provide for them actually have to consider the problems of the world.

RCP has dropped the Pew Research poll (with an 8-point lead for Obama based on a 6.5% Democratic sampling advantage) and replaced it with the Bloomberg poll (with a 6-point lead for Obama based on a 5% Democratic sampling advantage). Check page two of the .PDF -- at least that's better than having to find it on page 31 of an 81-page report!

Reminds me of Howard's and Raj's card trick on Sheldon (The Big Bang Theory).

The cbc is about to start on a 3 year Just-a-thon. They may have to hire extra staff for the 24 hour coverage.

However, yesterday they ran with a story about Jason Kenney and his disregard for privacy. Three articles and about 45 minutes on 'Power and Politics'.

Iy appears that a "health care researcher" was upsey that Kenney got her e-mail address after she signed an on-line petition that was forwarded to his office.

As it happens, the "health care researcher" is a journalist that used to work for,...drum roll...,the cbc.

BlazingCatFur has more on this;

New documentary first and then replaying of the Game of the Century will be on CTS at 7 p.m. this Saturday.

I hear that The Toronto School Board has approved the establishment of an all gay high school. I wonder if one will have to be gay to teach there? Also, I wonder how the students prove their gayness. Will there be an entry exam involved? I can see some scrupulous non-gays trying to sneak in the back door. Oh, the horror.

*Mao Stlong:

"According to Elaine Dewar, author of Cloak of Green. Strong is a Socialist. He was born into a family who worked to get out the vote for Prime Minister Mackenzie King, who in 1943 was promoting the National Council for Soviet-Canadian Friendship. Strong's cousin, Anna Louise Strong, was a Marxist, and a member of the Comintern, who spent two years with Mao and Chou En-lai. Her burial in China in 1970 was organized personally by Chou En-lai. Maurice is well received in China, partly because of his cousin's connections."

NASA’s amazing Hubble ‘eXtreme Deep Field’ photograph shows 5,500 galaxies and took 10 years to build

http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/09/26/nasas-amazing-hubble-extreme-deep-field-photograph-shows-5500-galaxies-and-took-10-years-to-build/

Absolute socialist, big-brother-knows-best, garbage from the CBC on the role they see for themselves in today's Financial Post section of the National Post: CBC outlines digital plans despite its shrinking budget.

Leave it up to Komrad Hubert Lacroix:

"Diversity and range of voices is at stake. [He can't possibly be referring to the CBC, can he?] That's where a public broadcaster comes in." The CBC must be the "first place Canadians think of" for content reflective of the national experience and "democratic way of life. Anything short of that" would be a failure for the network's strategic vision.

If Lacroix is convinced that the CBC is central to Canada's "democratic way of life," it's clear that he's delusional and living in a bubble of delirium. The CBC's broke and has about 6% of the Canadian viewer share, on top of which they're fleecing the Canadian taxpayer of $1.16 billion a year.

The CBC's the first place I think of when I contemplate government waste -- not when I'm thinking of Canada's democratic way of life or our national experience.

Sorry, I can't find a link to the article.
